... Riki would awake in a strange room- four gray stone walls surrounded her, and a stone floor, with a clear glass ceiling showing various stars and galaxies above. It would be almost beautiful, if not for the circumstances. The room itself was mostly featureless, just the four walls with no decor... And seemingly no exit?? There was also a bit of blood splattered across the stone.. Kind of all over the place and seemingly random. Riki sat against the back of the room, up against one of the stone walls. Both of his hands were chained to the wall behind him, and a muzzle was fitted over his snout. By the time he was conscious again, the pain of his teleportation had faded. There was a man in the room. With black hair and green highlights- shaved on one side with an intricate pattern. Their eyes were dark voids, besides one pinprick of white, glowing light. He wore a flowing open robe, green pants, and green dress shoes. His body was riddled with red scars-.. Burns, maybe- and lots of bandages in various stages of blood coverage. His right arm was bandaged up and shaking quite badly. The gray robe and green pants he wore were stained in blood and torn in places, especially his shoes, which seemed to have stab wounds straight through them... Ow. As Riki stirred, he looked over with a blank expression. He held his shaking right hand out toward Riki's head as he walked toward him. "Hoyseksagu." He said. His voice sounded like the final voice that was chanting in his head before he vanished. @Twig | Kiran + Riki

Riki groaned, and painstakingly lifted his head as he awoke. His neck was killing him, and let out several snaps and pops when he straightened it up. He opened his eyes slowly, blinking a little dazed, but he was slapped awake by the realization that he was facing a rough-looking stranger, and apparently chained up. His eyes darted from the man to the blood splatters on the floor, to the stone walls around. He bared his teeth. He struggled, pulling against his restraints, pushing himself further away from the stranger and against the wall, and turned his head to the side when the stranger reached towards him. Rakin ignored his pleas and thrashing and placed his hand on the top of his head. A bolt of electricity went through his brain, not necessarily painful, but definitely strange. Once that faded away, he stepped back and crossed his arms behind his back. "Sorry for the restrains and the muzzle, the last wolf I worked with wasn't so kind." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

Riki gasped and shuddered at the feeling, and his tails all poofed up. He shook his head intensely like shaking off water once Rakin had pulled his hand away. He shot an irate glare at the man, straightened his posture as much as he could, and spoke in a stern voice that rang with a sense of authority. "Who are you and what do you think you are doing?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"I am Rakin, Caller of the Abyss.. And you have been invited to The Maze by my master, Alrai Pin." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

Riki's eyes narrowed, and his ears shifted back. "That is just a bunch of nonsense. Where am I? What did you do to my family?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"You can choose whether you want to believe me or not." Rakin shrugged. "But I assure you, your family is fine. My master only requested you." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

Riki tilted his head slightly, and looked at Rakin like he had said something incomprehensible and stupid. "Requested me? Who is this Alrai Pin? Why are you interested in me?" While talking, Riki's ears tilted and turned around and his nose subtly wiggled trying to investigate the room and figure out the situation. Was the blood on the floor Rakin's or someone else's? Could he hear anything beyond the man's voice and his own breathing? Could he smell anything else that could be useful to know? @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Alrai Pin is a creature of great power. They are going to bring back the greatest species to ever exist in this universe." Rakin said. "I do not know the qualifications for their choices, I am simply the guide that takes them here." Upon further sniffing, it seemed like literally all the blood in the room had come from.. This guy. There was nothing else to note. It was eerily quiet. @Twig | Kiran + Riki

Riki's ear flicked. He stared at Rakin in thought for a moment. It was mildly assuring that it was seemingly only this bozo that had been injured here. Riki clenched his fists lightly, and idly pulled against his restraints again. One wolf probably didn't cause all that damage either. "...You speak in riddles", he shook his head. "Let me see if I've gotten anything right. You want to 'invite' me to... something. By a person who wants to resurrect a species from extinction. I do not see how these things are connected." "Furthermore, your 'invitation' methods are rather forceful. I can see the other invitees have not been happy about it either", he nodded towards Rakin's injuries. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"You have been invited to The Maze, where after you lose, you will be promptly thrown in to space, and all of your atoms in your body will be reused to revive the Pilarians. Does that help clear things up for you?" Rakin asked. "And yes, sadly some people really seem to have it out for me." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

Riki flinched, and blinked, but tried to recompose himself quickly not to show his growing terror. "Oh, I wonder why they would have it out for you", he said with a slight, snide growl to his voice. "What if I don't accept your invitation?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"You cannot turn down this invitation. Now that you are here, you cannot leave." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

A brief growl rumbled in Riki's throat. His heart was beating faster with every sentence that left Rakin's mouth. "Why bother even inviting me to your 'Maze', then? You could just kill me now and do whatever it was you wanted to do with my atoms", he scoffed, his tails snaking around him. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

