Yeonaixho and Jymaiyri followed Nathan and Lykos, sticking pretty close to each other until they reached the beach. Then, Jymaiyri lingered back with baby Minerva while Yeonaixho followed Nathan and Lykos. Minerva seemed to be calming down now that she was away from Kiran. "I'll stay back and let you experiment until you need me." Yeonaixho said, "Which hopefully, should be never." @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺 @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

“Yes, hopefully never.” They turned to Nathan. “What will you change first?” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Hm, I'unno, really," Nathan hummed, bouncing a little on his feet. His legs were still pretty bull like, all things considered, so it was less of a bounce and more of just a weird sort of shuffle. "Maybe full goat? I'unno. I feel like I should definitely start smaller. Like, arms, or torso instead of, hey, ho, full-on goat mode. I'unno." "Hm, but it'd kinda be more of a chimera than anything," Nathan mused, "but not, like, fully? It's just bull half, goat half, chimeras are more...liony. Goat, snake. Hm." After a moment of scrunched up thinking, Nathan shook his head, his hair going every which way. But when it had finally settled (and the dizziness had left his eyes), there was now a pair of ram horns had formed, sticking out from the top of his head. Said ram horns were accompanied by a pair of very brownish goat ears. The goat ears twitching was an interesting addition to this mostly humany body, and Nathan began scratching like mad at it. "Ram, goat, and bull?" Nathan hissed through his teeth. "Agh, Apollo. At least it wasn't any bone stuff yet, huh?" @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺 @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Yeonaixho, being who he was, didn't show much reaction to the strictly-visual changes Nathan had made to his body. He stood a ways off to the side, his arms crossed over his chest, waiting for the moment things turned for the worse. Jymaiyri was even further away, sitting on the sand with Minerva. The baby, at least, seemed pretty invested in all the goings-on, and Jymaiyri was explaining it to her. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Lykos was fucking ecstatic. “Haha!! Wonderful!! Excellent, excellent work! What does it feel like?!” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"It feels like itchy," Nathan groaned. "Itchy and prickly, and, and, eeugh. But, like, science and bones and all? Fine. Nothing outta place." He was measuring...something, now. The distance between the spot between his eyes and his hand, held a little further out. "You were gonna say document stuff, right?" he asked, a little focused on his hand. "Tell me if it starts to hurt." Yeonaixho cautioned. "Don't push yourself." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Itch, interesting.. perhaps your body is attempting to return itself to a natural state.” They moved a little closer to look him over. “Ah- I cannot really document, I.. I cannot write. Still, always good to document experiments. It allows you to access data and what works and doesn’t. What to improve.” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

CW: body disfigurment? unsure of how to describe, "Huh, maybe," they hummed, nose kind of scrunched in thought. "But I don't think I've ever felt itchy when like, doing the axe stuff, or whatever. 'S'just my ears and stuff." Something was shifting, slow, yet steady. They inhaled through their teeth before trying to distract themself from the shifting of bone and flesh as they spoke. "That's fair- I do that too with my pottery- glazes, most of the time. Test tiles, uh, I usually make a few of them to see how the glaze works when layered and, and fired, y'know? Like, if I use two Dandelion and one Mossy, is it gonna be murky, or kind of light-er- ah, ah- AH-" The entire time, Nathan had been trying to shift his face into one of a goat's to accompany the ram horns and ears he had developed earlier. But as most projects of his tended to go, it went...awry. A majority of his face had been going along pretty well, but his nose, and the rest of his frickin' damn jaw seemed to have shifted in a different way entirely. Smushed flat at the nose, jaw all rough and uneven, not at all fitting in with the rest of his skull. Yeah, no, that did not feel like a skull. "Gwuhgh," Nathan fumbled out, the words feeling heavy and strange in his mouth. Mouth? "Blugh- ough, argh, that feels weird man!" He was covering his face at this point, trying to hold his shifting jaw in place and simultaneously turn away from the little family. It didn't seem to be hurting, though? Minerva had been watching with intent as Nathan experimented, but her expression shifted to one of fear as he seemed to be in pain. Jymaiyri was even more disturbed, and turned her baby away from this mess. "Nathan, are you alright?" Yeonaixho approached the younger man, but wouldn't lay hands on him unless he said explicitly that he needed healing. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Lykos’ ears pinned back at the sight. “The- the skull is- it’s much different in a goat! Perhaps it’s best to- to start with something simpler?” Beginning a transformation with such a sensitive area was dangerous. "It doesn't- hurt," Nathan managed to say, breathing in deep, shaky breaths. It was all funny feeling, but it didn't feel like anything was broken, either. Not that he broke any bones when he was a kid. Resilient little Nathaniel. "It doesn't. Hurt? It doesn't, hurt." "I'm alright, Nai'o- thanks, thanks." They were peeking a little bit through their fingers, still covering their face a little. "I just- just got scared, that's all. But I'm alright." A little pause. "Um. My jaw was just acting up again. But I'm alright, thanks." He turned away from the group fully now, trying to fix some...stuff while only relying on the touchy-feely aspect of it. "At least when I did this before, I knew how I looked like," they grumbled. Fur. Damn. He was gonna look really weird like this. "I should really shut up for this before I mess it up more. Okay. Okay." Running their fingers along the underside of their face, it all felt pretty normal again. Well, as normal as it could be for a goat head. The jaw, now properly smooth and in place felt just right again. The muzzle was rounded again, and the addition of beigeish-colored fur brought the entire transformation together. "Hey, not bad!" Nathan cheerfully said, despite the rattle in their voice. They still seemed a little thrown off by what happened earlier. "Nyaagh, it still feels weird to talk. Uh- I didn't- feel any sort of pain when doing that? I mean, it was really. Uncomfortable. But it was fine, just mostly startled me." Yeonaixho, still not the most aware of all that had happened, shifted uncomfortably. "Nathan, please. Don't push yourself." At least Minerva seemed to enjoy the show again, even if her mom looked unnerved. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Lykos watched as much as Nathan allowed with him holding his face. She was smiling, caught up in wonder and pride for Nathan figuring it out. “You did it!! Amazing work! And it doesn’t hurt you, wonderful!! What fascinating magic..!” He circled Nathan, observing with great interest. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺 @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Nah, all's good, all's good!" they reassured, continuing to scratch at their ears again. "It feels. A little weird. But I think that's 'cause I haven't really gotten used to all this yet." After a moment, a look of concern fell on their goatly face. "But it should...definitely have hurt when I messed up. Bones and stuff considered. I- I figured, y'know, bones and- and- stuff. It should have hurt when I messed up, but I was fine, just uncomfortable." It was certainly puzzling, the entire 'bone thing', quote-unquote. "I'm, like, pretty sure I have bones. Am I going crazy? Yeonaixho didn't reply, and looked like he was thinking over something. Eventually, he admitted. "I can figure out if you have bones. If you want." After a pause. "My... powers allow me to detect things about someone's body- typically old injuries and the like, but I'd definitely be able to figure out if you have bones. And what condition they're in." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Hmm.. Well, it is possible that your bones and innards are made of the same malleable material as your skin. The skin is just another organ, so I suppose it would make sense for the rest of them to easily shift. Mm, good idea, Yeonaixho.” They stepped back a little from Nathan. "That would be pretty helpful," Nathan considered, stroking the little bit of goat fuzz he now had. He was considering a multitude of things- that maybe transforming...didn't actually change all the bones 'n stuff? (But that didn't make sense in terms of his leg...) "'Specially since we can't really...see inside of the bones and everything." He got a little closer to Yeonaixho, eventually tapping a little bit on his arm to signal he was there. "Alrighty." Yeonaixho took Nathan's hand in his own, feeling his fingers and the bony parts of his knuckles. As he used his powers, a strange, tingly, warm feeling would wash over Nathan. It would only last a few seconds before Yeonaixho reached his conclusion. "Yeah, you don't have any bones." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

They watched Yeonaixho work his magic, attentive and curious about the warm, tingling sensation that ran along him. He didn't really get to see his magic in action before, and he was about to ask how exactly this worked before Yeonaixho spoke up. "What do you mean I don't have any bones," Nathan blankly repeated. "Bones? I don't have bones." "Wh- why are you not as concerned about this?" they slowly said, forcing themself to inhale through their teeth. Sharp. Hot. Damp air. "I'm missing bones. Bones." "Wait, no, do it again." They turned back to Yeonaixho, clasping another hand on top of his. "No bones? Bones? No bones? How does that work? What?" They seemed to be handling this...well. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺 @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

"Yeah, you're made of this kind of- clay-like material. I figure it's because of your powers- sometimes your powers can alter your bodily composition, I've seen it before. Though, this is a bit of an extreme case." He startled as Nathan took his and again. "Oh- uh, sure." He repeated the same process, and came to the same conclusion. "Yeah, you definitely don't have bones. Not like most people do. I'm not detecting anything." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

They tilted their head at Nathan’s reaction. “Having no bones is nothing to be concerned about. You’re clearly getting along just fine. Truly, a lack of bones and having such a unstatic form is a wonderful thing! Think of the possibilities!” They really didn’t see anything wrong with this. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"I had bones," Nathan wheezed. "I- I'm pretty sure I did!" With a shake of his head, he was back to his old self again, messy, scruffy hair and human (human?) face and all. "I- I mean- I guess it makes sense?" he tried to say, brows wrinkled deep in thought. "But- I swear, there should be. Something. In there, it can't just be- everyone needs! Bones! To stand up and shit!" They swore they could hear their neck crack (neck???) as they whirled around to stare at Doctor Lykos, dismayed- "the possibilities is 'cause 'm'bones are missin'." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺 @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

"My sensing abilities aren't the most sophisticated- it's really only good for detecting injuries but... that's just what I was able to deduce." Yeonaixho raised his hands, attempting to calm Nathan down a bit. "The good thing is, it doesn't seem like there's anything wrong- this is just the way your body is." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Precisely, nothing is wrong. Bones are only really meant to provide structure, you clearly don’t need that. Nothing is missing.” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Ough, that's a relief, docs," Nathan lied, pressing their palms into their eyes. "Hoo. Okay. I think I'm gonna take a break on this whole experiment thing. Maybe." Bluh. The existential type beat dread of not having bones (which was a normal person thing, as he was a normal person. Thing.) was starting to take a toll on him. "'Kay. Hadeees. Almighty. Who wants crabs? Let's get crabs! I'm gonna get crabs. Food-crabs." Tying his jacket firmly around his waist, Nathan did a precise 180 and marched off towards the stream. He needed some water in his face. "We don't need any more crab! We killed the big one!" Jymaiyri shouted from her spot on the beach. Yeonaixho didn't have anything to add on that front. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Lykos sat in the sand, watching as Nathan walked off. “Hm, Strange. I’d be rather happy at that revelation.” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Nathan had already marched off a distance away, prepared to fistfight some crabs or something.

"Well... that was strange." Yeonaixho said to Lykos, and started making his way back to Jymaiyri. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Indeed.” Well, with Nathan gone, and Lykos not wanting to intrude on the family, they were done here. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺
