... Nora would awake in a strange room- four gray stone walls surrounded her, and a stone floor, with a clear glass ceiling showing various stars and galaxies above. It would be almost beautiful, if not for the circumstances. The room itself was mostly featureless, just the four walls with no decor... And seemingly no exit?? Nora sat in the middle of the room, a migraine fading from her head as she woke up. The tingling was gone, and she had full control over her body. She was sat against a wall, and there was a set of chains on the wall beside her, but she was not bound. There was a man in the room. With black hair and green highlights- shaved on one side with an intricate pattern. Their eyes were dark voids, besides one pinprick of white, glowing light. He wore a flowing open robe, green pants, and green dress shoes. His body was riddled with red scars-.. Burns, maybe? His right arm was bandaged up and shaking slightly. In his left hand, he was holding her precious ragdoll orange cat with a red bow tie around its neck. He was lifting up its arms and dropping them, just to watch them fall. As Nora stirred, he looked over, smiling. He let the doll rest in his left hand and stepped toward Nora. He held his shaking right hand out toward her head as he walked. "Hoyseksagu." He said. Nora blinked rapidly at the sudden brightness, eyes focusing on a man she had never seen before. What was he doing…? Her eyes went wide and she screamed. “KITTY!!! LET- YOU- GIVE IT BACK TO ME!!” She sounded much like she was about to cry as she reached out for the doll. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Rakin reeled back at the noise, hissing to himself as he tried to blink the pain away. "Hoyuneakgu!" The man said, much harsher than before and forced his hand upon her head. He pushed her down to the ground and held his hand there, and it felt like lightning was ripping through her skull. It didn't entirely hurt, but it was strange. Her head ached, like new knowledge was entering it forcefully. Once the lightning subsided, he moved his hand away, dusting off the bandaged hand on his robes. "There. That wasn't so hard, was it? She whined in pain as the knowledge was forced into her mind. She blinked away the vertigo and immediately went back to reaching towards the man. “P-please! Please give- give it back!!” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"That's really what you're most concerned about here, child? Your toy?" He raised an eyebrow as he strolled back over to the doll and picked it up. He looked it over for a moment, before tossing it over to Nora. "I question your priorities, puppet girl." "Hah, puppets.." @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺 (edited)

She fumbled the catch as the doll landed in her lap. She clutched it to her chest, running her hands over the familiar smushed fur. With her friend safe, Nora began to truly take in her surroundings… “W…where.. am I? W-who are you?” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"I am Nok Rakin. You may call me Your gracious co-host, his excellency Rakin, Caller of the Abyss.. Or simply Rakin is fine." He smiled. He was always smiling. Once he had moved about five feet away from Nora, he turned on his heel and sat down, robe billowing out around him. "You are in The Maze. A lovely little place put together by our host. You have been hand selected by the great Alrai Pin to participate. You should be very grateful for this opportunity." @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Lots of words she was unfamiliar with, adding to her growing confusion. She tilted her head at the man’s words. “Maze..? I don’t want… I don’t want to be here…” She continued to run her hands over the stuffed animal. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽 (edited)

Her eyes went wide with fear. “N-no!! P-please don’t! Wh- what am… what am I s-supposed to do..?” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Good! There's that can-do attitude I appreciate." Rakin nodded. "We simply want you to participate in this wonderful, once in an eon event. The rebirth of a species is truly wonderful.. And a great prelude will no doubt be this grand show!" He chuckled, moving his arms out to the side dramatically. "We just want you to try your best. Face any challenges we throw at you. Give us lots of great drama! Our host simply loves the drama." Rakin said. "And as long as you win everything that is thrown at you, we won't be forced to throw you out to the void. She stilled as she took in her instructions, internalizing them. Much of Rakin’s words were strange and confusing, but she understood that this was some sort of challenge, a trial or something. “…do you want me.. to fight? People?” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"When the time comes, yes." Rakin nodded. "We don't have your opponent picked out yet, but we'll let you know when we do." @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

She nodded slowly. “You want… me to kill… them? Then…. then I can.. go home?” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Ideally, you will not be the one to kill them. We need their bodies before they die.. But you may viciously maim them to your heart's content! As long as their blood, or whatever they may have, is still pumping, it will work for us." Rakin smiled as he nodded. "We knew you would be an eager participant, Nora. He didn’t answer her question. That’s fine… She frowned just a little before returning to petting her doll. “Okay. I don’t… I can do that. My magic… is bad at maiming, I’ll… I’ll do my best?” She didn’t really understand why this man wanted all of this, but asking was bad. If she asked, he would be mad, so instead she just nodded along with his words. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Oh, the maiming doesn't have to be physical, dear. Mental damage can be just as entertaining." He tapped his finger on the buzzed part of his scalp. "There's many people out there who are terrified of being puppets. Losing control of yourself like that.. It would simply leave them mortified." @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Oh. Rakin… he was like her master, it seemed. She nodded along. “Okay. The other people… control them. I understand. Um… is there… anything else? You want… me to do?” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Not for now, but since you're so eager, perhaps we can speak more later." He held his hand out toward her head again. "Any final questions? Next time you wake, you'll be on your side of the maze." @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

She recoiled slightly as he reached for her, but returned to her original position. Make the scary man happy. “N-no. Um. Don’t- don’t take kitty again… please. I’ll do… my best.” She held her cat tighter. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Well, hold on to it tight. I'll let you hold on to it since you're so eager to work with us." He did and placed his hand on her head again. "That deal only stands as long as you stay in our good graces, of course." Zap, she was unconscious again. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

The threat frightened her a little, but she had no time to react as she fell unconscious. She held it tight, even in her sleep. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽
