Stepping away from Madison and hearing her oddly specific advice to stay away from redheaded people, Kian walked towards the exit once more. He wanted to go see if there was anyone stuck outside still since he'd already ran into two women and a baby. The thought of getting another prosthetic was a little unnerving to him, now that he had some time alone to think about it. Kian had tried twice before, but each had been destroyed in one way or another, and after the second one, he just gave up trying. Lost in his thoughts, Kian wasn't paying attention when he suddenly bumped into someone. Someone much larger and burly than himself, that it caused Kian to stagger back a bit. "A-Ah—I am so, so sorry-! I was not paying attention–are you okay?" Kian asked in a panic. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran had been far too distracted with Connie that as he stepped away, he didn’t really notice anyone else around him. So, when Kian bumped into him from behind, he was a little surprised that he had let his guard down that much to let that happen. The man raised an eyebrow as he turned around completely- Holy shit, another kid? Rakin wasn’t playing around when he said that he’d place him on the side with the most children on it. God, another child. “Easy kid, take it easy,” Sovran lowered his hand in a ‘calm down’ type of motion. “I’m all good. How ‘bout yourself? Feelin’ alright?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian blinked as he looked up to the stranger, his panic easing a bit as he was told to calm down. "S-Sorry.. Uh..I-I'm glad you're okay, mister. I'm fine. I was not paying attention to where I was going, I apologize," Kian said once again and slightly bowed his head. "I, uhm.. I-I'm Kian. What's your name, mister?" “Don’t worry ‘bout it, I was hardly paying attention either,” Sovran gave an easy-going laugh. “And there’s no need to call me ‘mister,’ kid. It’s all good.” “The name’s Sovran, good to meet you, Kian.” Sovran grinned. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian let out a small chuckle. "M-My mother would be quite stern with me if I didn't regard my elders with a proper title, Mr. Sovran, but i-it is nice to meet you too," he smiled. "Are you holding up okay? I think I saw you in passing earlier with Miss Jymaiyri. S-She's doing well, as is little Minerva. I helped them to the back building where there are more beds earlier." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran hummed. Looks like the kid was raised with good morals. Very nice. “Alright, if it’ll make you feel better, you can use ‘mister,’” Sovran smiled. “I’m holdin’ up good, don’t worry about ol’ me. The cold doesn’t bother me one bit.” His smile became one of slight pride. “That so, kid? Good on you for helpin’ them out. Proud of you for that. Now, how’re you doin’?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian's smile widened a bit as he looked up at Sovran. This man had a very calming aura. It sorta reminded Kian of Uncle Agustin and Uncle Persis' presences. "The cold doesn't bother you, Mr. Sovran? Are you from somewhere that gets this cold often?" He curiously asked. "A-And I'm good! Uhm.. A bit anxious about everything, but good. I've met a lot of people w-who've been nice. Even a couple familiar faces," Kian replied. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Yeah, where I come from, it’s much colder than this,” Sovran chuckled. “Imagine a whole city made of ice. That’s how cold it is.” “Yeah, I can understand that, kid. This whole situation’s gotta be spooky for you, but you’re doin’ one hell of a job bein’ brave. It’s alright to be scared, though,” Sovran hummed. “But that’s good, I’m glad you’ve been meetin’ kind folk here. Who’ve been familiar to you?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian's eyes widened a bit in wonder. "W-Wow! A city of ice? I've o-only really known of two places like that. What's your hometown called, Mr. Sovran?" The boy's smile widened a bit more and he seemed to even stand straighter. "Spooky isn't the right word.. b-but thank you. Are you not afraid, Mr. Sovran?" Kian curiously asked. "And uh.. This may sound like a really weird coincidence, but one of my uncles is a-actually here. His name is Agustin. Uncle Agustin." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

"It's a place called Roston. It ain't really- Much of what it used to be anymore, but they're rebuildin'. You've been there or heard of it?" Sovran asked with a curious look. "Afraid? Nah, not really- More so annoyed by our hosts." Sovran admitted. God, all he wanted was a moment alone with either of them to teach them both a lesson. sTRANGLE

"That so? An uncle? A horrible place to make a reunion, but I'm glad you got someone here who's familiar with ya and who you can take some comfort from." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

The moment Sovran mentioned Roston, Kian's posture seemed to stiffen. The boy looked over Sovran and his brows subtly tightened. "R-Roston..? As in, Kirsi?" Kian asked, almost like he was unsure of himself. The rest of the conversation about his uncle lost his interest. Kian was keenly curious about who this man was now.