".. Do you really mean that?" Rakin asked. "My master is insistent on having the event run for the entertainment value, but if you are this insistent on your death, I could speed it up for you." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

"Ah, I see, it's for your entertainment", Riki's voice rattled with distaste, anger and fear a little. "No, I'm not willing to die here, I was merely asking what was the point of this." He gritted his teeth and looked at Rakin with an icy stare. "My family needs me. Is there really nothing I can do to let me leave?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"My powers can only bring people to me, I cannot zap you back to your home planet. Not to mention, it would be extra difficult since I not only moved you from your planet, but from a different universe. Even if I knew how to teleport you away, you would probably end up in the wrong universe. I apologize, you should start mourning your family as soon as you can so you can move on." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

Riki's eyes widened. He was stiff like a statue for a few moments, before it became evident from the way the fluff on his tails flickered, that he was shaking. "...No..." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"I am sorry, but it is the truth." Rakin said. "You will be fufilling a higher purpose while being here. Your partner will be able to take care of your child without you, right? Of course it would be more difficult, but..." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

Riki gasped sharply through his clenched teeth, and his muzzle wrinkled. He held his breath for a moment to control his voice, yet it still cracked when he spoke: "We have two." His chest heaved in the rhythm of faster, deeper breaths, and his ears pressed lower back. "How dare you do this to me? You have no right to do this! I never consented to anything! You tore my family apart just to make me dance for you like some circus animal, and then you'll kill me?! How DARE you?!" Riki raised his voice, his eyes flickering between brighter and dimmer light, and he pulled against his restraints. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"I am sorry. This is just what has to happen. Feel free to vent your frustrations on me while you have this opportunity." Rakin said. "I am doing what I can to help everyone here." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

There was a metallic snap, and then light chink of small bits of chains, when Riki wrenched his arms free with one, rage fueled exertion. He stood tall, his tails flaring wide behind him, snaking in large, complex motions, almost filling Rakin's view with their restless writhing. The fox took a hand to the muzzle, pulled it off his face and discarded it into a corner of the room with a bang. He was deadly silent as he stared at Rakin with freezing hate. Now that anger had conquered the sorrow, Riki's eyes shone bright, and his pupils narrowed. He took a step closer to the man. Unhurried and deliberate. "Is that why you are covered in injuries? You offer yourself to be beaten so we can take our feelings out on you? Perhaps you wish for it to ease your conscience?" Riki spoke in a cold, deceptively calm voice. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽 (edited)

Rakin didn't react as Riki broke out, just saying where he was. "Maybe everything you say is true. So please, help yourself. My body should be your punching bag." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

"Should it, now?" Riki hummed, as he stepped in front of Rakin. He stared down at him, a storm of tails behind him and his fur seeming to emit its own soft white light. He reached his hand towards Rakin's neck, grabbing his throat and lightly pressing the tips of his claws against his skin. His grip wasn't tight. In fact, it was almost gentle. However, the look in Riki's eyes showed the hunger for Rakin's pain. He pressed his thumb tighter against the man's throat, pushing it enough for it to feel uncomfortable, even hurt a little, yet he didn't go any further. He only traced Rakin's skin with his claws, drawing thin, irritated red lines into the fleshy canvas, like he was pondering where he should dig them in. "I assume my only way out of this room is through you, so I won't kill you. But mark my words," the fox growled deeply. He let go of the froglin's neck, and put his claws under his jaw instead, grabbing his chin and pulling his face a little closer to his intense stare. "I am not done with you, or your master." Riki let his composure crack for a moment, where his face wrinkled in rage, his fur stood on end, and his eyes blazed with cold light, when he spat out the last word. He glared at Rakin for a moment longer, before letting go of him. "So, tell me. If there's a way to lose, there must be a way to win, yes?" he spoke, folding his arms behind is back and turning slightly away from Rakin, an almost disinterest tone in his voice. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽 (edited)

Every threatening action Riki took, Rakin would only stand there and take it. He didn't even move his hands up to try to grab at Riki's arm. He just let it all happen. It seemed like Rakin's neck was already a bit scarred up all around it, so this must have been nothing new. He did stumble back a few steps and take a deep breath when Riki finally released him. "Yes. There is a way to win. But as of now, my master still intends to kill the winner, just later.." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

Riki gave a dry laugh. "Very motivating. What's the point in trying, then?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"I am aware that is an issue. But my master is very insistent that the winner's prize is motivation enough.. To personally assist in the resurrection process. I have been trying to explain why most would not agree." Rakin said. "The longer you stay alive in the tournament, the longer I have to try to convince my master that you should live." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

(Tournament posting comes first) "I have nothing to offer you but promises, at the moment." Rakin said. "And you will be competing in one on one fights against people on the other side of the maze, once everyone has settled in." @Twig | Kiran + Riki

Rakin raised up his bandaged hand. "So you are prepared to enter your side?" @Twig | Kiran + Riki
