... Errol would awake in a strange room- four gray stone walls surrounded him, and a stone floor, with a clear glass ceiling showing various stars and galaxies above. It would be almost beautiful, if not for the circumstances. The room itself was mostly featureless, just the four walls with no decor... And seemingly no exit?? Errol sat against the back wall of the room, a migraine fading from his head as he woke up. The tingling was gone, and he had full control over his body. The wall he was sat against had a set of thick iron chains, and his wrists were shackled so that his arms only had a few inches of movement, and his arms were all the way extended out to the side. He wouldn't be able to reach the rest of his body to summon anything. There was a man in the room. With black hair and green highlights- shaved on one side with an intricate pattern. Their eyes were dark voids, besides one pinprick of white, glowing light. He wore a flowing open robe, green pants, and green dress shoes. His body was riddled with red scars-.. Burns, maybe? His right arm was bandaged up and shaking slightly. A few beads of sweat were forming on his forehead. In his left hand, he held Errol's wallet. He was specifically flipping through the various pictures he had inside of it, taking some time to analyze the faces. As Errol stirred, he looked over, smiling. He held his shaking right hand out toward Errol's head as he walked. "Hoyseksagu." He said. Errol looked up at the man, blinking blearily. He grit his teeth as he tried to move his limbs, only to be caught by the chains.... That certainly didn't bring back pleasant memories... "Who--... Rakin placed his hand on Errol's head, and there was a brief blip of pain- specifically electrical- that entered his brain. But nothing else happened as Rakin held his hand there, and he seemed confused by that. He twisted his head to the side and gripped Errol's head tighter, pulling his hair. "Hoyuneakgu..?" He.. Asked? Rakin didn't respond to his protests, and the shocking feeling came back, much stronger this time. His head ached- like he was thinking really hard about a difficult math problem or learning a new subject that was hard to understand. As the feeling went away, Rakin moved his hand away, looking down at Errol. "Do you understand me now? I think your partner may have imparted in you some resistance to my abilities. Which is quite unfortunate." @Sam | Errol 🖌 + Chris ☀⚡

Errol hissed in pain at the shock and the headache. He blinked a bit as the feeling went away, a frown replacing his look of pain. "...I can understand you now..." Errol spoke slowly, almost hesitantly. "...You have lightning powers...?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Mhm." Rakin turned on his heel and walked away from Errol, letting his shoes click against the stone floor as he walked. He walked into he was about five feet away from Errol, out of reach of his feet were he try to kick him. He looked at the wallet and pictures again. "You have a lovely family, Errol." Rakin chuckled as he flipped around the picture he was looking at. It was the picture of him, Junior, and a Ulysses all together. He gestured his thumb over to Ulysses. "We've been considering whether or not we should even bring your husband here, after all, what would be more dramatic..? Him coming home and realizing that all his family and closest friends have vanished, besides for the child, or having him here, set up to fight you?" "Surely this is familiar. We know everything about you. You and your little friends will make quite the spectacle, what a blast from the past, am I right?" @Sam | Errol 🖌 + Chris ☀⚡

Errol's eyes widened in horror and he pulled at the chains, "stay the FUCK away from them-" He snarled suddenly angry. "I swear to god if you lay a hand on their heads-" He threatened as he flailed and kicked. He then paused, a cold feeling washing over him at the realization of Rakin's words. "Closest friends...?" He questioned, his voice quieter than before. Almost scared, nervous. "...You don't mean... Madison and... Isabelle...?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Rakin laughed as Errol yelled, but he did still flinch his head back a Lyle. "I won't need to hurt them, the other people in this event will take care of that for me. And I have no interest in bringing your.. Child here, I believe all he would do is cry. Wah, sob, et cetera." He tossed the picture on to the ground, and it fluttered in the air before landing on the ground next to Errol. "And yes! Madison and Isbelle will be transported very soon! Just like old times, right? Except you didn't have to accept this invitation, we did it for you." @Sam | Errol 🖌 + Chris ☀⚡

