Yeonaixho lingered around with Minerva as things died down, happy to be quiet and focus on his baby. He was glad, everyone was in the same place. Nathan was snacking on the newly cut peace offering mango as Juno approached. They smiled, teeth and all, carefully setting down the plate on the counter they were leaning against. "Yeah, sure. Yeonaixho didn't notice Nathan offering the mango. "Well, uh, we have something in common now that we didn't before." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"I wouldn't have the faintest idea what that could be, Nai'o." Snacking on the mango again. "The eye thing or the, y'know, other thing?" @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"The... eye thing?" Clearly, he hadn't picked up on that. "The, ah. Other thing. Our... previous predicaments." He huffed, clearly tired of dancing around it. "I died. You died. A pause. "Well, it wouldn't be the first time," Nathan muttered. Another pause. "The uh, dying thing. The eye thing is a first. Eye blindy, sunlight, fun." Fog. "...you died first, if anything," they said, a bit quieter yet. "That guy." (That guy knew him.) @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Mhm... I'm sorry to hear that. It's, uh, not fun, not to be able to see. If you need any tips or anything, I should be able to help." He cleared his throat. "Yeah... I don't remember it. "Eh, I'll manage. But uh, uh, thank you for offering. That'd be helpful." Nathan winced silently, electing to pick up another slice of mango. "That...that's rough, man. Like- the, uh. "Of course." Yeonaixho grimaced. His hand went to his chest. "I know... parts. I know it, uh, took out my heart." Because his heart was currently sitting in a crystal box on the counter behind him. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Nathan saw the crystal box on the counter but literally had no idea what was in it. "Yeah, that- that's as much as you should probably know," Nathan said with a grimace. "It- eeh. It was. It was. Definitely not...fun." They tapped their finger on their arm silently, eyes closed in thought for the briefest of seconds. "It looked like it knew you. That guy- Mallon." "Mhm." Yeonaixho hummed. He couldn't help but feel at least a little curious about everything that had happened to him- even if he knew he was better off not knowing. It was his body. He wanted to know what had been done to it. He sighed. "Yes.... I- I don't know them. Didn't know them.I know it sounds bad- but I really don't." He shuddered. Nathan cocked an eyebrow in slight confusion. "...you guys...never met? Fishy kind of guy- like, literally. Fish. Uh." He'd never seen them in person. "...Fish?" Upon noticing Juno's discomfort, Nathan faltered, brows suddenly pinched together as they stood fully. "Hey, uh- you alright? I trust you, that you guys never met. "We met once. Before the fight- but they acted like they already knew me. They said- that I killed people." He shook his head. "I need you to know that- that what Mallon said about me isn't true. I wouldn't- I wouldn't do that. Please." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Nathan sputtered into their mango slice, and promptly set it down again. "I- khf- they said you huh?" That- that didn't sound like him in the slightest. "Maybe- maybe they confused you for someone else? I- dude, we haven't known each other for long, but- dude, man, you wouldn't kill anyone, that just doesn't sound like you at all." "I trust you man, just- take a breather, alright? I've never even met the guy so- I wouldn't- I wouldn't know what they said, if it's anythin'." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"They did-" He took in a breath. "But I didn't. I would never do something like that. Nathan, you- you have to trust me. You can trust me. I would never do anyone harm." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Juno, I trust you, man. It doesn't sound anything like- like you." He was definitely starting to panic now. Nathan set their hand on Juno's shoulder for comfort, trying their best to get through to him; "I trust you. You're not the type of guy to hurt someone- or even kill them, man." They had to have confused Juno for someone else. They had to. It was the only reasonable thing about this. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"It's not. Not something I would do." He reassured himself. He flinched at Nathan's sudden touch, but didn't move away from him. But, was it? He'd been asked, at a time so long ago it felt unreal, what he would do if Jymaiyri was gone. Suddenly, he found himself faced with that possibility. And he knew, very deeply, he'd do anything to be with her again. He buried that desire in the pit of his stomach. He could not give into that. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"In all my time knowing you, which, uh, hasn't been long- I just know that you're not the type of person to jump to violence. That guy probably mistook you for someone else, and- and what they did was unfair, man." Crimson, red, teeth and claws and music. "You're kind, Yeonaixho," Nathan softly said. "You're kind, and you care 'bout people so much, y'know? You always want to help people- just- I know you can't remember a bunch, but you didn't want to hurt them the entire time, y'know? Yeonaixho ran his hands through his hair, brushing choppy bangs away from his face, only for them to fall back on it again. He was a good man. He was kind, like Nathan said. What he did was the right thing. Did that make his crueler desires moral? He rested both hands on Nathan's shoulders, holding them still for a moment. His pale, sightless gaze just missed Nathan's. "Thank you, Nathan. You're right. I... shouldn't worry about it too much. It's all done now, anyways." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"It's alright to be concerned," Nathan reassured, barely looking at the hands settled on his shoulders. "It's alright to be worried, just- just know, that's not you. You're not a murderer, you're not cruel. You're kind, and- I'unno, you always want to help people." A pause. Their eyes- one hazy, one clear, peered up at him, as if silently judging something. Yeonaixho's brow furrowed. "I'm- well, I'm as alright as I can be, I- it was a lot." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"...that's fair." The words fell silent on their tongue, as if those were the only words they could muster. 'That's fair.' 'I'm sorry about Jymaiyri.' They were only a stranger. They talked barely once, and even then, they freaked her out with their powers. Light fingers carefully squeezed his shoulder. "Na zísete na ti thymáste," Nathan quietly said. "Live to remember her." A pause. "I said the same thing for you after your fight. I guess it applies now too." "...mango slice?" Their free hand pokes against the side of Yeonaixho's palm. Yeonaixho didn't lift his hands from Nathan's shoulders, but his grip loosened. "I lived for her before." He said, his voice softer now. "It shouldn't be too hard, to continue the practice." At the offer of mango, he shook his head. "I... really don't feel like eating right now." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"That's a really nice way to think 'bout it," Nathan softly hummed, eating his mango slice instead. They really didn't wanna pry. It felt...rude. And invasive, on top of that. "It is- it is a really nice way to think about it. Yeah." ...They were really bad with feelings. "If you wanna eat later, I got a plate of kinda-decent-cut mangoes here for you," they offered. "But I get that too, yeah. Between you and me, being newly-revived makes me feel all nauseous inside. But uh, the hunger kind of overrides the nausea, so mango slices it is." "Thank you." Yeonaixho replied. He finally took his hands away from Nathan's shoulders, and tugged his robe closer around his body. "Thank you for the offer. I... don't really feel like eating. Fruit just makes me think about Jymaiyri and... what happened to her." He shuddered. "I've been alright. Not the best, not the worst. It's better indoors. Nathan pushed the plate further behind them, the ceramic scraping along the wood. Not that putting it out of sight would have really helped, but hey. "Pants, huh," they sighed. "Zora, uh, managed to get my clothes back from...Rakin. And pretty much all of my stuff too. I don't know if you're in the mood to, say, ask for your stuff back, or some warmer clothes? But y'know, he, uh, yeah, he's an...option." They were full on wincing at this point. "Or maybe there's also some warmer clothes on this side," Nathan considered. "Coats? "Rakin..." Yeonaixho repeated. Rakin had been the cause of this. It was because of Rakin, that Jymaiyri was dead. His heartbeat raced. "If I see Rakin, I'll-" And he cut himself off. His tongue betrayed his heart's desires, however cruel they might be. "Mhm. I'll keep that in mind." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Mentioning Rakin was a poor choice indeed. However, Nathan merely quirks an eyebrow at his outburst, rather indifferent in the sudden change. "It's a safe space here, let it out," Nathan hummed, eyes darting over to the little interaction in the corner. "But if you wanna get all loud and angry, maybe not in here with the kids." "I have...similar. Feelings about him," they said after a moment, eyes shut in thought. "That is, not so great feelings." "...he pit Zora 'n me together. Yeonaixho let out a shaky breath. "I want to kill him. I want to make him suffer- for everything he's done to me, for everything he's done to everyone I love- he deserves it." Interesting words from a guy who was proclaiming his innocence not too long ago. He said all this in a hushed, almost fearful tone. "That's- you get it, then! He deserves to suffer. "Cheers, big man! I hate his fuckin' guts too!" Nathan raised another mango slice in mock-toast, and crammed the entire slice in his mouth as Yeonaixho spoke. "He sees all of this shit as 'entertainment'," Nathan all but snarled out, his upper lip curled into a sneer. He didn't particularly care about being quiet. "He sees all of this as entertainment, he doesn't care about anyone here- he only gets terrified when things ruin his plan." He thought it best not to mention the amount of panic on Rakin's face when Nai'o got...bowled. "But..." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Yeonaixho was already running through things he could do to Rakin- some fantastical plans of revenge, some carefully-crafted methods of torture. He didn't just want Rakin to die- he wanted him to suffer. Maybe, he'd take out his heart. That'd be a good way to end him. "He needs to pay. It's- it's only what's right. He's caused so much suffering, for so many people- it's only correct he should give penance. "But? But, what? What reason isn't there to make him suffer?" @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"No, not that part," Nathan quickly said, shaking their head. "I'm all for kicking his ass- for dragging everyone here, for dragging kids here for just- for bullshit entertainment." Their voice fell silent, fingers tapping against the counter. "But..." "...why did he bring us back? Why did he even offer it up in the first place?" They scratched behind their ear, narrowed eyes squinting at some part of the floor. "I'm all for making him pay, but just...why? Out of everyone here now, I'd have to say we have the most right to be pissed at him. To want him dead." "But why? Why bring us back for the risk of it? "I couldn't care less about his motivations." Yeonaixho scoffed, his delicate features growing stern in anger. "He put it to a vote- it's not as if cares especially for either of us. Hell, I bet he was doing it only to placate the people here. He brings us back, so they hate him less." "But it won't work. I hate him more now." ...Oh boy. Nathan fell silent, biting on the inside of their cheek as Yeonaixho spoke. For someone who was so adamant he'd never hurt anyone, these words were certainly chosen ones. (But then again, how could they disagree? Rakin hurt so many people here.) "I'm not telling you not to make him hurt, I'm just saying you should be wary," Nathan cautioned. "But you do have a point. "I am wary." Yeonaixho maintained, despite many things suggesting otherwise. "I am. But I also know I'm right. He's hurt too many people, and he needs to pay. Whether that's now, or once everyone is safe- it has to happen." "Do you know what I want to do to him, Nathan?" He took in a breath, he tried to brush his hair out of his face again. Preferably when everyone was safe and there were less people for Rakin to target, but Nathan wasn't going to say that out loud- not with this. "I got no qualms with that, trust me man," Nathan simply said, trying not to look too uneasy with the whole thing. He wasn't going to disagree with the prospect of y'know, kill murder maiming, but it felt...strangely wrong coming from Juno. Was it right to do to one what they did to others? "Rakin has to be stopped. He's done far too much shit for anything to be excused anymore, really. Death fight after death fight after fuckin' event, without a care for anyone here- for the kids here." Nathan inhaled quietly, hand lightly covering their mouth as they considered their next words. "And...whatever you decide to do after he gets stopped is- it's up to you. Yeonaixho's breath was heavy, his sightless gaze distant. "I will do anything to bring him justice." He said, barely above a murmur. "I will make him bleed. I will make him suffer. I will make him know pain he didn't know was possible." It was with utmost conviction he repeated these things to himself, like a prayer. "I'm right- you know I'm right, don't you, Nathan? "Hookay," Nathan wheezed, their own slightly sightless gaze darting to wherever the hell Juno was looking. Right yeah he wasn't looking at anything. "Hokay, this is uh, this. This is getting a bit. Too much now, man." "I- uh- you're...justified, y-yeah? Uh- right? Right and just aren't the uh, same- thing." They slowly, albeit hesitantly, set their hand on Juno's wrist. Yeonaixho tore his hand away from Nathan's touch. His brow furrowed in immediate concern, though, of course, not for Nathan. Was he trying to hurt him? Was he trying to stop him? He pulled away, and pressed both hands to his chest. "Nathan- I'm right. I'm right, and I'm justified. I'm always right. I'm a good man." He pleaded. "Rakin needs to suffer, for what he's done to me! "Athena bless." The sudden escalation in Juno's voice was enough to put Nathan on edge, and they pressed back against the counter, squinting cautiously at Juno. "You- listen, man, Rakin- I get it. Rakin fuckin' sucks, man!" Nathan hissed. Oh, and Sovran was looking this way too, bless. "I want him dead as much as you do, but you gotta tone it down. I know you're a good m- wait, w-what do you mean, 'you're always right'?" "W-was Mallon really lying?" After departing from Nora, Sovran helped himself back onto his crutches and quickly made his way over to Nathan and Yeonaixho. “Hey, Nathan, how ‘bout you go and sit with your sister for a bit?” The man gave him a smile. “Yeonaixho and I need to have a lil’ chit chat.” He had yet to face Yeonaixho. Yeonaixho only scoffed in anger at Nathan's words. "I'm always right. Mallon is a liar- and they deserve to suffer too." Only hours ago, he'd thought Jymaiyri had been too harsh with them. Now, he thought she wasn't harsh enough. Abruptly, he shut up as Sovran neared- though he was still visibly breathing erratically. "Sovran. Nathan faltered slightly more, eyes widening the fraction of an inch. There was something so unnaturally wrong with this- this dismissiveness. (Something primal was crackling in the back of their throat.) Before they could respond, however, Sovran was there. Nathan blinked, looking up a bit at him in surprise. "Nora- I'll sit with her, yeah." Nathan picked up their plate of mango slices and left without so much as another word. Sovran could...talk it out with him. “Thank you, Nathan.” Still smiling, he turned to Yeonaixho. “Yeonaixho, would you mind joining me on the other side of the kitchen?” Sovran asked. Though, without really waiting for a response, he began to walk to the complete other side of the kitchen. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Yeonaixho scoffed, and rolled his eyes, but followed Sovran over to the other end of the kitchen. He stopped once his partner did, and crossed his arms over his chest. "What do you want?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“First off,” Sovran’s smile was completely gone, replaced with a hardened glare. While Yeonaixho couldn’t see it, he’d hear it in the man’s tone and would be able to feel the general aura in the man shift. “You’re gonna keep facin’ this way: those kids don’t need to see your expressions. Second, you’re gonna keep your voice low and quiet as we talk, alright? Those kids don’t need to hear you talkin’ the way you have been, you’re damn lucky that Nora hasn’t heard a thing. "You can't tell me what to do. I'm not a child." Yeonaixho hissed, though- he did stay facing the direction he had been in, and kept his voice barely above a whisper. His anger was evident in his tone, though, and it was written plain on his face. It was something Sovran had not yet seen from Yeonaixho- he had seen his joy, his fear, his grief- but never this. “You’re right, you’re not a child, you’re a grown man, so how ‘bout you start actin’ like one?” Sovran quietly seethed. He took in a deep breath and spoke once more, in a calmer voice. “I need to know what’s goin’ through that head of yours, Yeonaixho. The way you’ve been talkin’- The way the young and foolish men speak, not someone like you. Someone like you ain’t supposed to be talkin’ ‘bout drawn out violence and murder, Yeonaixho, you’re better than that.” At least, I thought you were. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"I thought you of all people might understand- or did you not care about Jymaiyri as much as I thought you did?" Yeonaixho's tone was bitter. "You don't understand how much he's done to me! He orchestrated my death, Sovran! He knew Mallon wanted me dead and he put me in that arena! You don't get it! He needs to die. I need to kill him." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Okay, this all was news to Sovran. He wasn’t aware of the background that Yeonaixho and Mallon had together. However, that didn’t change his stance. “I care about Jymaiyri, I love her, just as I love you,” Sovran spoke. Despite his anger, he forced his voice to remain steady. “And this is comin’ from a place of love- You go through with somethin’ like this, you don’t come out of it the same man you were. Knowin’ Jymaiyri, she wouldn’t want her husband to be a vengeful, husk of a man that she once knew. You’d become someone entirely unknown to her, Yeonaixho- Is that really what you want? Does revenge mean so much to you that you’re willin’ to throw everythin’ else aside, and ultimately, throw away Jymaiyri’s love for you? You can’t say you’re doin’ this for love or out of care when it’s comin’ from such a dark place inside of you.” @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Yeonaixho opened his mouth to retort, then couldn't think of anything, and crossed his arms over his chest again as he thought up a reply. Sovran didn't understand. He didn't understand how deeply he needed to right this wrong, to fix this rift that had grown within him. Violence was the only way. "Suffering beyond what I can comprehend has been done upon me, and everyone I care about." He said, still bitter, but quieter. "How am I meant to answer it, but by enacting violence and suffering myself? I- I can't just let this happen. It isn't right." It couldn't be right, to deny himself an urge that overwhelmed him completely. "I need to do something. What am I supposed to do, if not this?