The bridge connected both sides of the #beach, and crossed over the #stream. It wasn't anything too fancy, just strong vines and mud. A lot of crustaceans liked to hang out beneath it in the slightly cooler water though.

With a ZAP of lightning, Yeonaixho appeared in the area... Prevariously on the bridge... No one was here. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Seconds after he'd first appeared, Yeonaixho stumbled from his feet onto his hands and knees. He clung to the the bridge, unsure of how high up he was. He could hear the water, though, so he couldn't be too high up? @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

A crab tried to go up and pinch him, but it only slightly crawled up on the bridge before falling off and getting promptly crushed by an even bigger crab. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Yeonaixho yelped as the crab tried to pinch him, and sat up in the center of the bridge. He ran his hands over his body, checking that everything was still there. Thank god, he still had his cane. "Hello?" He said to no one in particular. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

With a ZAP of lightning, Cane appeared in the area... Precariously on the bridge... No one was here, beside Yeonaixho (unless he had moved). @Scream | Cane + Uly

Finally, Yeonaixho tentatively pulled himself up from the ground, using his now-unfolded cane to make his way off the bridge. From there... he'd find his way around, eventually.

To say that was jarring would be an understatement. One moment, he is in the kitchen, the next minute--almost like a blur--he is being interrogated. Now Cane was standing on a bridge? Somehow, the bridge was the only semblance of familiarity; they had those back on his planet. The only question was where and when was he currently. On wobbly legs, Cane shook his head in an attempt to find some clarity after a hectic couple of hours.

Once she was out of the stream and still soaking. Isabelle walked over to where she thought the bridge was to check on the allegedly flailing person. But it seems they were already gone. And it appears Tai'Tana was also nowhere to be seen. "Hello?" She asked, unsure if they would even understand her. "Anyone there?" Hopefully they weren't gone as well. @Scream | Cane + Uly

Noises, sounds, words. Cane rubbed the side of his head, ruffling some of the strands of fabric as he did so. Slowly, almost robotically, he turned his attention to the words being spoken in his direction. Yellow eyes focused on the person. Upon first glance, they did not seem to be the interrogator from before, nor did they seem to be hostile; a good start. Taking two fingers, with his left hand, he tapped the forehead of his mask before waving the hand through the air. "Mali king amin." @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

"Well fuck." She whispered under her breath. She knew quite a few languages and that was NOT one of them. She was still holding the crab, so she moved to use the crab's claw to reciprocate the wave. Surely there was some way they could communicate, but Isabelle appeared to have a cautious but hopeful expression. @Scream | Cane + Uly

After greeting the stranger, there was a noticeable awkwardness that existed between the two of them. Despite no words being exchanged, so much information was conveyed simply because they both looked just as lost as the other. No doubt they were both in the same boat, or in this case the same entrapment. Cane's eyes drifted to the crustacean briefly before they spoke once more. "Terran?" @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

Isabelle's eyes lit up with recognition. "Oh I know that one!!!" She enthusiastically nodded her head. She was indeed a filthy earth creatura. "Terran!" @Scream | Cane + Uly

Now they were getting somewhere. Cane's mask tilted ever-so-slightly. Not quite the illumination that the other showed, but it was his own way of showing acknowledgement. "...Greetings." @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

She wasn't sure why she was so excited by that, still holding the crab. "Oh... I see you know the language after all. I apologize for not knowing yours." She chuckled nervously, approaching the bridge but not stepping onto it. @Scream | Cane + Uly

Cane did not seem to be too offended, not that it was easy to tell. "Mali king amin is..." His body shifted like he wanted to do the gesture from before, but gave up halfway. "...How you say, I hope you are safe--hm--safety be upon you. It is my greeting." @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

"Ah, I see. I am familiar with a similar style of greeting. Were you also... taken?" She asked cautiously. @Scream | Cane + Uly

"Taken." For the first time since he had landed on the bridge, Cane paused to take in his surroundings, almost as if to confirm that was he still away from home. "Yes, very much taken." @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

"Were you also threatened with an inevitable death at the hands of our host?" @Scream | Cane + Uly

"Huh... it seems I ran into a local earlier. They didn't seem familiar with that threat. Just told me to hunt for crabs." She held it up, although she knew he had seen it. @Scream | Cane + Uly

Cane did not appear to show interest in the crab. His eyes remained fixated on the person in front of him, especially now that he knew they were both hand selected. "I am not quite sure why I am here, or why I am wanted dead. Perhaps you can enlighten me." @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

"They didn't tell me much else, but I know my friends are here. My friends..." Isabelle seemed to trail off in thought, the panic slowly rising as she realized Errol and Madison were also here. And Ulysses... @Scream | Cane + Uly

While the stranger was busy gathering their own thoughts, Cane had no more of his own to give, at least not in the moment. "I feel as though we will be stuck here for some time, so we might as well get to know one another. I am Ser Cane." @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

Straight to the point. Cane could not really blame them when he himself was stuck chasing answers. "The mask? It is a culture thing." A vague answer, but a simple one. @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

"Fair enough. I won't ask further questions." Ip isn't one to question it. "Are you going to stay on that bridge or are we going to survey our surroundings? I'll share the crab with you if you're hungry as well." @Scream | Cane + Uly

At the suggestion that he was somehow craving the crab, Cane gave Isabelle a slow blink. "I suppose we can move. It is safe to assume there will be others." @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

"There was one on this bridge before you. It seems they're already gone." In all honesty she just doesn't like the main crab body. Better to not waste food if Tai'Tana's words were any indication. @Scream | Cane + Uly

"Then we should find your allies." Cane suggested. Who knew what else was out there. Despite the rather pleasant and serene surroundings, his welcoming party did not lead him to believe this was anyone's paradise. @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

"Right. Hopefully they're around here..." She motioned for Ser Cane to step off of the bridge so they could continue to look around. "At the very least this environment is one I am used to. "I will be fine." For now. Stepping off the bridge, Cane followed Isabelle, making a habit to look wherever she was not, just in case someone, or something, tried to catch the new duo by surprise. "You will find that my people are quite adaptable." @Gab | Ip🪩 + Subaru

"That's what I like to hear." Isabelle smiled before turning to walk around. So... where to- @Scream | Cane + Uly

Aileen flew above, until she found someone that seemed interesting and to the best of the description offered to get she could judge that it might be Llinos. She flew down and perched on a vine looking closely at the figure. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Llinos had been glancing down at the dark water below the bridge, but as soon as she saw the bird in the reflection of the water, her whole body tensed. She didn't move from her position until Aileen had landed, and then she struck. She grasped the owl in her hands and held it in front of her, looking down at its little legs peeking out from the feathers. Yep, a silver band around its right leg with the Avian insignia on it. A trademark for those damn bird people. "What do you want." Llinos growled, baring her fangs at the owl. She didn't really care that it couldn't speak back at this time. @Mister Jokestar

Aileen was surprised, but if Llinos wanted answers, she needed to back up, and so Aileen transformed back into her human form and gave a shove. It wasn't a great shove, her form was off, but the fact that she just transformed from an owl must have worked in her favor as Llinos was knocked back. "Chill out there! I'm just one of the contestants on this side! I'm gathering information, like what's your name? Are you alien adjacent? Did you realize I was an Avian?" Llinos grunted loudly as she hit the vine bridge, nearly falling over to the water below. "Llinos does not owe you any information!" She yelled back. Well, that was the answer to her first question. @Mister Jokestar

"Well of course you don't OWE me, no one owes anyone conversation, and yet it still comes about because most creatures enjoy socialization. Or perhaps, like myself, are in the pursuit of knowledge. You seemed like you might have some. We'll start simple, are you a contestant?" Aileen took a defensive stance, she went sure if the conversation would start civil. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

All Llinos did in response to that was stand up, brush herself off, and begin to stomp away. @Mister Jokestar

"I KNEW IT! Man that is good to hear, sometimes I wonder if it ever got better and think about going back but I knew that was a fantasy! It wouldn't improve. You should know though, there is another avian here... I heard from Rakin, the witch is also competing." ".. The witch? Aldreda?" Llinos asked, eyes widening ever so slightly. "Have you seen her?" @Mister Jokestar

"No thank all that is good I haven't. I will attempt to do my best to keep it that way. She was nuts you know. Her brother too, but he's not here... I hope." Aileen stepped in a liitle closer, happy she was finally getting some form of communication. "Are you competing as well? Or are you here to keep the peace so to speak." I guess I did a little, but if you are right in that she is good its just hard for me to imagine cause when I left it was... a different story is all I guess. Who are Tai'Tana and Itsuki? I'm not entirely sure what alien adjacent means at the moment but I aim to figure it out. How did you get here? "That might have been Rakin then. I heard voices and one that stood out also happened to be him. Strange he didn't talk to you like he did with myself and a few other contestants. I wonder how many he didn't actually talk to, and just plopped in here..." Aileen logged the potential question as something to ask others. "Russia, that's earth at least, so it seems I am not the only one taken from earth. I was in a hotel room in the states. Chicago. Felt all tingly, and numb, then the voices started coming, a bright flash and then... I was in a cell of some sort. There was blood and such and well it looked very intimidating, and there stood Rakin. This woman talked a lot. "Llinos didn't see any cells. Or blood. Llinos is speaking English, but Llinos also knows Russian. No one else here does. So she just speaks Avian English." @Mister Jokestar

"It means toad warrior. Llinos did hand to hand combat in underground fight rings." She grinned and flexed her fingers. Oh, she was excited for the chance to do it again. "And Llinos flew and walked to get away from Avis. Tula geese are from Russia, so it wasn't hard to blend in." @Mister Jokestar

"Tula geese... You went through the ritual as well? Your avian?" Aileen had noticed the tattoo, but she hasn't as quickly realized it's implications. She probably should've been not attentive. "So amphibian and avian... You seem to be quite the diverse mix." It didn't seem... She wondered which came first, the goose or the toad. From what she could gather the toad was a thing determined by genetics, and what determined the alien adjacentcy. Avian though was rewarded through a ritual... But not one for outsiders usually, so was she born in Avis? She was a prisoner for a while so maybe she found some way to steal the ritual ways? Was that possible? @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

".. Yes.. Llinos is an Avian too. Llinos grew up there. Llinos was never even in the toadlin desert." She huffed. "Llinos lost her feathers when she got here. They're on the hood of a coat. Let me know if you find it." @Mister Jokestar

"I'll keep my eyes out for them." It was intriguing to say the least, Aileen couldn't remember any mention of some sort of toadlin, and Aileen never forgot. "Was your toad heritage hidden from the rest of Avis? I don't recall any mention of you and I feel as though you would be quite the popular topic." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Yes. Only family knew that we were all toads. Hid it from immigration people to avoid drama." Llinos said. "We kept to ourselves." @Mister Jokestar

Well. Miles had never been here before. The other side. Less snow though! No need for a bonfire here, so where else was he supposed to hang out? Miles wandered around, looking for a place where he could stick around and probably have people show up and talk to him and ask questions about his blurriness, because people here seemed to do that. The bridge itself appears to be empty save for Miles, but there’s an odd flickering of light against the water running beneath it that doesn’t quite seem natural as it flashes at random intervals. Accompanying it is a dull muttering that…almost sounds like a voice? Enough to be heard at the very least, with a faint splashing every now and then. Might be worth checking out :3. @soul | 🎻

Miles perks up as he hears the quiet noise, so he draws closer to the bridge, calling out, "Hello???" No survival instinct whatsoever. "Are you a normal thing or are you something to do with space?" He looked at the bridge again, trying to work out what it was. He'd heard running water before, when he was and wasn't blurry, but... this thing? Nah. He'd seen them, distantly, but he didn't actually know the name... @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

As soon as Miles calls out, the light stops flickering. After a few moments of silence Mallon pokes their head out and squints towards him—lure dangling listlessly in front of their face but significantly less bloodied by now. They click something at him first, then blink and growl under their breath, then finally manage to twist their voice into words again. “Not space,” they grumble, watching as Miles’s interest shifts to the bridge itself. “Who are you.” @soul | 🎻

Miles stares at them, blinking. Uncomprehending. Then he sits down where he can without getting wet. "I'm Miles! I was on the other side and then I got sent here instead?" @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

“Oh.” Mallon tilts their head slightly, studying Miles now with a little bit more interest. Maybe they can learn a little more. “I am Mallon. What is the other side like?” @soul | 🎻

"Mallon! That's kinda like Miles!" He scoots closer. "Oh it's really snowy, but I was next to a bonfire. And there's a guy who has fire powers, so he's super warm too. Buncha people there. There's a wolf-" Boy the wolf is here too. "-who's also a doctor and there's a woman with a baby, it's pretty cool! Well, it's actually pretty cold. Cause it's snowy." @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

“…I guess so.” Mallon does not scoot closer. But they don’t scoot away! Their eye lights up (though not literally) at Miles’ mention of the snowy weather. “I would much rather have that over this heat,” they grumble. “I am not built for this.” @soul | 🎻

Miles lays down. "Yeaaah it's hot here, no bonfire needed. And my legs aren't gonna get cold!" He. Slaps his legs. He's wearing shorts. He's been wearing shorts this whole time. I forgot. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

