(Moving this into a thread lol) To say Moses was angry was an understatement. Being kept in a glass like animals watching two friends fight for their lives made every cell of blood in his body hot. He was already worried about the storm hurting someone, but being taken immediately afterwards to watch a deathmatch didn't help either. Channeling his anger to energy that focused on making sure people were okay, Moses headed back out to the shelter he had made earlier. He figured people would of flocked here or to the mud hut. He passed Isabelle that was in the fight just now, as well as a strange person he hadn't talked to yet. Though, he noted the person looked similar to the descriptor Nora had given him before. He figured it wasn't his place to exactly interrupt, so he went inside the shelter to look for others. What he first noticed was the random pile of blankets. Perhaps Nora had made them? Moses wasn't sure. He bent down and started to pull at the blanket at the top, thinking about folding them into a neater pile somewhere. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾 (edited)

As Moses was grabbing the blanket, Maki's hand shot out of the pile and grabbed his wrist before they popped their head out with an annoyed expression. They narrowed their eyes at him before huffing. At least it was just Moses....they still didn't let go of his wrist though. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"Wh—" Moses was quite startled when Maki suddenly grabbed him, but thankfully, he realized it was the kid before instinctively tossing them. "Geez, kiddo. You gave me a heart attack there. Are you alright? Hurt anywhere?" He asked and relaxed, even though Maki was still holding his arm. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

"......" Maki slowly let go out Moses' wrist and sat up, wrapping the blankets around them now. At the question, they simply shrugged their shoulders, then shook their head. Alright? Not particularly. Hurt? No. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Moses understood mostly what Maki was trying to get across, and he gave them a small sympathetic look. "It's going to be alright, kiddo. That fight shook most of us," Moses nodded. "Do you want something to eat? There's some soup and fruit you can snack back at the other mud hut I can grab ya. It's not much.. but at least you won't be hungry." @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Maki let out a small huff and summoned a small notebook and began to write. Ok. They wrote. Some food works. They looked down at the notebook, staring at to before they handed it off to Moses. Their gaze softened slightly as they pulled their knees close to their chest, huffing. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Moses read the notebook and nodded. "Alright. I'll be right back then. You're not allergic to seafood or corn, are ya? Or.. just any allergy in general?" He asked before completely stepping out. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Maki simply shook their head. Nope. They weren't allergic to anything. Nothing that they knew off, in all honesty. They sat their for a second before lightly drumming their fingers on their mask....they'd make an illusion. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"Alright then. I'll be right back," Moses nodded and stepped out. . . . And in a few minutes, Moses was right back. He carried one of the crystal bowls he made, lukewarm soup in it, along with a couple of mangos. He sat down next to Maki and offered the items to them. "Here you are. Eat up. The soup isn't as fresh as it was earlier, but it's still good, promise," Moses faintly chuckled. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Maki took one of the mango's and looked at it before they sniffed it. Then they looked at the soup before back up at Moses. Thank you. They signed before they paused. They grabbed their book before they scribbled it down instead. ...Mango...haven't eaten it in awhile. I forget...are they sweet? @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Moses knew enough basic ASL to know Maki thanked him, and he smiled in return. "No problem. And yeah, they're good when they're sweet. Do you need me to peel it for you?" Moses asked as he showed a small knife made out of crystals. "I made sure to grab this just in case." @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

....Maybe. Maki handed the mango back to Moses as they sat on the floor. They looked at the soup before they picked it up and sniffed it. A small curtain appeared around Maki and they placed their mask on the floor, not saying anything. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Moses smiled a bit and took the mango back, starting to peel it and putting the scraps of skin outside the shelter. He let Maki eat in privacy, before walking back and handing the now freshly peeled mango to them. "Here you are, kiddo. Eating it off the seed is honestly my favorite way to eat it, but if you want it in slices, let me know. How do you like the soup?" @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Maki reached out and took the mango back before they were silent for a minutes. After that, they curtain fadded away and only the bowl remained. At the question, they pondered briefly for they smiled a bit- or well, the mask did. Good. They wrote down. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"Great. I was limited with the spices, so it doesn't have the usual kick, but I'm glad you enjoyed it at least," Moses chuckled softly. He waited for a moment for Maki to try the mango, hoping they weren't allergic to that too. Fruit was always the tricky thing. @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Mango is sweet. Maki wrote down.

Chewy too...? Its yummy. Its been a very long time since I had a mango. I forgot what they tasted like. I didn't know you can spice up a mango.

Moses chuckled again and nodded. "Oh, yeah. There's plenty of ways to spice up fruit. Especially mangos. Throw on some chamoy, tajin, and lime juice, and it's perfectly sweet and tangy," he replied. "If I ever get my hands on any of those, I'll make sure to let you have some." @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

I like lime. Maki wrote down. Sometimes I would squeeze them into my mouth for fun. Then they laughed softly, thinking back at the memory. They looked over at Moses for a few seconds, studying him before he turned away and laid their head on their knees. ...I want to try some more fruit...I wonder if they have more fruit here. The pondered. Like papaya or coconuts? @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"Oh? You like sour stuff, kid?" Moses asked with an intrigued smile. "I'm sure there's a lot of lime and other fruits in the farm, yeah. I only grabbed some stuff for the soup, but we can go look at the farm together if you want to pick some other things," he offered. "And I saw coconuts on the beach side. Maki nodded. That sounds nice. The farm. I can use some food there and cook for us if needed too... Maki hesitated for a second before they eyed their notebook. ....What do you think happened to that girl...I've been thinking about it. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Moses nodded. "Why don't we go over there and pick some then? Hopefully that hurricane earlier didn't knock too many of the fruit down," he suggested with a faint smile. Though, that smile quickly faded as he saw the question Maki asked. "..What happened was wrong. Putting those two together... Rakin was pretty clear what his and his master's goal was—to make chaos from making us fight. If he's true to his word.. that woman died," Moses didn't bother to sugarcoat things with Maki. He figured it'd be better to be straightforward. "..I'm sorry you had to see it first hand, kid. I don't want it happening to you, or anyone else.." @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾

Maki stared ahead before they sighed and dropped their shoulders. They couldn't stop thinking about it in all honesty to just...fall into the void? For a second, their eyes flashed with interest before it faded. I hope it was peaceful. They wrote.

To fall into the void. Rakin would say it was her "fate" but...I think its an illusion. Fate. We just do things and things happen. Chain reactions.

Maki's pen drummed against the book for a few seconds. But some fruit sounds nice.

He looked over Maki with a somber expression. "I do too. Death comes for everyone.. All I can hope is that it is not painful," Moses agreed and stepped over to Maki. "Let's focus on happier, smaller things. Like the fruit. I can lead the way to where the farm is, kid," he told them with a faint smile and gestured for Maki to follow him to the #farmland @Cap! | Maki🧿 + Andre🌾
