Llinos was walking away down the beach, wiping off stray sand particles from her chest and back as she walked. She didn't look all that focused on anything, kinda just wandering.

Sweaty. Nathan had all but removed his binder and pants by the time he made his way down to the beach, his hair tied up with a random rubber band he had found in his pockets. Grass turned to dirt turned to sand, and he was very, very thankful his boots were keeping him from burning the hell out of his feet. Standing at the transition between the beach and the grass, Nathan squinted a little at the moving figure down by the beach. Yeah, no, he straight up could not take this guy in a fight. Purpley, scarred, shirtless (shirtless?), all things to expect from a guy walking down the beach. But, it was still someone to talk to. Sooo... "Heya, bud, sick hair," Nathan said, jamming his hands into his pockets. He strode across the sand, the crunch of grains coming from his boots with every step he took. "Reallll quick question, uh, where exactly are we? And do you know, like anything about a green guy and dying." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Llinos glanced back as he spoke, but didn't stop walking. ".. Llinos likes purple." She said. "You ask a lot of questions. I don't know. Llinos hates green. And llinos knows a lot about dying." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Nathan kept up pace as best as he could, having to shuffle along a little faster than just walking. Fan of purple, not of green- "Cool, so, uh, you don't know about a green frogling guy who looks crazy roughed up and, uh, well-" he gestured a little at the frog legs at her side, "-well, he kinda has frog legs like yours. Llinos stopped in her tracks as he uttered the word Frogling. Like a sleeper agent hearing their kill code, she grunted and lunged at Nathan, claws out and ready to impale him. Luckily for him, she missed. "Llinos is NOT a PATHETIC FROGLING!" She seethed. "Llinos is a Toadlin, and you would be wise to learn the difference." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

When she stopped, Nathan felt he could probably take a breather or something, talk about death, froglings, frog legs, things of the variety. What Nathan didn't expect was her lunging directly at him, about to claw him to death or something. Nathan let out the most inhuman scream, stumbling off to the side before she could actually get him. He dug his fingers into his palms, raising his arms in front of his (very vulnerable) chest. "Okay, shit! I'm sorry, alright?!" Nathan exclaimed, trying to placate the Toadlin. "Toadlin! Toadlin! Cool, purple, strong Toadlin guy, yeah! Sorry! Ha!" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Llinos growled and looked down at him, keeping her clawed hands ready to strike. "Yes. That's right. Never bring up froglings to Llinos unless you are telling a tale of how you smited one." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Nathan kept his arms raised in front of his chest, storing away a mental textbook to never mention Froglings to this Llinos guy unless he wanted to have his soul ferried across the River Styx early. "Hey, this is like, my first time learning of everything," Nathan protested. "Absolutely no one told me anything, I wandered around here for a good frickin' bit. I. I smited- smote- smited? "Llinos doesn't care about Oni or whatever. Llinos only cares about maiming stupid froglings." She huffed and finally moved her arms back to the side. "Llinos will give you a quick rundown. Just to avoid further punching on you. Froglings and Toadlins hate each other. Salamanders hate newts and axolotls. Newts and Axolotls like each other. Caecilians do their own thing. Understood? Nathan stiffly moved his arms back down to his sides, palms all but melting at this point. "Cool beans," Nathan agreed, trying as hard as he could to get his voice to stop wobbling so badly. "I willll, keep that in mind. Constantly. To avoid further punching on me, yeah." No frogs and toads. No sallies and newts. Or axos. Wait, like- "I probably should know this by now, but, so like, everyone...here? Is an amphibian, kinda guy?" A vagueish gesture at the surrounding area behind him. "Well. The three first people. Llinos, Itsuki, and Tai'Tana, yah. I don't know why you or the other one are here now." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Nathan groaned a little, rolling his head back. "Ugh, so there's other contestants around here. Funnn." 'Powerful and entertaining' was what the fr- guy. Said. And that lead Nathan to believe there was going to be, say, some power scuffle here. Now, Nathan was by no means a strong guy, so that left him as the entertaining guy, the funnyman, first guy to die in movies guy. And that meant- She didn't know either. Nathan squinted up at tall, purple, and deadly, the rusty-ass cogs turning steadily in his head. Huh? "You...don't know either?" Nathan asked, confused. "Llinos has no clue what is happening. One second Llinos is walking around Tula, and the next, Llinos is here sweating. Awful." She huffed. "How did you get here." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Tula," Nathan repeated, the word heavy yet intriguing on his tongue. Tula. "I've, uh, never heard of Tula before. Is that, uh, where most of the Toadlins are...from?" he asked. "Genuinely wanna know. Sounds stupid interesting." "Uh." He squinted a little, clenching and unclenching his fists as memories of the earlier...talk...resurfaced. "Well, I was, uh. Talking. To some people." He could hardly call those traitorous fucks friends anymore. "And then I ended up in this. Box. In space. Or somethin'? And there was this guy talking about some game show-tournament-thing." An eyebrow quirked up, nostrils flared as he dug his nails into his palm. "Uh, talked about some some sacrifice bullshit, losers of this tournament-thing die to revive the greatest species ever or some shit. Uh, and then I ended up here! After I tackled him." He shrugged his shoulder in the direction behind him- "actually, no, I ended up back there. In an old, decrepit, musty wreck of a building. "Tula is a human city in Russia. Not many toads there." She rolled her eyes. "Hm. Weird. Llinos just appeared in here right away. And the greatest species thing makes no sense, that's the Toadlins, and we aren't extinct. Also, yes that old building sucks. Nathan, born and raised in Ninjago City, most certainly knew where Russia was. Yes. North. He only nodded in response, gnawing down on his tongue to prevent himself from saying something stupid again. "Wait." He blinked. "So, you were. A human in Tula? "Oh, shit, shapeshifter?" Nathan eagerly asked. Aw, dude, shapeshifters were sick! They could transform as easily as molding clay, and if there was any other power he respected that much, it had to be shapeshifting. "That's sick! Wait, can you like...still turn into a bird? "Llinos lost her feathers when she got here. So she can't turn in to a bird anymore. Just a human and toad." She huffed, clearly irritated by that. "If you see a jacket with goose feathers in the hood anywhere, tell Llinos." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Feathers?" Eh. Made sense. Birds, feathers. "Yeah, I'll keep an eye out for that, wherever it might be." Nathan shifted his weight onto his left leg, humming a little in thought. "Goose feathers, huh?" he echoed, tugging absentmindedly at his fingers. "So, uh, your bird form, it was a goose? Any specific kinda one?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

CW: Minor self harm NATHAN IS AT 14 HP He had no idea what a Tula goose looked like. Absolutely no damn clue. Regardless, Nathan carefully pulled a section of clay away from his palm, squinting a little with the common twinge of pain that came from that. If he actually had some clay on hand, it would make shit a lot easier. "What's a Tula goose look like?" he asked, beginning to roll the piece of clay between his palms. "I was, like, born and raised in the city, so I've just seen a buncha pigeons and like, doves flying around. Never geese." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"What are you doing-" Llinos glared as he started messing with the clay from himself. ".. Gross. Keep your body goo to yourself. Yuck." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"It’s not goo, it's clay," Nathan snapped back. "Too long to explain, I'm kind of made of clay. Like how your powers let you transform. My powers let me transform, too. Now, what does a Tula goose look like. Tell me, since you can't exactly transform into it now." This rhythmic pattern he fell into was ever soothing and familiar as it always used to be, molding clay into one form before pushing it back into place. He always hated detailing feathers, though, so he found a way to cheat at it. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Keepsake. Memory. Also because you lost your actual bird feathers and can't turn into a goose." Pressing the clay between his palms, it easily rejoined, yet the pain from before still lingered. "I figured you missed it, seeing by...yeah." He scratched behind his ear, tilting his head to the side. "I'm not much of a finder guy, to be honest," he admitted through a hiss. "So while it wouldn't like, help you transform, it seemed like a nice thought." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Llinos has a good memory. Llinos does not need a reminder. Plus, not like if Llinos had her feathers here she could even do much.. Small space. Winter bird. Bad combination." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Fairrr enough." He jammed his hands into his pockets, looking around the rather large area they seemed to be in. "I'm sorry, what do you mean 'small space'? Seems like a pretty wide-open area to me." Nathan leaned in somewhat closer, quirking an eyebrow so far that it seemed to disappear into his bangs. "To add-on to that, where exactly are we? Llinos laughed, and pointed over across the sand to the other side of the beach. "Walk across the stream to the other side of the beach. Keep walking. You will see." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Nathan turned to the direction Llinos was pointing in, returning her laugh with a small 'uh huh' of doubt. "It's just gonna be an endless, empty beach, isn't it," he grumbled, heading off to cross the bridge. He had expected to just see more and more sand after the stream, yet what came next surprised him. By a lot. What once seemed like an endless horizon of sand and sky seemed to transform into a solid stone wall- one that was very clearly not there when he had first glanced at it back at the beach. It seemed to stretch out through his vision, but just barely disappearing back into straight sand and sky when it got too distant. A wall, where a wall shouldn't be, in the middle of this- beach? Sandbank? "What the fuck?" Nathan breathed, cautiously raising his hand to the wall before pulling back sharply. He opted instead to scoop up a handful of sand, chucking it full force against the wall. An illusion, to keep people wary, hesitant- It scattered off harmlessly. Trapped, stone and indigo and stone again. "What the fuck, what the fuck," he wheezed, stumbling backwards. "What- who- what kind of fucked up shit is this? Who- wh-" He began to walk, slowly, staring at the wall, before he broke off into a full sprint across the sand, trying to outrun the stone. Yet it kept the same, the grey stone, the grey stone wall- and before he realized it, he was running back to Llinos, his boots thunking heavily against the wooden bridge. Trapped, trapped, trapped, tr- "What the hell is that," he gritted out, wheezing desperately through his teeth as he skidded to a halt in the sand. "Wh- that's a wall! That's a wall- it's not-" A glance back, not there anymore- "I-it's not there! Well- it- it's there, I threw sand at it, why is there just a wall there? Isn't? Llinos was laughing heartily the whole time he was grappling with the existence of the wall. This was hilarious to her. His panic didn't seem any less humorous. "That was the wall. Man, you are reeeeeeeally freaked out." She continued to snort and crossed her arms. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"I- there's a wall. That appears. And reappears. W- why is there a wall?!" His voice was pitching on hysteria, a hand tangled in his hair. "Did you never once question spawning into a beach and finding an endless Shitdamn Wall that looks sooo normal at a distance?" "Why are you laughing??? Is this normal?? "Llinos has lived a wild life. This honestly is not all that hard to believe." She continued to laugh and patted Nathan on the shoulder. "Obviously, the wall is to keep Llinos and you and everyone prisoner. But the cell is not too bad. Llinos can't complain. "I fucking hate being a prisoner!" Nathan exclaimed, devastated. He had had eeenough experience being trapped. Metaphorically and literally. "Dude, this sucks! Like, awful bad! What the hell! And I'm gonna bet a handful of sand that there's no way out," he griped, mimicking Rakin and his squeaky pipsqueaky holier-than-thou voice. "Wh- if you're a criminal or a murderer or something, I don't even have the mental stamina to exhaust myself with that," Nathan bluntly said, looking up at Llinos with sunken exhaustion. "Whatever crime you did, I'm like. A hundred percent serious, totally fine with that. Except for the really bad ones. Murder is not one of them at this moment." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Llinos spent her whole life avoiding being someone's prisoner. Now Llinos is entirely removed from the possibility of being a prisoner there. She is still riding out that high." She chuckled and moved her hand back "and Llinos was innocent of any major crimes. People just hated her." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Nathan wanted to ask why- out of intrigue and an attempt to get his breathing to still, but he hesitated on that. He just stored that away in his mental mindscape for later, but if he had to guess, it probably might have been about the bird thing. "Would- would you rather stay here?" he asked, glancing only briefly at where her hand once was. "I mean, you don't have a choice now, but. Y'know? Would you? Stay?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Yes. Llinos was always watching her back on Earth. Any bird could be out to get her. But now there are no birds here. Llinos is safe. Llinos is not being tortured. This is better than the alternative." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Hm," Nathan hummed, taking it in a little. "That's nice, like- you're not entirely free, but you're...'free' to do your own stuff without worrying about death or whatever." He nodded in approval- while he personnaly hated this goddamn place, it- "Makes sense why you'd like to stay here. "Ooo, hell yeah, crabs. I'll take a hunch and assume the crabs are overrr by the stream." He jerked a thumb in that general direction. "But, uh, the farmland, where's it at? I don't think I passed it on the way here. Just the, like, hammock place and the house." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Over that way." Llinos pointed over to the far left side of the area. "All the way in the back. Plenty to choose from." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Siiick. I'll grab some stuff, maybe come back, maybe not, don't know." Nathan began to head off, raising his hand in a bit of a farewell. "Thanks, for uh. Not killing me? I guess?" Some half hearted shrug. "And for laughing at my misery over the giant-stone-goddamn-wall." Trapped, with no where else to go. "Oh, wait." He turned around slightly, a final question lingering on his mind. "Do you know where like, some clay sediment might be or something? Like, anywhere in this. "Your misery was very funny, yah." Llinos chuckled again. "And if clay-man wants to find clay, he should ask Tai'Tana, big blue man with all the teeth. Tai'Tana has mineral powers." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"I'll keep an eye out for the big blue rock man," Nathan said, turning to depart again. "See you around, Llinos, I'll keep an eye out for your shit." With that, Nathan left, heading towards the farmlands. Maybe he could grab some tropical fruits or whatever. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽
