Kian walked to the beach with Sovran, a slight skip to his feet. He beamed when he saw the waves and suddenly dashed forward into the sand. "Wow!! Y-You know, for a beach in the middle of space, this is quite the view!" Kian gasped with a smile. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran shoved his hands into his pockets as he watched Kian scamper closer to the shoreline. He smiled at the sight, beaming with pride as he watched the kid take in his surroundings. "It ain't so bad taking a look at everythin', there's some pretty sights here. This beach definitely's one of 'em." He stepped closer to the shoreline and squatted down, lowering a hand to the water. A wave met his finger tips. "Nice an' cool." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

He quickly dashed over to the water, tossing off his boots before running in. Some water definitely splashing onto Sovran as Kian hopped around. Seems like he was temporarily distracted form his very important training. "Hehe! Yeah, it is really nice!" Kian beamed, letting the waves hit his shins and knees. "It's definitely going to f-feel nice when I hop in later." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran didn’t mind being splashed. In fact, he didn’t notice it at all. All he could focus on was Kian’s bright smile and his excitement. The kid deserved to act and be like a kid, even if it was just for a few precious moments. To be a witness to this truly did mean a lot to Sovran. “It’ll feel nice and relaxing for sure. If you feel sore later, a good soak’ll definitely make you feel better.” Sovran commented. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian nodded, splashing around for a few more minutes. He giggled and laughed, just enjoying the warmth of the sun contrasting with the cold freshness of the water. It was only when he looked back at Sovran did he remember why they were out here in the first place. Right. Training. Kian shouldn't be wasting time with playing around. He made his way over to the older man and smiled at him. "O-Okay, I'm ready to start now," Kian nodded. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Alright, bud,” Sovran hummed. “I remember you sayin’ your powers were like roulette, right? Is there a particular one you wanna practice in or can choose? We can start with any power otherwise then.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Shaking off the water from his legs, Kian peered up at Sovran with a lopsided smile. "Uhm.. N-No, that's kinda the part I need to get down first--Actually choosing a power to use a-at a singular time," he replied. "I-It might be easier to show you what I mean by demonstrating it.." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“If you don’t mind showin’ me, I’d appreciate seein’ how it’d work,” Sovran smiled. “Then, I might be able to Replicate it, with your approval, of course.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian nodded. "I-I don't know how exactly you would Replicate it, but you are free to do so to any of the powers I have," he replied and knelt down into the sand. He stuck his hand into the sandy shore, his brows furrowing a bit as he focused. A bit of time past, yet nothing happened at first. Kian huffed, a bead of sweat dropping into the sand. "C'mon.." The prince took his hand out, then put it back in, this time with a bit more 'umph'. The sand under his hand suddenly turned to glass. "Woah! I-I guess it's the transformation power this time.." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“If the roulette is the main power, then that’s what I should be able to Replicate. It’s just me thinkin’ that it’ll likely ‘roulette’ through the powers that I have available to me.” Sovran speculated. “From there, I might be able to figure it out, or at least try to.” Sovran looked intrigued. "Ohh.. I-I see. That makes sense, Mr. Sovran," Kian nodded as he looked up at the other man. He then smiled a bit as he looked down at the glass. "Mhm.. It's a really interesting power.. T-The doctor who I got it from was such a kind woman.." The prince commented before shifting the glass to the side. Kian focused again, his brows knotting as a familiar warmth spread from his chest. He held his hand out, and in his palm grew a steady red flame. "O-Oh, I-I've been getting my mother's fire power lately. M-Maybe I'm getting a better handle on this one.." “It’s an interestin’ one for sure. Think one of the kids back home had a similar ability, never bonded with them enough for a Remnant, but they handled the power well enough. They’d turn some of the ice back home into water.” Sovran hummed. At the sight of the flames, Sovran smiled. “Maybe the elements you’ve had the most interaction with are the ones that you’ll be able to summon yourself. Kian beamed a little at the thought. Was he really getting better? It was possible, right? After all, he's summoned his mother's fire twice just fine in the same day. "M-Maybe you're right, Mr. Sovran. Hold on.. let me see what else I can do right now.." The boy's flame died out into smoke and Kian put his hand back down on top of the sand. Perhaps Kian shouldn't have been so confident though. Focusing on the energy running through his veins, Kian could feel a heat starting to build up at his fingertips. He tried to control it, but it was too much energy at once. Bright blue sparks zapped up his arm, causing Kian to gasp in pain. "Ugh—S-Shoot-!" He grunted as he trapped his hand and arm under the sand, trying to get the electricity to stop spreading to nearby objects—Primarily Sovran. “On it, bud-!” Sovran reassured. He could feel the slight sting to his eyes as they glimmered gold. He remained a good distance from Kian, but- Maybe he needed to be closer to ensure it’d work. “I gotta move closer, bud, it ain’t workin’ from this far back,” Sovran spoke. “Just stay calm, it’s goin’ to be alright.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Gritting his teeth from the pain, Kian could only really nod. Sparks of blue appeared from underneath the sand, and some bolts struck above ground too. It seemed to be drawn to the point Kian summoned with his hand. Tears prick the corner of his eyes as Kian tried to remain still and retain his lightning to himself. Sovran moved closer to Kian, desperate to save the boy. He made eye contact with Kian as he moved closer, and then, he felt the click of the severance of Kian’s abilities. It would be an instant off switch to cancel his powers. “There, there we go, there we are,” Sovran’s eyes continued to burn as he kept up Nullify. He rushed to Kian’s side, looking over the boy for injuries. “Easy now, Kian, it’s over. Let’s have a look at you, okay? You okay? What hurts? The flash of blue died down the moment Sovran severed his powers, and just for a moment, Kian felt all of the outside energy that occupied his body suddenly freeze. All twenty powers, suddenly rigid. Not gone, but not in his control either. Slowly, Kian pulled his arm out from the sand, revealing red streaks going up from his fingertips to his elbow. The boy winced as his burns were exposed to sunlight and he moved his arm under the shade of his cape. "T-Thank you, Mr. Sovran.. I have not used the lightning powers once while here s-so.. So I still can't control it very well." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Lightnin’s a rough element, I got my fair share of struggles with it,” Sovran offered Kian a small smile. He saw Kian’s injuries, and navigating Nullify, he summoned Light at the same time above Kian. “Lemme take care of that for you, bud. It’ll be alright.”

There was visible relief on Kian's face when Sovran healed him. The scars quickly faded and his arm looked good as new. "Thank you, M-Mr. Sovran. Yeah.. the person I got this power from was quite fierce. They were built m-much differently from me, which helped them control their power with ease. I should of asked them more about their power.." “Maybe I can still try and lend a hand with that, but even I don’t have much control over my own aspect of lightnin’ that I got,” Sovran sighed. “All I can do is redirect it. Maybe even charge a phone if I wanted to. Lightnin’ is a wild power as it is, it’s difficult to control.” He paused. “Maybe next time you get it, maybe you can try controlling some shots and direct ‘em at me. I could send it off in a different direction.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian nodded, still a bit shaken, but feeling better with Sovran's words. "Y-Yeah.. maybe," he replied, thinking for a moment. "M-Maybe I should tell you about all the powers I have s-so we can be prepared in case something happens like the lightning again, Mr. Sovran," Kian suggested. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Sounds good to me. Better not to take either of us by surprise, huh?” Sovran offered Kian a grin. “You can write it out by the sand, and leave a mark by the powers that you might have some trouble controllin’, like the lightnin’.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

He glanced over to the empty patch of sand and nodded. "O-Oh! Good idea, Mr. Sovran," Kian smiled and wobbled towards a good spacious spot. Kian took some time to write--It was twenty powers, after all, but once it was all said and done, his powers were listed out like this:

"Poison and blood a-always hurts my body immediately. Electricity, water, and explosion h-hurt if I don't control it well enough. My time and portal powers are chaotic a-and I don't have the experience to use them correctly. The rest of the powers are either not physical, o-or don't harm me, even if I fail to use them correctly." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu (edited)

Sovran watched as Kian wrote out his powers in the sand. It definitely was an impressive list. As Kian explained the abilities he struggled with, Sovran nodded his head and took mental notes. He definitely needed to be on top of his Nullify. “I gotcha, Kian,” Sovran nodded. “Can you give me a bit more information? ‘Bout poison and blood in particular. How do those affect your body, bud? What’s the first immediate sign I should look out for?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

(Cw: minor gore) At the question, Kian visibly frowned. "The poison power is why I only have o-one arm," he replied as he held the end of his stub. "It attacks the user at its weakest point a-and if you don't control it, it will eventually kill you. Blood is similar, in which if you don't control it properly, your body's blood will begin to attack itself." "T-The poison is obvious as it will ooze from a certain point from my body. My arm is gone.. b-but I don't know what the next 'weakest' part of my body is. With the blood one, I'll throw up blood almost immediately.." Kian explained. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran winced slightly. Fuck, so that’s the power that caused Kian to lose his arm. He wished he could entirely take the power from the kid- … Well, that wasn’t something he had ever tried before. Replicate only ever copied, never taken. He had never tried direct contact for a long time to absorb a power. Would a strong emotional bond with that long physical contact perhaps allow him to take the power? A theory he’d be willing to try. “If poison’s somethin’ that comes up,” Sovran spoke. “Lemme try and see if I could not only nullify it, but try taking it. Let’s just- See if that’s somethin’ I can do. If that’s something you’d want me to try, of course.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian looked up at Sovran, a mixed expression on his face. Take one specific power of his? Would that even be possible? Kian wasn't even sure where his power started and the ones he's taken ended. It all seemed to blur together for him. "T-Take it..?" Kian repeated, unsure. "I don't know, Mr. Sovran.. I'm usually the one doing the taking, a-and even if you get the power, I don't want you having to deal with it. The woman I took these powers from was only a few years away from death, and she was younger than you. W-What will happen if you take them..?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“The thing is, I got nullify on my back,” Sovran offered Kian a reassuring grin. “I’ll force myself to learn and manage it, and then shut it off immediately once it becomes too much. I got plenty of time ahead of me to get it down-pat, it’ll be fine, bud.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

The prince still seemed a bit unsure, but nodded. Right, unlike himself, Sovran actually had a way to control his own powers. Kian was a bit jealous of that. "Alright.. o-okay, yeah. If you think you can handle it, Mr. Sovran, then.. I-I guess if it does come up, we can try," Kian confirmed. He glanced back down to his list of powers in the sand and suddenly pointed to one. "I apologize if I accidentally get you with either mind reading o-or fortune telling as well. They don't hurt or anything.. but I feel as though they can be quite invasive. Since you are the closest person to me, the powers will activate according to you, Mr. Sovran." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

"Tryin' never hurts, an' if it does, I got healin', so we'll be okay." Sovran nodded his head. "An' thanks for the heads up on that. I'll try to keep my thoughts relatively alright for ya." He wouldn't think of traumatic lore, nope. He'll think of something sweet, like fruit. He loved fruits. They didn't have much of it back home, at least, not much for him to indulge in them like he would've liked. Apricots were great. Plums were nice. Perfect, these were the perfect thoughts to have. Right, right. And Sovran could heal. What a handy power. If only his sun powers operated in a way that could do more of that. Kian took in a deep breath and nodded, sitting up right in the sand as he put his hand down in front of him again. He closed his eyes, letting energy bubble up from deep within. This energy started from the center of his chest, slowly building before spreading through the rest of his body. An energy of faint white light formed over Kian, before suddenly, three shining white cards appeared on the sand between him and Sovran. They had the same white glow that was now covering Kian, seemingly steaming in the sun. Blinking, Kian opened his eyes and looked down at the cards with a puzzled expression. "O-Oh.. This is the fortune telling ability I just mentioned to you, Mr. Sovran," Kian explained after a moment. "If you uhm, flip over the cards, from your left to right, it reads out your past, present, and future in tarot arcanas. I-It is quite the interesting ability." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu (edited)

"Fortune tellin', huh?" Sovran hummed. "Bein' honest, I've never had my fortune get told to me by someone before. Dunno too much about this stuff, but I always thought it was real interestin'. Let's have ourselves a look, huh?" With that, Sovran flipped over the cards from his left to his right. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian watched quietly, but intently as Sovran flipped over the cards. For each card Sovran flipped, the card would lose its glow, then slowly fade into a tarot. At the bottom of each card, laid a description. The first card revealed the Five of Cups, upright. 'You feel disappointed, regretful, and sorrowful. There is something holding you back in your life, a mistake made or an opportunity missed. You often blame yourself for what happened, filled with regret, and unable to forgive yourself. However, that doesn't mean you should wallow in this sadness forever. Take a look around you. There are new opportunities to look forward to. You must move forward.' @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran's slight smile disappeared into a frown as he read the description. The man crossed his arms over his chest, thinking deeply about just what it told him. ".. Well, that's definitely pretty spot on," He admitted with a huffed laugh. "Seems like it's really callin' me out on some stuff." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian could easily tell the shift in mood from Sovran, and after reading the card, the prince could vaguley understand why. The prince couldn't help but be curious, "...C-Can I ask why it's accurate, Mr. Sovran?" A pause. "W-When I tried to get a reading done in the past, it didn't work.. So I was not sure how accurate it would be, honestly. I-I apologize if it is difficult to speak about. You don't have to tell me." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

"Nah, it's alright, bud, it's just- Complicated." Sovran's slight grin returned as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I've done a lot of things in my life- Made plenty of choices, got plenty of regrets, you know how it is. There's one above the others that I regret the most, but- It's like the card said, I shouldn't 'wallow in this sadness forever.'" The man sighed. "It's just easier said than done. The boy nodded, giving Sovran a symapthetic look. "I see.. I'm.. sorry to hear that, Mr. Sovran," Kian said as he awkwardly clutched his cape in his hand. "I'm sure it was difficult to get through. I-I hope you only see better things from here," Kian offered with a small smile. "W-What's the next card say..?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

"Ah, don't worry about it, no need to apologize," Sovran waved his hand. "It's just part of life. You make some choices, think about what-ifs, the usual. It is what it is at this point." With that, he flipped the next card. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Still, Kian felt sad for Sovran. He couldn't help but think the man wasn't being entirely honest with how hurt he feels, but Kian figured there was a reason Sovran was being so vague. So, he focused his attention back to the card. The next card was The Star, reversed. 'You feel lost, disconnected, and unable to trust in yourself. You often wonder how things ended up the way they did. Things were going so well, and then they weren't. You're losing faith in the things you used to believe in. This is a moment to reconnect with your values and consider things important to you. Take the time to rest, heal, and regain your light. For a moment, Sovran simply stared at the description. A small part of him felt enraged by being called out in such a way, but over all, exhaustion out-weighed any other emotion. The man did his best to hide his expression. "Well, I'll be damned," Sovran ran a hand through his hair. He let out a whistle before speaking somewhat awkwardly. "This one's- A real doozy. These cards are real accurate. I'll, uh, definitely have to take some mental notes 'bout what they're sayin'." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian frowned deeply as he saw this card. He had hoped Sovran had found something better now... but this is how Sovran currently was. If the first card was scarily accurate to Sovran's past, this card couldn't have been too far off either about his present. He watched for a moment to see how Sovran would react, his grip on his cape tighter. "..M-Mr. Sovran, do you.. really feel this way about yourself?" The boy asked in a hushed voice, almost afraid to cross a line here. He looked at Sovran with heavy worry in his eyes and almost seemed tearful. How could a person like Sovran doubt himself so much? @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran didn't want the kid worrying about him, and he most definitely didn't want the kid to cry over him. The man made himself smile as he raised his hands slightly. "Easy, easy there, bud," Sovran made himself chuckle. "Don't we all feel lost at some point in our lives? It's fine, I'm workin' through it. It'll be alright." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"N-No, it's not alright, Mr. Sovran," Kian frowned. "You're such a good person, a-and really kind, and understanding. I can tell you're strong t-too. You should believe in yourself more, like you tell me to be," the boy rambled. "Y-You act so confident and calm.. yet you don't believe it yourself? That's.. so sad, Mr. Sovran. A good person, huh? Kind, understanding- Sovran almost wanted to chuckle. He might've seemed that way because it was how he simply wanted to present himself. Confidence, a veil of calm, a sense of courage- It all came from a place where he wished it was genuine. The intent was genuine, he wanted desperately to comfort others, but he truly wished the emotion was real. Now wasn't the time to deep dive into his brain, not with the kid before him. "We're all our worst critic, right?" Sovran's grin remained. "Everyone's got their own self-doubts and got moments where they don't believe in themselves. Like I said, bud, I'm workin' through it, you don't gotta worry 'bout me, really. An' you don't gotta be sorry for me, either. It's all good, I promise." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

There it was, again and again. 'Things would be okay. You don't have to worry. It's alright. Don't worry about me.' How many times had Kian heard that over, and over, and over again from the people he cared about? And every time, it ended in disaster. If Sovran thought his words would soothe Kian, it did just the opposite. "W-Why won't you let me care about you, Mr. Sovran?" Kian asked in a hurt voice, his gaze falling to the sand between them. "Am I-I just more of a burden on you if I worry..?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“No no, no no no, bud, you’re not a burden at all,” Sovran’s hands rested on Kian’s shoulders. He gave the boy a small squeeze, hoping to get his point across. “Don’t you ever think that you are to me, okay?” He sighed. “I know you said not to look at you as a kid, but I can’t help it. You’re physically younger. I’m the adult between the two of us: I shouldn’t be the one burdenin’ you with any of my issues. That’s the way it goes with parents and children. I should be strong for you.” The man paused for a moment. “But- You can care ‘bout me, just as I care ‘bout you. I guess I’m- Just not quite used to folks worryin’ ‘bout me.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian looked up at Sovran as he put his hands on his shoulders, his eyes still a bit watery. He understood full well what Sovran was saying--He's heard this before too. So, so many times before. Without saying anything, Kian hugged Sovran. Tightly, almost like Sovran was going to crumble away if he didn't. The boy trembled and hid his face from the older man. "..I-I don't want to see you lose yourself, Mr. Sovran. You don't always have to be strong. It's okay," Kian quietly reassured him. "S-So many people around me used to tell me the same things.. bottling things up until it was too late. My mom, my mother, my uncles, my sisters.. A-All of them... I just want you to take care of yourself." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

It took Sovran a moment to truly process Kian’s words. As his brain worked, his arms wrapped around Kian to give him a tight and comforting hug. “I’m sorry,” Sovran found that the words were leaving his lips. “I’m sorry. I’ll take care of myself, honest. I won’t lose myself along the way, either. I swear to you, Kian.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Finally, Kian's shoulders seemed to relax. Just a tad. He let out a deep held sigh, squeezing Sovran with his one arm. "I-I will hold you to it then, Mr. Sovran. I'm sure Connie and Miss Jymaiyri would wish the same for you too," Kian somberly said. After a beat, Kian let Sovran go, still looking down, but less worried, at least. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran gave a small chuckle and gave Kian another squeeze. “I promise the three of you, then, that I’ll take care of myself. I’ll work on bein’ more open and honest to myself and others, promise.” When Kian let go, so did Sovran. Though, he couldn’t help himself from ruffling the kid’s hair as he pulled away. His other hand went to the card. “It’ll be alright,” The man grinned as he flipped the last card. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian closed his eyes when Sovran ruffled his hair, the faintest of smiles on his lips. He hoped that meant Sovran's future card was something good. Lastly, the card revealed was the Ten of Swords, upright. 'Soon, a painful yet inevitable ending will begin. It will be unexpected and shocking. All things must come to an end, good and bad. Sovran’s smile remained on his face as he read over it. A feeling of dread, yet acceptance, washed over his body. That could refer to so many things in his life. “Huh,” Sovran hummed. “That one’s- Definitely a not so good card. Whatever faint smile Kian had immediately faded as he read this card. All of the cards so far have been awful, but somehow, this car ended up being the worst. It was so vague and ominous. Kian's thoughts immediately went to negative things, but the sliver of optimism in his mind still tried to rationalize it. "M-Maybe it means you will finally overcome those bad feelings you have, Mr. Sovran?" Kian weakly suggested. The pit of his gut told Kian the card definitely did not mean that, but the boy didn't want to think about any of the other possibilities. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Kian nodded, leaning back in his seat as he stared down at the cards. They continued to glow in the sun, but with a quick swipe of his hand, the cards crumbled and disappeared. Yeah, Kian didn't want to linger on Sovran's fortunes. Moving onto another power to test would surely get him to focus again. Unfortunately, Kian didn't have luck on his side either. Putting his hand down on the sand again, Kian closed his eyes to focus. Almost instantly, Kian let out a sharp yelp as purple acid started to burn through the boy's right arm--what was still left of it, at least. The gold to Sovran’s eyes flashed again. Nullify attempted to get a lock in on Kian again, but it failed. Cursing, Sovran stepped towards Kian and closed the distance. He rested his hands on Kian’s shoulders. “I’m sorry, I had to get closer, I’m gonna try again,” Sovran promised. “I need you to take some deep breaths, bud, deep breaths. This is your body: this power doesn’t own you. Imagine yourself pushing it back, even pushing it onto me. As soon as Sovran saw the tears, something in him snapped right into place. He pulled the boy in for a tight hug with one arm wrapping around him while one hand went to the back of Kian’s head to gently guide his head to rest on his shoulder. Locked on. The gold of his eyes shined brightly as he imagined his Nullify acting as a cage that wrapped around the Poison. The cage grew smaller and smaller around the ability, completely stopping it in its tracks. The gold of Nullify quickly became that of a dark blue, and the cage began to form a lock upon it. This was unfamiliar to Sovran, but he let it keep occurring. If this was a temporary or permanent lock, he’d find out soon enough. “You did good, Ki,” Sovran softly reassured Kian. “You did good, I stopped it.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

(Cw: gore) Kian's sobs muffled as he was rested on Sovran's shoulder. He shook in Sovran's hold as the poison finally subsided, feeling a part of himself become empty. Thankfully, the poison only got up to Kian's forearm, but the smell of rotting, burned flesh and blood filled the air. Small hiccups came from Kian as he slumped against Sovran, reeling from the same pain and trauma he experienced the first time he lost his arm. It hurt to move, breathe. Kian never thought he'd have to feel something like this again. Sovran's soft voice was faint in Kian's ear, but it kept him grounded to reality. That he was in the arms of someone safe and reassuring. Someone who is helping him and keeping him from completely destroying himself. He couldn't speak at first. “I know, I know, I know it hurts,” Sovran gently shushed. “I’ll make it all better, I promise.” Above them both, light began to form. While keeping a tight grasp on Poison, Sovran summoned Light that focused on Kian. It worked rapidly to soothe and heal the damage dealt to Kian. Its touch was warm and gentle as it got to work. Within just a few short moments, Kian would be healed. Sovran kept a tight and reassuring hold on Kian. His hand began to rub soothing circles against the boy’s back. The burning sensation of the poison was numbed by Sovran's light, making Kian breath out a shaky sigh of relief. The boy continued to take in deep breaths as he slumped against Sovran, small whimpers and coughs escaping him every once in a while. What burns and lost skin was caused by the poison just now were faded and healed, but his arm still remained missing as it was before he summoned the poison. Kian clutched his right forearm, squeezing it like it would rid of the poison. "I-I'm s-sorry.." Kian mumbled. "I'm s-sorry.. I-I can't control it.." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

There were mixed feelings in Kian's chest as he listened to Sovran. Guilt, relief, and pain were the main things. He felt guilty that he was making Sovran worry about him, relieved that Sovran was here, and pain in general. "I-I really did try.." He hiccups. "I can't.. Taking in deep breaths, Kian relaxed against Sovran. There were quiet sniffles and gasps, but he seemed okay now. "N-No, don't.. don't take it, Mr. Sovran," Kian weakly said. “I wouldn’t mind takin’ it, if it’ll keep you from havin’ to experience this again, I’m willin’ to.” Sovran gave Kian a little reassuring squeeze. “‘Cause I’m thinkin’ ‘bout the future of if this could happen again, or if my lock ain’t permanent. He sniffled, thinking on Sovran's words for a couple of seconds. "T-Thank you, Mr. Sovran.. I-I.." Kian finally moved his hand, rubbing his eyes to try and dry his tears. "B-But I don't know.. If you take it, i-it will hurt you somehow.. T-That's just how it works. I don't.. I don't know what locking it will do, b-but perhaps it would be the easiest way to stop it from happening a-again.." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“I’m used to a little bit of pain, Kian, it’s no problem for me.” Sovran offered the boy a small smile. “Lemme tell you somethin’ ‘bout myself, bud. Back where I come from, I’m- I had been what they’d call a ‘caretaker.’ Another individual and I would take care of children with elemental powers. He was the user with Nullify, meanwhile I Replicated the abilities of the children to practice and teach them how to properly handle them.” With how close Kian was, he’d be able to make out just how many scars Sovran had along his torso, thanks to the mesh shirt and what remained of it. He had plenty of scars and different types of scarred tissue along his skin. A type of burn scar traveled along his shoulder up to his jawline. Pretty much, the man looked like his body had been dragged to Hell and back, and back to Hell once more. “Point I’m tryin’ to make is- I ain’t tryin’ to pressure you or make you feel bad or anythin’, but- I told Jymaiyri this before, but once you make that vow to children, to protect ‘em and help nurture ‘em in any way you can, it doesn’t ever go away. The vow still stands.” His hand gently reached up to ruffle Kian’s hair in a loving manner. “Lemme take care of you, alright, Kian? Lemme do this for you. Being held and spoken to, Kian really felt like the child that he was. All of a sudden, he was ten years old again, back to when his mother would coax him after he had accidentally hurt himself. Whether it be a small bruise or a cut, his mother would always reassure him things would be okay. She would brush her hand through his hair and kiss his temple, hugging him in a warm and protective hold, just like Sovran was now. Beads of tears fell from Kian's eyes as he listened to Sovran and he peered upwards. The various scars on Sovran's skin reminded him of his uncle. Years of hard work often wounded an individual, leaving behind permanent reminders. Yet, just like his uncle, Sovran seemed to be proud of what he had done to earn those scars. Kian admired that ambition. He knew Sovran was right. Kian had seen it for himself how much his parents and other older family members would do for their children, and others alike. They'd lose an arm and leg for them without hesitation. Kian couldn't believe Sovran would do something like that for him. He felt so guilty, yet so relieved--Someone who cared about him so deeply was still out there. When Sovran had finished speaking, the boy gave him another small hug. It was weaker than the last one, but Kian wanted to express his gratitude. "O-Okay... I-I'm sorry, Mr. Sovran," Kian replied softly, giving Sovran permission to do what he wanted. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Shhh, shh, don’t be sorry for a thing,” With a gentle hand, Sovran reached out and brushed Kian’s tears away with his thumb. He smiled at the boy. “Whatever happens, I’m ready for it. I’ll take it. Don’t be sorry for what happens, I’m fully aware of any consequences.” Sovran shut his eyes and gave Kian a gentle squeeze. He pulled away slightly and bowed his head. A hand reached up to brush his messy curls away from his forehead. “Just- Don’t freak out, alright? I need you to look me in the Eye for this to work. It tends to open up when I use my powers.” Upon Sovran’s forehead was an additional eye. It was the same brilliant gold as Sovran’s other two, but it also had gold symbols surrounding it. Sovran gave another laugh. His hand ruffled Kian’s hair once more. He knew the kid was lying, but he appreciated how hard he was trying to reassure Sovran that the elemental Eyewasn’t weird. “I think I can just- Pull it and guide it my way,” Sovran spoke. He could see Poison clearly in his mind; All he needed to do was bring it further toward himself and pull it out. “I haven’t attempted this in- Quite some time, so it’s gonna be a learnin’ experience for us both. Kian closed his eyes as Sovran' ruffled his hair, appreciating the motion. Though, as Sov began explaining the Eye, he made to pay attention closely. His eyes and cheeks were still a bit puffy from his earlier sobs, but Kian made sure to listen. "O-Okay.. Whatever you need to do, Mr. Sovran. (Tw for gore and blood) Sovran nodded. He shut both eyes once more as the other Eye remained open. It focused on Kian and began to glow a brighter gold. In his mind, Sovran could see the cage that Poison was trapped within. Golden chains began to wrap around it and tugged it away from Kian. Kian would feel a light sense of nausea wash over him as this process continued. Further and further away from him, Poison was pulled from the inside of the boy’s body. Through his forehead, the cage appeared with a purple substance contained within it. The cage was pulled through the Eye and entirely disappeared into Sovran. At that moment, there was the sickening snap of bone that could be heard. Sovran grunted as he dropped down to one knee. Both of his golden eyes opened as the Elemental Eye became violet in color: It seemed that Poison was now active. The man gritted his teeth in pain and grasped the sand as he looked down to his right leg. Already, it was beginning to eat away at his leg. His foot was detached and rotting away as the purple substance slowly, painfully, made its way up his right leg. Chunks of flesh would fall in a heap in the sand. “I-it’s- I’m alright-” Sovran gasped out before he rammed his knuckle into his mouth to bite on. Blood could be seen running down his hand. He was doing everything in his power not to scream in pain. He couldn’t frighten the kid, he couldn’t- This was already going to be traumatizing enough for Kian to have to witness. Typically, it was Kian doing the taking, so as he sat, waiting for Sovran to take poison, a wave of anxiety washed over him. The longer he stared at the Eye, the more his stomach started to churn. With that anxiety, soon came that feeling of nausea. The boy squinted his eyes a bit, holding back any shifting due to the uncomfortable feeling. Watching as the Eye took poison out of him, Kian's own eyes widened and he held his breath. He knew what was going to happen next, but even then, Kian's heart sank into his stomach. "M-Mr. Sovran!" He panicked as he watched the poison grow on Sovran's leg, unable to do anything as it happened. Kian never gained any healing powers, nor nullifying powers, so he was quite literally helpless to stop the poison from increasing. Tears welled up in Kian's eyes again and unsure what to do, tied his cape around Sovran's leg to stop the poison from crawling up any further. "I-I'm sorry! Sovran pull his fist from his mouth to take in several agonized breaths. His entire body was shaking as the pain came in waves over him. “B-back off,” Sovran managed out through gritted teeth. “Th-the poison’ll g-get on ya- Be careful-” His concern for Kian’s well-being pushed him to quiet about the pain as possible. However, it was clear through his pained gasps and forceful exhales that he was on the brink of losing it. The intense heat didn’t help, and the stinging of sand against his wounds made everything worse. This was the worst beach ever. Of all time. The flesh and muscle of his leg continued to slip right off the bone. It was nauseating as the scent of rotten flesh filled the air. The Poison continued to eat up his leg, and it was already at his mid-thigh. The Elemental Eye illuminated violet for several long moments before a royal blue flickered into view. Nullify. It acted entirely on its own as it and Poison struggled for control. The Eye continued to flicker colors before it ultimately settled on the dark blue hue. The poison stopped spreading. A distance away stood a violet Remnant that watched the scene. Young with ruffled messy hair and a cape that blew in the light breeze. Kian. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

