Nora was taking a little walk. Not straying too far from the farmland, she went over to the hammocks and sat down. The hammock swung a little when she sat and she smiled. She started swinging in the hammock, giggling to herself.

Maki was wandering around the area, they had a small skip in their step as they looked around. They noticed Nora from a distance and stood there for a moment before they turned to the basket of fruit in their hands. They told Moses giving people fruit was a good way to make friends...hopefully it'd work. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora was having a great time rocking, but she paused as she noticed someone arrive. They had a… a mask, but it wasn’t.. the mask person she saw before. She didn’t know them. For once in her life, she wasn’t afraid of someone new. She waved a little. “H-hello..!” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Maki glanced up at Nora and offered a small wave sheepishly. They, on the other hand were rather nervous. Maki gripped the basket they held in their hands before they stared down at the fruit. Offering it would be nice, right? Okay..maybe they should head over and ask. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora smiled at the reciprocation, but looked at them confused when they just stood there. “Um… w-what are.. oh! What- what do you.. you have?” She stood up from the hammock, fidgeting with her hands. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Maki wandered over to Nora. They placed the basket down and summoned their book. Do you want some fruit? Then they showed the book to Nora as they gestured at the basket. I want to share. Freshly picked. Moses helped me. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Mm? Oh, ffruit!” She moved to grab some before pulling back, staring at the book. She squinted and tilted her head at it for a long moment. “Oh um…..” …She seemed to be struggling to read. @capisnotonfire (edited)

Can you read? Maki signed as they closed the book. Do you know sign? I can communicate like that. God they hoped someone else knew sign! It would be so much easier...if not, they had alternatives... @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora stared at the movements frantically, trying to glean any meaning from them. “I- I.. I don’t.. kn-know what.. I- I’m s-sorry..!” Poor girl’s trying her best. @capisnotonfire (edited)

. Maki let out a small huff before they summoned a small box. They began to type before they pressed a button. I was using sign lanuage. The box began to speak! Is text to speech easier? I can communicate this way. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

She looked worried. This person seemed disappointed, she didn’t want to dis- Box..? Box talking..??? “Bwuh? I- um, y-yes? I- I’m sorry I- I’m not.. very good at.. at reading fast…” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

No need to read. I type. Box will speak for me. Maki smiled a bit, before they looked towards the fruit basket Fruit. For you. If you would like. I picked some with Moses. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

She stared at the box for a few confused moments before looking back at them. “Oh! Mm, th-thank you..!” Ignoring the apples, she grabbed a handful of strawberries. “You.. mm, you know.. M-Mister Moses? He- he’s nice..” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

I like strawberries too. Maki hummed contently. Moses is nice. I like him. We spoke before he left. I want him to come back. A beat. I am Maki. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

She bit into a strawberry, smiling. “Mhm! They’re.. umm.. they’re sweet!” She nodded along as they talked about Moses. “Mhm. He.. he made... ssoup and… corn. Mm… do you.. you miss him? Oh, um.. m-my name is.. is Nora.” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Very sweet. I like to make Tanghulu. They typed. .... Dot. Dot. Dot. The box said. Maki scowled at it briefly before their face returned to normal. I want him back on this side. I don't know any other adults. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“T-tang.. mm, what.. is that?” Nora sat down, taking a few more strawberries out and eating them. “Mm… um, I know.. some adults! Mm, I- I think M-Mister Riki.. is here. He’s nice t-too and.. he’s a- a big fox. And, um… my- um, M-Mister Juno and.. and M-Miss Jymaiyri are.. are here too. Th-they’re very very nice!” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Its a type of snack! You cover fruit in sugar syrup, let it crystalize and then you got a tasty sweet. They're crunchy. Maki explained. I don't know them...are they nice like Moses? Maki asked curiously. Most people don't seem to be...but I am willing to try and meet more people. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Ooo, yummy!” She would have to ask Jymaiyri if she could grow it! Nora couldn’t really tell if Maki was sad, but they seemed to miss Moses. It was a familiar feeling. “Mm.. they- they’re really.. really nice. I- I promise. I..” She fidgeted for a moment, trying to find her words. “I.. didn’t trust others.. b-before I was here. Mm, they.. they helped me and.. they don’t hurt me. N- no one does.. th-they really care. I don’t.. have to be.. sscared anymore b-because.. they.. they help me.. ffeel safe.” @capisnotonfire (edited)

Maki stared at their box for a moment. They honestly didn't know how to respond before they ultimately...didn't. Maki looked at the fruit in their basket and grabbed a strawberry before they offered it to Nora. Then they pointed at her, then themself. They clapped their hands together. Friend? The box spoke. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

She watched Maki for a moment, processing. She smiled and took the fruit, nodding. “Y-yeah! Friends! Hee..” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

I am not good at making friends my age. Maki sighed. But. I am trying. Now I have four friends. Maki wrote. Which is nice. Four friends. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“I- I have f-four.. friends now t-too! Hee… I- I never.. had ffriends.. before. Mm.. it’s nice!” She ate a bit more strawberries then spoke again. “Oh!! Um, do- do you.. you wanna play? W-with me?” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Play? Maki tilted their head to the side. What would we play? I don't know if there are many games we can play, truthfully... They trailed off. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“We- we can play… pretend! Um, you- you can.. pretend to be.. something else! Um.. I- I like playing.. w-with my kitty.” She pulled a little orange plush cat from the crook of her arm, showing it to Maki. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Maki looked at the orange plush cat for a moment before they snapped their fingers. Suddenly, a small cat rubbed against Nora's leg. The cat looked exactly like the plush, but just as a real cat! The cat meowed and purred before it stared up at Nora with big eyes. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora squealed with joy. “Eeeheheeee!!!! Kitty!! Y-you- how!! How?!!” She reached her hand towards the cat, almost shaking with excitement. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

illusion. Maki snapped their finger and another cat appeared, this one a black and white one. It jumped into Maki's arms and began to nuzzle them. I like to have cat friends... The orange cat purred loudly and bonked against Nora. Friend. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Eeee!!!” She petted the cat’s head, taking in the softness of its fur and the rumbling of its purr. Girl was ecstatic. She looked at Maki, confused. “Ill- illu..sion? Mm.. um, what.. what’s that?” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

It's not real. Maki sat down on the ground as they continued to pet the cat. Though they are as close as you can get. I wish they can be real. I like cats. I like animals. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Bwuh?” She stopped petting the cat for a moment. “Um, what do... but I can.. feel them? Mm..” She tried poking at the cat, not understanding. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

They are as close as you get. Maki frowned a bit.

They act like real cats, feel like real cats, do everything a cat would but...it is not real. But it still brings me comfort.

Maki paused briefly. ...So its okay that they're not real. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

They certainly felt real and looked real. Her only frame of reference was stuffed animals and faded books. “Mm.. I- I don’t.. I don’t really… um, understand but.. I like them. So, mhm, it’s.. it’s okay.” She petted that little orange one a bit more. “Do you.. sstill wanna play?” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

How do we play?Maki asked. ...Do I need a toy? Are our toys going to be friends? They asked curiously. Or maybe they're both cat travlers...traveling the world... @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Umm.. we play by.. by mmaking up a.. a story. T-travelers.. I- I like that! Hee..” Nora set her toy down by the orange cat, and suddenly it was moving around! It was pretty wobbly, not as graceful as Maki’s cats. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Maki watched the cat curiously. They spun their finger around and summoned a small black cat plushie for themselves. The tiny cat waved at Nora before taking a bow. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora clapped her hands, delighted. “Eeeeehehehee!! C-cute!! Um, M-Maki if… if you can.. make that, um.. can you- can you mmake a… a castle?! Th-they can… explore it!” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

With a simple snap of their fingers, Maki summoned a castle. A...very decently sized one at that. Not some type of toy castle, huh. Is this big enough. They asked. Or should I make it smaller. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“W-wow!!” She walked over to the castle, poking at it. “Eee, th- that’s- eehehee.. really cool!!! Wow…” She was very impressed! @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

I like architecture. Maki stepped inside the castle.

It replicates old ones,. The ones I have seen in books. We can explore it. Do be careful, as well, it in an illusion. I do not want you to hurt yourself.

Nora admired the castle, almost tripping as she did. She followed Maki in, staying close to them. “Mhm!! Um.. so, our kitties.. they’re ex- exploring.. the castle? Mm.. is- is there.. treasure? Hee..” @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Sounds like fun. I wonder where the treasure is. Maki grinned as they moved the cat plush around. His name is Midnight. What is your cat named? They asked curiously. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Mm, h-her name.. is Kitty. Umm… ‘H-hello Midnight!’” She waved the paw of her cat, making her voice sound a little higher as she spoke. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Kitty is a nice name. The cat "said." Like when Maki spoke the voice was more robotic.

I like this castle.I heard there is treasure here...and I am a very curious cat...would you liketo go find some treasure?