One of Mallon’s earfins flicks absentmindedly. “I thought sticking to the water would help me. But it has not done much.” And also they got their shit kicked by a crab, but they’re not going to bring that up. “The storm that passed was nice. Cooler.” @soul | 🎻

Miles looks down at the water and stretches his arm out to touch it. "Oh man I missed a storm? Probably good, don't think there's a motel to hide in here. Or dumpsters." Man has not seen the barracks I guess. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

“It was loud. Dangerous I suppose.” Mallon blinks at him once. They at least vaguely recognize the words. “There were places to shelter, luckily. Though I am not sure if they remain.” They glance up at the full moon now hanging in the sky above them. “In any case, perhaps I can hope to switch sides eventually.” @soul | 🎻

Miles feels them blink at him and just. Kinda waves at them. "The other side's nice and cold. And there's some cool people! The wolf's actually a doctor!" Miles doesn't seem to realise he already said that. "Maybe if you ask? The guy who brought us here gave me a burger so I think he's nice." @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

“The person who brought us to space. To fight to our deaths. Not to mention, brought something important to me only to take it away, chained me to a wall, and trapped me in the heat with—“ Mallon cuts themself off, then shakes their head with a derisive snort. “No. If I see him again I will kill him.” @soul | 🎻

"Space is pretty cool." However, he does go quiet and consider 'fight to our deaths'. He hasn't really comprehended death. Hm. He'll do that later. "Took something from you?" Miles turns over to lay on his stomach like a preteen gossiping at a sleepover. "What'd he take?" @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

“It would be cool-er if I was still seeing it from home,” Mallon mutters, glaring down at the ground. Their eye twitches, slightly, at Miles’s question. “He..” They sigh, then continue, “He took the viol I retrieved that..belonged to someone I knew. I thought I had left it behind. If you must know.” @soul | 🎻

"I think stars are cool no matter where you are. These ones are totally different." Miles did not catch the glare or the eye twitch and thus he sees no issue in pressing further, leaning closer with intrigue. "What's a viol? Why'd you leave it behind? Oh, who'd it belong to??" “…I do not know enough about the stars to tell,” Mallon admits. They nearly bite their tongue at his once again followup questions, turning their head away from Miles to try and hide the mix of expressions that cross their face. It’s a moment before they reply. “A viol, it is.. an instrument. Strings. I dropped it when I was taken.” The last question goes unanswered. @soul | 🎻

"I just know they're pretty and twinkling and sometimes they glow green on ceilings." Miles leans slightly to try see Mallon's face, not realising that they'd turned it on purpose. After the fight had dumped Kenji unceremoniously back into the sand, he..didn’t exactly have any plan on where to go. No one seemed to be around again, and he probably shouldn’t have been outside much longer either, but it’s slightly cooler by the water at least. Sitting atop the bridge, leaning against the side wall is….not nice, but not unwelcome with the little bit of shade it provides. Gods, he’s going to be so insanely tan if he makes it home. If. Fun thought. It’s a less than fun distraction from the heat. A hurried glance around, and Kenji slowly pulls the scarf down from his face with a sigh as some strange light flickers above. He really should get a move on with telling people about the tv room. But it’s..nice to get a moment without the mask, if only for a little. Perhaps it was the slight static from the light above, or maybe it was just the sound of the crashing waves from below, but there was nothing that seemed to be out of place approaching Kenji. Everything was nice and calm. Nothing that sounded overly alarming. "Woahhhh... You got some sick scars, dude," ...until an agitating, grating, voice suddenly appeared beside Kenji. Bridge faded into existence like the light above them, grinning from ear to ear as he looked over the scarred stranger. "Where'd you get them? Did you get into a fight here already?" Holy fucking shit. Something lodged somewhere between a yelp and a choking sound escapes him, body on autopilot as he tries to scramble backwards. Unfortunately, there’s a wall behind him, and he kind of just ends up tangled in his own limbs. The sudden intrusion is jarring enough that it takes a good few seconds to actually process—and then Kenji yanks up the scarf as fast as he can with his heart thudding in his chest. Spooked is an understatement. It’s just disorienting enough, though, that the first thing that slips out without thinking is just straight up, “I died.” Totally non-concerning thing to say. Kenji pales as soon as he realizes. Kenji twitches as Bridge blanks and reappears, though luckily being entirely on edge now helps him not to react too over the top again. “N-Not exactly,” he mumbles, glad to move on.