When it was Kian losing his arm, the boy had used his cape to tie and sever it. He thought he'd have to do the same for Sovran, but thankfully, oh so thankfully, nullify had kicked in. Tears streamed down Kian's face as he looked at the grizzly scene. There was so much rotten flesh and acid, it made him want to hurl. The smells were overwhelming his senses, but Kian suddenly focused his hand over Sovran's thigh. The blood dripping out would slowly stop, circulating only in his body. As Kian focused, he suddenly coughed up some blood, but he ignored it, continuing to keep Sovran from bleeding out. "T-This is all I can do, M-Mr. Sovran. I-I'm sorry. I-I.. I'm sorry.." Darkness flashed in his vision the moment Sovran felt any kind of pressure on his leg. He rested on his back and fought back a groan of pain. For several long moments, all he did was breathe. That's all that he felt like he had the strength for. When he finally found enough energy to speak, his voice was hoarse and rough. "S'all'right, kid," Sovran cleared his throat and licked his cracked lips. The sun was devastatingly hot. Maybe he was actually in a desert rather than a beach. "T-take care of- Yourself, bud, I'll be- I'll be fine.. I can h-heal.." Maybe in a few minutes when he had enough strength, but Kian coughing up blood was a big concern. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"I-I'm fine! Just be quiet and r-regain yourself, Mr. Sovran." For once, Kian was being more stern. Sovran should be more worried about himself, yet here he was, still concerned about him. The prince continued to stop the bleeding, moving just slightly to look over the older man, before noticing the purple figure in the distance. The form surprised Kian and he sat there, baffled for a few moments. It was strange seeing a form of remnant as himself, and it made Kian frown as he realized how it even came to be. Forever, Sovran's remnant of Kian would be of poison. A poison that has hurt and drawn Sovran of mobility. The prince closed his eyes, his brows furrowing as frustrated tears fell onto his cheeks. "W-We need to move you inside somewhere, Mr. Sovran. I'm g-going to bring you back to the log shelter, o-okay?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran decided to shut his mouth and just focus on his breathing. He gave Kian a two-finger salute. Aye-aye, Captain. He could be quiet for a few. A light ringing sound filled his ears, and he quickly shook his head to center himself. Now wasn’t the time to pass out. Dear god, he couldn’t do that to the kid. For several long moments, all he did was breathe until the ringing went away, until he felt more in control of his body. The pain in his thigh was overwhelming. God, he felt nauseous. “I-I got a belt-” His hands fumbled for the buckle. “W-we can- Use my coat a-and the belt to stop the bleedin’, then you can- Stop w-whatever it is you’re doin’.. Th-then we’ll m-move, alright?” In the distance, the Remnant stood still. Tears of its own slipped down its cheeks as it made eye contact with Kian. He knew how much pain Sovran was going through. Kian felt it himself when he has first lost his arm. It's an unbearable pain that would drive anyone insane. He didn't know how Sovran hadn't passed out yet. "O-Okay, okay. I can keep the blood in your thigh a-as we move. P-Promise. I can do it," Kian reassured, but took Sovran's belt and jacket, wrapping it around his thigh anyways. Kian wiped the blood off his chin with the back of his hand and shakily took one of Sovran's arms. "I-I'm going to help you up now, Mr. Sovran. O-Okay? D-Don't worry.." Sovran's vision blurred with darkness for a long moment when he felt the pressure of the belt wrap around his thigh. He almost wanted to curse out loud, but alas, a child was nearby. Can't curse in front of the children. Instead, he sucked in rattling breaths of agony as pain continued to radiate throughout his body. Maybe once they were somewhere safer, he'd be able to heal himself. Even a little bit would be nice. "I ain't w-worried, it's go-gonna be just fine.." Sovran spoke in an attempt to soothe Kian's nerves. "Al-always ends up fine.." As he was heaved up to his feet, Sovran kept surprisingly good balance on one leg. He tried not to lean on Kian too much, but had to with every step he would've made with his right leg. Not a sound escaped Sovran aside from sharp inhales and exhales as he breathed through the pain.