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“You know what you’re supposed to do? Take care of that sweet baby girl that you got,” Sovran replied. “She’s just lost her mother, she’s a sweet baby, all she should have is the entire focus of her father right now. You shouldn’t be locked in to some revenge plot, you shouldn’t be thinkin’ ‘bout stainin’ your hands red, because how the hell are you gonna be holdin’ your daughter once it’s all said and done? You won’t be the same man after it all, and Minnie needs you to be the man she’s known her whole six months of life.” @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Something shifted within Yeonaixho. His gaze, though still stern with anger, softened, and he tilted his head slightly down. He buried his fingers into the soft flesh of his arms, with enough force he was beginning to break flesh. He didn't seem to react to the pain, though, and when he spoke, his voice was full of anguish. "Sovran- I don't want to do this. I don't want to stain my hands permanently with the blood of those who wronged me. I don't want to be a killer." Then, in a hushed, fearful tone, "But I have to- Sovran, I have to. This- this desire, it's consuming me whole. It's tearing my flesh and spitting out the bones. It's eating me, I can't just- ignore that. How am I meant to hold my daughter, and pretend everything's okay, when it isn't, when my heart cries for blood it will never be sated by?" Though his gaze wasn't level with Sovran's, he'd be able to see the complete anguish in the man's eyes. Yeonaixho was being far more vulnerable than he was comfortable with right now. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu (self harm in the first bit, then some cannibalism metaphors it's juno)

“Hey, hey, don’t do that,” Sovran gently rested one of his hands upon Yeonaixho’s. “If you gotta squeeze somethin’, squeeze my hand. I’ll share this pain with you, alright? You’re not alone.” The man was silent for a few short seconds before he spoke. “From my own experience, I know this type of thing will pass, it will lessen with time. Your hurt is raw and fresh, so it feels overwhelmin’ an’ consumin’. It feels like this is all there is to your life now, but I promise you, it’s not. You don’t have to do somethin’ like this, Yeonaixho, you truly don’t.” His hand gently squeezed Yeonaixho’s. “This type of stuff is for the young, dumb, and foolish who spend the rest of their days carryin’ the weight of what they’ve done. Us? We’re adults, we’re grown, we’re beyond that. It’ll take a while, a good while, for this sensation to simmer on down, but it will lessen. You’ll be able to hold your baby girl and not have to pretend that everythin’s okay. It’ll be genuine.” @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Yeonaixho's grip over his arm eased as Sovran touched his hand, and he found himself wrapping his fingers around Sovran's. The touch was grounding. He didn't speak for a moment, and closed his eyes firmly shut. He didn't cry. He didn't have the will or weakness to cry. But his rapid heart was calming. "It hurts so much." Yeonaixho took in an uneasy breath. Everything still hurt- hurt in a way his heart was so certain could be remedied by ripping flesh from bone. But Sovran's voice made him think, even for a second, that things could be alright. He leaned into Sovran and enveloped him in a warm, tight embrace. Sovran let his crutches fall against the wall as he wrapped both of his arms around Yeonaixho. He held onto the man tightly, squeezing in as much love and warmth into him that he possibly could. All he wanted to do was let Yeonaixho know that it would be okay, it’d ultimately be okay. “No need to thank me, Yeonaixho,” Sovran spoke softly. Yeonaixho held Sovran as tightly as he could. He still didn't feel like things could ever be okay- but his thoughts weren't racing like they were before. He still didn't trust himself not to do something irrational. But Sovran didn't need to know that. Not right now. He didn't say anything, but buried his face in the crook of Sovran's neck. Off-limits.” From rubbing circles into Yeonaixho’s back, Sovran’s hand shifted to gently stroke the back of his head, his fingers running through the long locks. “.. It’s not our burden to carry, then, the act of the final blow,” His voice remained soft and quiet as he agreed. He could agree to that. “It’s just- You especially don’t deserve to live your life with stained hands like that. I wish I could properly describe just how special you are, of how worthy you are of livin’ a good and comfortable life.. When I see you, I see the dawn- A fresh day, hope arising, the light overpowering the dark. I see this sort of radiance emit from you when I see you talk of your daughter, of your wife, of the other kids, of the life you lived before you were sucked into this situation. Yeonaixho leaned into Sovran, as he once had as a lover, now to be comforted. Sovran's words both soothed and frigthened him. He was uneasy, with such expectations of innocence and goodness placed upon him. He didn't know if he was as good a man as Sovran thought he was. "Th- thank you," He replied anyways, softly. Yeonaixho leaned into the kiss, and pressed another to Sovran's cheek. "Mhm. Right now, that's all I want." It was strange, how things were suddenly... back to some kind of normal.