Sovran raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, Roston in Kirsi. You've heard of it, huh?" @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"M-More than heard," Kian commented. "Roston.. What's your home like, Mr. Sovran? It's cold a-and snowy, right? How else is it?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Been there, huh? Or to one of the surrounding ice cities? There’s a good amount in Kirsi, probably more than anyone’s sought out,” Sovran hummed. “On the surface, yeah, cold and snowy. You’d hardly be able to tell there’s anything under the ice until you go under it and see Roston. Everythin's made of ice with insulation added to help folks keep warm if they need it. Most Kirsians don't need it: We've become accustomed to the temperatures.” Sovran adjusted the collar of his coat. “Roston’s a big city, had plenty of buildings and areas to check out, plenty of greenhouses to grow vegetables since that was the only way we could get it down there. Lots of sledding dogs, too, as they were used for transportation on the surface. You’d find sheds of these big ol’ dogs, they were always ready for a good run through the snow.” Some details were left out, of course, but he included some of the more fun ones for a kid to find some intrigue in. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian didn't really answer Sovran's question. He was quiet, intently listening to the man talk about the city. His expression began to shift a little and Kian gently clutched at his cape as Sovran spoke. With the initial surprise gone, a faint look of worry replaced it as he heard Sovran speak of Roston in the past tense. "I-It sounds nice, yeah.. I've.. I-I've never been to Roston itself, but I've been near before. Just on the boarder of Kirsi for.. other reasons," Kian vaguely answered. "...W-Why do you speak of it in the past tense? Sovran had hoped that the kid wouldn’t have entirely caught onto that. His hand itched for his box of cigs that weighed in his pocket. Running a hand through messy curls, the man continued speaking. “Well, sounds like you visited one of the port towns, maybe. Great places to be at, they get a lot of goods from all sorts of places.” He sighed. “As for the past tense- Roston ain’t like how it used to be. Haven’t been there in a while, but it was sometime after-” The man paused. “An attack on Roston that I had visited.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"A-An attack?!" Kian repeated, much more shocked than a normal stranger should be about it. It seems like Kian caught onto that right after he said it, and the boy awkwardly shifted. "S-Sorry.. I didn't mean to be so loud.. uhm.. I-Is.. Is Roston okay? Is Kirsi okay as whole?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

".. Have you been to Roston, kid? Or further into Kirsi?" Sovran asked, raising his other eyebrow with intrigue and slight concern. "If you're familiar with the area, it's all good, nothin' to hide." The grown man let out a tired sigh. "Roston's recovering, the people are-.. Well, they're doin' the best they could. Lots of people were killed and harmed during the attack, others were kidnapped." Barely noticeable to anyone without a keen eye, they would've missed Sovran's slight finch at the mention of kidnapping. It was a slight uncomfortable and anxious flicker across his face and the tapping of his index finger against his thigh before it was well masked. "They're doing their best with what they got." It was so difficult for Kian to be subtle. The word didn't even exist in the dictionary most of the time to him. Every single person Kian had talked to so far has caught onto something of his. Kian shifted slightly and the hold he had on his cape tightened. "..I-I really have not traveled far into it. Uhm.. M-My mom, my uncle.. a-and some others, they told me as much as they knew about it when I was younger.. the rest I figured out on my own," Kian explained. The 'some others' were none other than his loyal feline and aviary companions. As Sovran continued, Kian's frown became prominent. Especially when the older man subtly flinched. "W-Who did the attack?" Kian asked. There was only one place he could even conceive of attacking such a hidden place... and if his thinking was correct, it made Kian feel uneasy. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Something was definitely off about the kid, but Sovran couldn't put his finger on it. "Ah, so you've heard about it from the grapevine and from your own experience.." "It was conducted by a dictator who's been hell-bent on infiltrating Kirsi for decades. He finally made it happen." He cleared his throat. "That's a bit of a rough topic for a kid like yourself to hear about." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian's hand tightened around the cloth of his cape, very clearly signaling that the boy knew who Sovran was talking about. "I am not a child," Kian calmly said, but his expression betrayed his words. He looked worried, almost scared that he figured out what must of occurred in Roston. "T-The dictator... It was Cerau, wasn't it?" Kian stated. He couldn't keep his worry hidden anymore. His thoughts raced about his uncle and companion, so much so that his knuckles turned white. Were they okay? What was going on in this world that something like this could happen? What about his mom? Did she die knowing about this? @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“.. Y’know your stuff, kid, most folk don’t know that Cerau even exists. Yeah, it was the dictator of Cerau behind it.” Sovran fought to keep his voice steady. His hand continued to fiddle with his box of cigs in his pocket. He was starting to become too anxious for his own liking. “Where’re you from, kid? You got royal lookin’ clothes. Most folk don’t know about Cerau, so part of me says that you’re from the kingdom triad. Ryla’s the only one with those colors. That where you’re from?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

It took everything in Kian to not let out all the thoughts running in his head. He froze for a few moments, a look of terror in his eyes as all of the information soaked in. Kian couldn't say anything at first. He looked up at Sovran, then the ground, then to the roses on his cape. Sovran was from Roston. He would obviously know about the kingdom triad—Kirsi, Ryla, and Cerau. This man knew who his family was in this world. Kian's whole body shook as he realized what that meant. "No. N-Not Ryla. Not Cerau and not Kirsi," Kian's voice started to shake, "W-What of the Cerau dictator? Is Prince Enzo okay? I-Is Ryla okay??" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran frowned as he looked at Kian. “.. D’you wanna maybe have a seat? Would that help you feel a bit cozier? Or would a walk help you with your jitters, kid?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"P-Please answer my questions, Mr. Sovran. T-That would help," Kian immediately urged. He needed to know. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran bit back a sigh as he crossed his arms over his chest. “Cerau’s long been flooded, it no longer stands. Thought the god took out the dictator with the island, but he managed to escape. Ryla’s doin’ just fine, so I’ve heard last.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Finally, Kian's shoulders visibly relaxed. It was a shame Cerau was destroyed, but perhaps it was something that was bound to happen—sooner or later. Cansu must of decided that was the best decision for this world. "O-Oh.. So the prince is alive. That's good to hear. As is Ryla," Kian nodded. "..I do feel bad for the Kingdom people. They did not deserve Cansu's wrath.. But I suppose it was bound to happen. I.. I-I am sorry about Roston. It seems like the triad has it rough here." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

The kid didn’t need any more stress. Sovran decided to leave the truth out about the prince. “Yeah, they’re both alright. As for the kingdom, it was a lot of lives lost, but if a deity decided that the best way to deal with it was through that, then maybe that’s what was meant to happen.” He gave a slight shrug. “The triad’s been through heck and back, but at least Ryla and part of Kirsi are standin’. They’re doin’ well.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian nodded along, no longer as worried or stress as he was just moments earlier. "T-That's good. Great, e-even. Do you know what the prince and deity of Cerau are doing now, Mr. Sovran..? Maybe.. m-maybe how the queen of Ryla and her family are doing?" Kian already knew from Agustin that his family of this world had already began to crumble, but perhaps Sovran knew something different. It was hopeful wishing. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu (edited)

“I’m unsure about the prince, but Cansu hasn’t been seen in a good while. I haven’t been keepin’ up with the deity. As for the queens, they’re still thrivin’. I think they got two or three kids now? I’m not all that sure when it comes to their family.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Cansu was missing? That was strange. Even if Enzo had relinquished the bond, he doubted the deity would just vanish. Kian remembered Cansu was quite attentive, even if he acted and said things like he, 'didn't want to be here' or he was 'wasting his time here'. Perhaps Sovran just wasn't informed of such deep details. Sovran's vague knowledge of his mom seemed to confirm the idea. "I-I see... a shame. I would of liked to of known if he was okay," Kian said with the faintest of smiles. "W-Well.. with Roston invaded and I assume destroyed.. What do you do now, Mr. Sovran? “My place is still there in Roston. It’s beat up, but stable enough.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Now an’ days, I do a lot of traveling for my- Work. I camp around a lot, so my home’s on the road.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian nodded. "O-Oh, well, I'm glad it's still there at least. What do y-you work as, Mr. Sovran?" The boy curiously asked. He couldn't really tell from the way Sovran dressed. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“My work? That’s a- Bit complicated, kid,” Sovran chuckled. “Nothin’ to really put much thought into.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian raised a brow at that and titled his head. "I-I won't judge, Mr. Sovran. I have met a lot of different people before. Nothing really surprises me," he reassured with a smile. "U-Unless it's confidential, o-of course. I understand." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu (edited)

"It's a bit confidential, sorry, kid," Sovran gave him a grin. "Thanks for bein' understandin', though. Now, d'you mind me askin' what's your deal? You seem pretty well versed with the triad. You don't gotta answer if you don't wanna, just curious." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian's smile wavered just a bit at Sovran's question, and he awkwardly fidgeted with his cape. "M-My deal? I'm.." Kian thought about his choices. He had already revealed a lot about himself with asking questions about the triad, and Sovran seemed pretty sharp. Lying wasn't something Kian wanted to do, so... "W-Would you believe me if I said the queen of Ryla a-and the queen of Laputa are my mothers?" He said sheepishly. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran's grin eased into a smile. "I can say I've been speculatin' it. Your garbs are that of Rylan royalty mixed with Laputa's, bit of a give away for those who're familiar with the type of clothin'." Sovran hummed. "Plus, I haven't checked in with the Queens in quite some time, I wouldn't have known if they had a son or not." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian chuckled lightly, a little flustered about the situation. "I-I see.. Well, yes. I am Kian Ravina von Valois. Sole prince and son of the queens, Aeva Ravina, and Opal von Valois, of Laputa." That was a title Kian hadn't given out in years, and it felt a little foreign leaving his tongue these days. "You.. A-Are you familiar with my mothers, Mr. Sovran? I have never heard about someone of your name before.. We have quite a big family, but I-I do my best to keep up with the names of friends too." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Good to properly meet ya, little prince,” Sovran smiled. “I’m quite familiar with your mothers, they’re quite great rulers who’re truly there for the people. They have their best interest in mind.” He hummed. “I don’t expect my name to come up much, I wouldn’t say I’m a friend, I’m more of an acquaintance. I got a bit closer to Queen Ravina, if I’m honest, though that’s because she’s most familiar with Kirsi with personal experience.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian smiled hearing about his mothers. It reminded him slightly of how they were. God, he missed them. "Oh, I-I see. Mom always did have more outside circles than mother. How did you two meet, Mr. Sovran? I know mom d-didn't always have all the time in the world to visit other kingdoms after getting married, s-so I suppose it makes sense I never met you," Kian commented. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“‘fraid that’s confidential too, kid,” Sovran’s smile turned sympathetic. “But I’ll say we met because of the dictator. Rough situations bring people together. I always swung by late at night at the kingdom, so you were probably asleep.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"Because of Cerau..?" Kian asked, his brow raising once more. He knew of the war that once ravaged Ryla, and the way Cerau had caused most of it, but if that's what brought Sovran and his mother to meet, it made the boy sad. "I-I see.. It must of been a difficult time," Kian commented. It sort of hurt to know there were still things he didn't know fully about his parents, his mom especially. She had died when he was still pretty young, so many things she took to the grave with her. "A-About my mom.. Could.. C-Could you tell me more about her? What she was like before being queen?" The boy's eyes seemed to sparkle with curiosity. He always wanted to know more about the people he loved, and this was the perfect opportunity. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“It was a difficult time for a lot of people, but they’re doin’ the best they can now.” Sovran’s smile turned sympathetic once more. “Sorry to disappoint, squirt, I dunno much about how she was before she was a queen. I’ve only ever known her as Queen Ravina.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

