On the other side of the farmlands, there was a kid sitting in the shade of an orange tree, a bundle of a poorly folded winter coat at her side. It was much hotter than she expected when she got here- and took the first chance she got to peel off her winter coat and big, warm pants. Her t-shirt and overalls were definitely better for this stuff. Despite the switch, though, she seemed much happier here, happily munching on an orange, peel and all. She hadn't explored much, but these farmlands were super pretty already. "Pff," Connie squinted, getting a bit of peel stuck between her teeth. Kian followed after Sovran like a duckling, never straying too far from the older man and the baby in his arms. Seeing the farmland, the boy's eyes sparkled. "Wooow!! T-There's so much stuff here!" Kian laughed and ran ahead of Sovran. He quickly darted around, looking for more oranges and perhaps a few peaches too. Though, as he reached an orange tree, he paused when he saw something, or rather, someone else, also underneath all of the trees. "O-Oh! H-Hi there! Are you getting some fruit too?" Kian asked the stranger with a bright smile. At the sound of people, Connie peered up a bit, though she didn't exactly leave the cozy shade to get a look at them. Too cozy to move. Not that she really needed to though, as someone was already approaching the orange tree she was under. She paused, too, but for only a moment, before she grinned brightly at him. He looked super cool! Super spacey and purpley and like, magic! He looked about her age...maybe kinda older? "Hi!" Connie greeted, still holding the orange in her hands. "I got some fruits, yeah! “Look, Minerva,” Sovran picked an avocado for the baby. “An avocado.” Sovran paused once he handed it to the baby. His heart nearly stopped in his chest as he turned to the source of the new voice. ”Con?” Sovran gasped. "Y-Yeah, they are! I had some oranges e-earlier and-" Kian paused as Sovran popped up behind him. He stepped away a bit from Connie, letting Sovran get a clearer look of the girl before smiling in realization. "O-Oh! You're Connie?? Oh, well, n-now that I think about it, it makes sense. I-I think I saw you before talking to Mr. Sovran," he rambled for a moment before smoothing out his cape a bit. Minerva tried her very best to hold the avocado, but her lack of strength, tiny hands, and the excitement of Connie being around all led to her dropping it on the ground. Connie lifted the orange to her mouth for another bite as the magician guy spoke, listening intently. That was, until he stepped away ever slightly. "I-I think I saw you before talking to Mr. Sovran." "Sovran?" she echoed, staring at the figure a little ways behind him. Was it? Relief sank into her stomach when she recognized that unmistakably familiar figure- a friend, someone she trusted, someone she cared about- and he was here again, he was here- of course he was! The orange dropped to the ground as Connie shot to her feet, and immediately bolted towards him. "Sovran!" she wailed, crashing into his side to hug him. "Sovvy, you're alright! Sovran kept himself and Minerva steady as Connie crashed into his side. The man used his free arm to hug Connie back tightly. It felt as though a weight was lifted off of his shoulders as he hugged the girl. For the first time since they parted ways, he could finally breathe. “I’m fine! I’m fine, Con!” Sovran laughed with relief as he squeezed her. “How ‘bout you, huh? You okay? Got any cuts, bruises? Connie finally managed to peel her face off of Sovran's side, grinning like mad. Her hair was definitely a mess and her face was definitely wet with tears, but she was so happy. So, so relieved, knowing she was back with someone safe and trusted so much again. "I'm good! I'm good! I've been good!" she said, pressing the side of her face against him again. Warm. Comfy. Familiar. Friend. "I've been! Yeah! I've been taking care! Oh, oh, oh, oh!" Looking back at Sovvy again- she could not make up her mind. "I learned Spinjitzu! And got a buncha sticks for fishing rods- but, um, those are back there- and I met so many people, they were all so kind and sweet! Doctor Lykos, this, um! Techy lady, Nora, Cellie, uh, this scary lady, and Aldreda, she's a Golden Eagle, like Dapeng! She's so cool-" "Oh, hello, Babuy Minnie!" she suddenly gasped, lifting her hand for the giggling kiddo to hold if she wanted to. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you there! Hello! Hi!" Oh wow. This girl talked really, really fast, but Kian couldn't help but smile as Connie did so. He bet she'd had a lot of fun things to talk about if they ever got to speak one on one. He still didn't say anything until she addressed them again. "O-Oh, Mr. Sovran said he was holding onto Minerva d-during the last fight and got teleported away before he could hand her back. Miss Jymaiyri should still be a-around here so.. Hearing all the commotion and mostly the baby crying, Jymaiyri got up from where she and Riki had been chilling and went over to where the others were. "Hey, Sovran!" She said, with forced cheeriness. "God, am I glad to see you. Mostly cause you have my kid." Minerva, catching sight of her mother and suddenly becoming overwhelmed with emotion at being around her mom again, burst into tears and reached out for her. "Oh, Minnie darling," Jymaiyri took her baby and held her to her chest. "Minnie baby, I'm here now. I'm here now." In between consoling her baby, she faced the two teens. "Hey Kian, Connie. ) “She missed you a lot, but don’t worry, I took good care of her.” Sovran reassured Jymaiyri. Sovran’s arms felt empty without the baby in them, but it meant that he could hug Connie with both arms. He gave the girl a tight squeeze, lifting her off the ground slightly, before setting her back down. Even though he caught like, 7% of her words, he was still grinning. “Spinjitzu, huh?” He ruffled her hair. “Sounds like you had one heck of an adventure. We can always find new sticks, or I can make us up a fishing rod. We killed a crab earlier, there’s left over meat to use as bait. "Oh- hello, Miss Jymaiyri!" Connie greeted with a little wave, smiling politely. There seemed to be something a little off with Miss Jymaiyri- but granted, her husband was just in the fight prior. Something a little uncanny, maybe? That didn't really feel right to say. Huh. Connie didn't have long to think about it before she was immediately enveloped in Sovran's hug. "WAH-" She squealed a little bit as Sovran lifted her off the ground, hugging him back as best as she possibly could while being airborne. Hugs. Hugs. She missed hugs. Nice, cozy, warm hugs. "Yeah- Spinjitzu! Celena taught me it! She has really pretty light powers and can heal and stuff, too! I think she's here? Or back on the other side. I forgor. You guys killed a crab?!" she suddenly exclaimed, distracted, as usual. "Cellie talked about crabs here! Like- like a big crab or a teeny one- I mean, even if it's tiny, it's still cool, crabs are frickin' scary as crumbs. I caught a crab once, then it ran off and we couldn't find it again." Wow, this group of people turned busy fast. Kian kept wipping his head back and forth to listen to everyone, smiling and nodding each time no matter who spoke. When Jymairyi suddenly came, his smile became a bit sadder. He's seen forced and fake smiles like hers before... It hurt to see it on her. He wanted to express some sort of sympathy or sorry, but figured this wasn't the time. He simply gave Jymaiyri a small bow in greeting before turning back to Sovran and Connie. "Oh! You know Celena too, Connie? I-I just went fishing with her earlier! It was a lot of fun, b-but those crab's pinches hurt, haha. Sovran’s heart fluttered in his chest at his new title: Uncle Sovran. The use of it made him grin. “I was actually ‘bout to cut her up an avocado, I feel like it’s been a while since she’s eaten. I remember you sayin’ those were her favorite.” “Celena’s on this side. I dunno what she’s up to, but I’ve been meanin’ to talk to the kid. If you see her, send her on my way,” Sovran chuckled as he let Connie go. “The crabs here, keep away. There’s some big ones, they’re dangerous. Really big ones.” That’s right, shade and fruit. Connie watched Jymaiyri chat with baby Minnie, something sad tugging at her chest. Oh. Their family looked so tiny and quiet now. She could only imagine what they were like with Mr. Yeonaixho. Not wanting to disturb them, she turned her attention back to the magic guy- Kian- and Sovran. "Mhm! I know Cellie! She was on the other side with me! Prolly before you guys fished, 'cause I just got here." She didn't quite let go of Sovran yet- she was still clinging to his side, fingers holding onto his shirt a little