Errol's eyes followed the photo, watching it land on the ground and looking horrified as he stared at it... "Madison and Isabelle will be... here...? Where-... Where even are we? *Why are we here??*" He pressed for answers. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"You're deep in space! In The Maze, you will be assigned to your side shortly, do not fret." Rakin smiled. "You're much more inquisitive than the others had been. So I will happily oblige you with some more answers. You are here to participate in our event to prelude the rebirth of the greatest species in the universe. "S-Space? M-Maze??" Errol blinked, clearly confused and startled by the casual explanation. "P-Prelude of rebirth-... Who...." Errol seemed to try tot hink of what else to ask. "This is a tournament. There are winners then...? What- What happens to the losers?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Hah, worried you'll lose again? Don't worry boy, we won't put you in a dungeon.. We'll end your suffering quickly by throwing you out in to the abyss! You'll only be suffering for a few moments before everything is calm again. No need to worry." @Sam | Errol 🖌 + Chris ☀⚡

"Well, that's not quite true." Rakin shook his head and pointed up to the ceiling. There was a greasy handprint against the glass that made up the ceiling, slightly marring the otherwise beautiful view of the galaxies and stars around them. "The abyss will take care of you much swifter than we can. All we do is give you the push." @Sam | Errol 🖌 + Chris ☀⚡

Errol made a face. "...That's like saying the blade killed you, not the person holding the knife..." He mumbled. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"We can throw you out now if you want to put that analogy to the test. Maybe I'll toss out your other two compatriots as well since it'll be much less exciting without you around." @Sam | Errol 🖌 + Chris ☀⚡

"Don't bring him-" Errol practically begged. He had begun trembling. "Why-- Why us?!" He questioned. "Why our group? We've suffered enough!" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Because truthfully, your group would probably be the most entertaining, while also being like mentors to the new people! You've already been through this once, after all.. Hah. And you all managed to get out with most of your limbs! Hopefully you won't have to screw up any more amputations here, hmm? You'll be able to lead all these confused, poor souls through this event! Errol cringed at the amputation comment, biting his lip. "...So we're going to be locked in another hell hole... this is another tournament... with the-... the fighting and the powers and-...?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Yep, ideally all of you will have powers! More interesting that way! But if you lose, you'll hardly have time to mourn the loss of your powers before we throw you out, so.. Rakin held up his bandaged hand in a snapping motion, but didn't yet snap. "I can change you in to one of those jumpsuits if you wish." He smiled. "I planned on letting you stay in your regular outfit, but if you think you'll look so good...?" @Sam | Errol 🖌 + Chris ☀⚡

Errol hesitated. "...Is... Is Devonte okay..? Did you do anything to him? Is he okay?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"The snake child? He's fine. We really have no business with him here. He wouldn't even make an interesting fight. He'd just get pummeled and die. Plus, he doesn't have any real powers.. Errol's eyes widened briefly. "...Don't-... Don't bring Uly... please... Don't risk DJ being without a dad-..." He sounded like he was going to cry almost. How depressing. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

A flash of almost... anger went theough Errol's eyes as he glared at Rakin. "Shut up-" He hissed bitterly. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Rakin stepped in closer, definitely in to kicking range now. He leaned his face in close to Errol's. "Maybe you'll find someone better here. It wouldn't be hard. Ulysses could hardly blame you." @Sam | Errol 🖌 + Chris ☀⚡

Errol managed to land that one square in the joint- Rakin grunted and fell to the ground, taking in some deep breaths. "You insolent, unthinking wretch-" He hissed and pushed himself back up to his feet. He stood oddly on his legs now, not putting weight on that one. "I let you keep your nerve blockers, but you make it really tempting to remove them." @Sam | Errol 🖌 + Chris ☀⚡

Errol grit his teeth as he looked up at Rakin. Part of him wanted to take another cheapshot- maybe hit where it really would count-... But if he had any chance at winning this and getting back to his son he'd need anything he could get. And fighting in a tournament through chronic knee pain would be a handicap in itself. Kicking them around a little, chaining them up like you, I've been thinking about taking the younger one's legs, since her powers could make it a bit problematic... But I worry she would be too easy of a target at that point. And for the older one, hmm, she escaped your first tournament relatively unscathed..