bit. "I can go help look for her with you guys, maybe! I'm pretty fast and zippy and can move real fast!" "I willll definitely stay away from the crabs," she reassured, nodding violently. "O-Oh, yeah, that makes sense. I actually was on the other side before this too, so.." Kian nodded, almost as eagerly as Comnie to match her energy. Something about how excitable Connie was made Kian smile somehow. It was nice to see someone so energetic. "I'm Kian, b-by the way. Sorry, I just realized I didn't introduce myself. I-I think Celena is probably with her sister right now, so.. Uhm.. P-Probably best to give them some space for now." He then turned towards Jymairyi and Minerva, offering an orange to them. (Just gonna continue using this thread lol) Returning after the fight, Kian stumbled backwards onto the ground. He was still temporarily stunned and he grunted as he hit the ground. The boy seemed startled, starting to heave as he just laid on the ground. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Jymaiyri had stayed at the farmland during the fight, and had spent the time alone to feed Minerva and set her down for a nap, as well as get some rest herself. When Kian suddenly reappeared, she slipped the baby back into her sling, and approached the boy, putting a hand to his shoulder. "Whoa- Kian, are you alright?" She asked. "Did the fight not go well?" @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian flinched as he was touched, but relaxed when he recognized Jymaiyri's voice. "M-Miss Jymaiyri..?" He asked and rubbed his eyes for a moment. "The f-fight.. I-It was so strange a-and so much happened, I-I.." Kian went limp on the ground, calming himself down so he didn't possibly upset Minerva. He had assumed she was also there. "It was some s-sort of game..? And they had to answer questions... but then a f-fight broke out—Celena e-exploded?—In this big light and it stunned a lot of us. "Oh- god, that sounds... rough." Jymaiyri gently patted Kian's shoulder in hopes of reassuring him. She couldn't keep the unease out of her voice- Celena exploded? Kian nodded, gulping as he felt the sun dry out his throat. "R-Right, right... I-I mean.. Celena and Nathan d-didn't fight each other, at least. They were fighting Rakin and some other woman.. Slowly, Kian managed to open his eyes just a sliver. He looked up at Jymaiyri, his expression sympathetic and somber. "I'm.. I-I'm sorry about what happened, Miss Jymaiyri.. I-I know it doesn't mean much, but I know it hurts. If y-you or little Minerva need anything, I-I'll do my best to help," he said with a small frown. Jymaiyri sighed, and grimaced. "Don't apologize. It wasn't your fault, what happened to Yeonai." It wasn't her fault either. She had to keep reminding herself of that. She had to keep reminding herself who, exactly, was to blame here. "Thank you. I had some avocado with Minnie, but... I really don't feel like eating right now. Do you want anything to eat? Kian knew it wasn't anyone's fault but Rakin's and well, Mallon's, obviously, but he still felt bad. He sat himself up, sand and dirt sticking to him comedically. "I-I know.. But I'm still sorry. A-And I'm also sorry if it is not my place to say, but it's okay to not force y-yourself to be okay, Miss Jymaiyri... I know you probably n-need to be strong for Minerva.. But grieving is okay," he told her in a gentle manner. "A-And I'm fine, thank you. I'm more worried about you.." "Thank you, Kian." Jymaiyri said, and looked down to the infant in her arms. "I'm trying to. I just... I'm trying not to think about it too much. And I'm tired." "Mhm, if you say so." Despite the earlier mood, Kian's eyes seemed to sparkle just the slightest. "You did..? T-That's amazing, Miss Jymaiyri!" He beamed. "I uhm.. I-I used to have an uncle with plant powers too. He would make me peaches all the time when I asked. A-A lot of flowers too. I guess it makes sense why you're a botanist now, hehe.." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Jymaiyri managed a weak smile at Kian's enthusiasm. "Really? I've heard it's a pretty common power to have. Your uncle sounds very nice, if he was always growing peaches and flowers for you." "Speaking of, there are a few peach trees over that way-" She pointed in the direction of some trees, their boughs bountiful with fruit, "If you want any. I made white ones, and orange ones too. "My uncle was the only one with that sort of power in Laputa.. s-so he was a pretty important person there. Anything he grew would never die or grow old. It was r-really, really cool," Kian smiled fondly as he spoke before turning to look at the trees Jymaiyri pointed out. "O-Oh! I'll definitely go pick out some later. I like the white ones the best," he chuckled softly. "Is there a reason why you specialize in tress, Miss Jymaiyri?" @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Really? That's impressive- my plants age and die like any normal ones." Jymaiyri said. "It's always interesting to hear about powers that are similar to your own." "Mhm, I like the orange ones, but lots of people like white peaches, so I grew both." She had to think about the tree question. "Hmm... I guess I just like them. There's a lot of interesting trees out there. I knew when I started studying botany I wanted to study trees specifically." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian nodded, his smile growing a bit brighter. "Mhm! M-My uncle grew the royal garden when he was officiated as a knight and it's still there today! I miss him a lot.. I wonder if they've changed anything about the garden since I've been gone from home," he hummed in thought. "That's really nice of you, Miss Jymaiyri. I-I appreciate it. And yeah, I guess trees are pretty cool. Which ones your favorite kind..? I like those really, realllllyy big red ones. Uhm.. the old ones that make a big forest.. "It'd be nice, for them to have kept it like it was. At least, that's what I'd think." Jymaiyri let her gaze drift to her surroundings. She refocused on Kian when he asked about her favorite tree. "Oh! Sequoias are probably what you're thinking of, they're the biggest trees in the world. Unless you're talking height, in which coastal redwoods take the crown. Both are amazing, but my favorite trees are mangroves. They grow along coasts and rivers- you might've seen them before, they're the ones with the big mass of roots above the water. "Yeah, it would be. It's been over a few decades since I've been back t-there.. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it," he shrugged with a small smile. The boy listened dutifully as Jymaiyri explained about the trees, genuinely interested in what she had to say. "Y-Yes, those ones! I can't believe I remembered correctly," he chuckled. "And I-I think I know what you're talking about! There are a lot in Africa and South America I think! Mangrove forests are really cool too. I-I feel like they can go on forever," he smiled. "They're incredible. I'll always remember the first time I saw one in person." Jymaiyri nodded. "Hmm... there's a bunch of different trees all over the Loucari, though most are similar to trees you can find in other places. One interesting one is the Great South Loucari Ficus- it's like a normal fig tree, but about two-or-three times the normal size. There was one not too far from where I grew up- they're absolutely incredible. And the fruit's really good, too!" @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

He scooted a bit closer to Jymaiyri, wanting to remember all of the information being provided to him. "Woah.. t-that sounds wonderful! Can.. can you make one for me to see in person, Miss Jymaiyri? I've seen some in person before that were a-already pretty big.. but three times as big? That's humongous!" Kian chuckled and waved his hand in an expanding motion. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Kian they're- pretty big," She laughed. "I think if I tried to grow one here, there wouldn't be much space for anything else. And it'd take a lot of energy, that I don't have- at least right now." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"Awhh.. Well, m-maybe next time then," Kian playfully pouted, before laughing along with Jymaiyri. "Hm.. can you make any plant, Miss Jymaiyri? Despite its age or origin?" He curiously asked. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Next time." Jymaiyri agreed. "Hmm... I think so? I haven't ever found a plant I couldn't grow, but I've found it easier to grow plants I'm familiar with." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian didn't seem too reassured by Jymaiyri's answer, but he nodded once again. "Sorry..." He said again, but wasn't really sure what he was even apologizing for.