The boy's smile faded just a tad, but he did his best to hide his disappointment. "Ah.. I-I see. Well, thank you anyways, Mr. Sovran. I am happy to just hear that my mom was able to touch the heart of others. S-She was always good to me and my sisters. I-I.. quite miss her," Kian said, having to glance away before any unsavory emotions slipped through his voice. Kian subtly pinched the skin around his eyes, trying to hide any tears that threatened to fall. "Uhm.. S-So then, Mr. Sovran.. Y-You must also have powers if you were taken here. What, uhm.. W-What kind do you have? Unless that's also confidential?" Kian laughed quietly, trying to lift the mood. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Sorry to disappoint you, kid.” Sovran spoke genuinely. It was clear as day that the kid was sad. Though, for entirely what reason, he was unsure of. The Queens were still alive; they were thriving and living the best lives they could, given their circumstances. “My powers aren’t confidential,” Sovran managed a smile. “They’re called ‘replicate.’ Based on the type of bonds I make with people, I get a bit of their power to use. Then from there, it gets a bit complicated.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Sure, was Kian sad and disappointed? Yes. But was he also genuinely curious about what Sovran's powers was? Also yes. Kian looked up at the older man with a confused brow and blinked. That sounded a bit like his own powers. That certainly piqued the boy's interest. "O-Oh, wow! That's r-really, really cool, Mr. Sovran. So, uhm. Do you get a bit of everyone you meet's power by default.. o-or are there certain requirements?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Certain requirements are there. I gotta form genuine bonds with people to get a bit of their power. It doesn’t automatically go, y’know?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian nodded, taking mental notes of Sovran's explanation. "T-That makes sense.. Uhm.." The boy seemed to pause for a second. "S-So.. Do you have pieces of.. m-my mothers' too? The Prince of Cerau's?" Kian shyly asked. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran was silent for a moment before he gave a nod of his head. “I do, of Queen Ravina and Prince Enzo. In some ways, I was closer with Enzo. We met up on our travels sometimes, it wasn’t often, but often enough to be noteworthy.” He paused once more. “.. Would you like to see them? My powers present themselves as physical manifestations of the person who I have a bond with, a ‘remnant’ of them.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Already, Kian had reached an emotional threshold with Agustin and Rakin with his family photo. Now, Sovran was offering to show a physical piece of said family to him. Kian fought back his first immediate response. A pathetic, desperate, 'Yes. More than anything, yes. I want to see them.' The prince managed to bite his tongue and looked down to the floor once more, giving Sovran a small nod instead. Even if it wasn't the same, Kian would take any piece of his family he could. Sovran gave a short nod of his head. Two figures suddenly appeared at his side. One was a glowing feminine figure that began to take form into Aeva. She glowed a radiant, yet soothing, red as her features developed. Occasionally, there was a flicker through her that was reminiscent of flames. The Queen was donned in her royal garbs of red and black, and upon her head sat her crown. She truly was the definition of royalty, of a Queen dedicated to her people. The second figure took form just as quickly as Aeva did. Enzo appeared in just the opposite manner, perhaps looking the most familiar to Kian. He was wearing his typical jacket with his t-shirt and ripped jeans. His body was glowing a calming blue like that of the sea reflecting moonlight. The Prince didn’t look the same age as Aeva; he looked a bit younger than the Queen did, so it could be inferred that it had been years since Sovran had actually seen Enzo. The two figures stood beside Sovran and looked to Kian. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

To say Kian was overwhelmed was an understatement. Kian wasn't sure just what Sovran's remnants would look like, but the moment he saw his mom's familiar figure, it took everything in Kian to order his body to stay still. His hand gripped tightly onto his cape and his shoulders visibly shook. When he saw Enzo, Kian's gaze noticably saddened. His uncle was significantly younger in Sovran's memory, and in a form that Kian was most foreign to. Enzo was also slouching and tired, but he was at least happier during the times Kian had seen him. This Enzo seemed to reflect the man's younger years of travel. Kian knew of those days being the hardest on his uncle. Kian gazed upon the two figures, looking back and fourth as tears started to bud in the corner of his eyes. It felt surreal to see them, even in this manner. The boy didn't say anything at first. Nothing at all. His expression was mixed. Not quite joyous, nor sad. Perhaps distant, and a bit nostalgic. Like seeing faces of someone you thought you had forgotten. "...H-Hello," Kian said in a quiet and hesitant voice. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Like the Queen she was, Aeva greeted Kian with a bow as she placed her hand over her heart. Enzo's greeting came in the form of him giving Kian a small nod of acknowledgement. "They can't talk," Sovran spoke softly. "But they can react to what you say.. I'm sorry if they're different from how you know them as.." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"O-Oh.. so they probably react in a w-way you remember them as," Kian commented with a small nod. That would explain the politeness in his mom's posture. Kian remembered his mother as an overjoyed and excited person. He missed her small jumps as she would jog to hug him. Enzo's reaction was more similar to what Kian would expect, at least. Kian studied them over, a faint smile finally settling on his lips. "I-It has been some time since I've seen them like this. It.. feels strange. Like I'm seeing ghosts."@Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“That’s definitely how it feels sometimes,” Sovran chuckled somewhat tiredly. “Ghosts. Few of my remnants in particular make me feel that way. ‘pose it might feel a bit overwhelmin’ if you haven’t seen ‘em in a while.” Sovran paused. “.. How long has it been since you’ve seen your Ma and uncle, if you don’t mind me askin’, kid.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian glanced up at Sovran as he spoke. The older man seemed reminiscent. He wondered if there was someone he remembered fondly to make him speak that way. "Uhm.. It's b-been some time. W-Would you believe me if I said it's b-been over... t-two hundred years?" Kian replied quietly. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

The remnants both exchanged their own expressions of confusion while Sovran frowned slightly. “I’d be a bit confused, bud, ‘specially since the queen’s still alive right now. Sovran was silent as he analyzed Kian. There was something definitely off about Kian, and that might’ve been what was bugging him in the first place: The kid’s from a different time and place, and has lived for far longer than he anticipated. Kian instinctively closed one of his eyes when Sovran's ruffled his hair, and a small flustered smile grew on his lips. "T-There is nothing you need to apologize for, Mr. Sovran. I, uh.. I-I'm tougher than I look," Kian said with a faint laugh. "R-Really.. I'm just.. shocked to learn of you now, Mr. Sovran. My family was always keen on g-getting to know everyone involved, even if just briefly for politeness. You obviously know of my mom in her prime.." "Maybe that's the case," Sovran gave a slight shrug. His brain went back to the fall of Roston, and for a moment, he wondered if he had died there. "Or, as you said, maybe there's a different reason. Did the fall of Roston occur in your time? Just- Curious. Maybe that's the case." Realizing he had his hand placed for perhaps a moment too long, Sovran pulled away. He let out a quiet laugh as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, kid, I could use their powers. I got fire from the Queen, and water from the Prince. The prince shook his head at Sovran's question. "N-No.. As far as I know, Roston still stands well in Kirsi. U-Uncle En--I-I mean, the prince of Cerau and Cansu had flooded Cerau before I was even born. T-That was why I was shocked to learn of Roston in your world, Mr. Sovran," Kian explained. Kian smiled faintly as the conversation continued. "Ah, I-I see. Mom always did prefer her fire element. I am surprised to hear you picked w-water from the prince, however. The Cansu I knew was always round and puffy from his static," the boy chuckled softly. Sovran frowned. “Then there’s a good chance I had remained in Roston and never sought out the world. I likely would’ve stayed there and probably wouldn’t have ever met the Prince or the Queen. I likely wouldn’t have met you, either.” A small chuckle came from Sovran. “Tell me ‘bout it, that deity’s electrifying for sure. I already got lightnin’ from a different bond of mine, so it likely went onto water because of that.” At the mention of Cansu, the remnant of Enzo made a face. Hearing Sovran's explanation, it actually made a lot of sense. Cerau was gone before he was born, so that meant the citizens of Roston would have no reason to flee either. Kian nodded and smiled a bit more. "That would explain the gap. Perhaps the me of your world will meet you some time," Kian suggested with a childish glee as his hand relaxed to his side. "Ah.. t-that also makes a lot of sense. I don't think powers can necessarily double up," he giggled, and even more so when he saw Enzo and Aeva reactions. "Oh, d-don't worry, Uncle Enzo. Cansu is actually a r-really nice bird. He plays and cuddles with me a lot. Kian smiled a bit more at the idea of Sovran meeting his younger self. "I-I apologize in advance if I am a bit overwhelming when you meet me. I sometimes don't know when to stop with silly questions," he chuckled. He continued to smile even as Enzo crossed his arms. "I-It's true what I'm saying, Uncle Enzo.. I-I wish you could see Cansu now. I know you and him never quite saw eye to eye.. b-but he's a good bird. To me, he is," Kian smiled fondly. Sovran cleared his throat. So smooth. He nailed that. “I think they’re close. The prince would bring him up every now and then, and he had a glimmer in his eyes when he spoke. If Kian had been about 240 years younger, he definitely would of asked if Sovran had a crush on his uncle, but perhaps that would be a problem for Sovran once he went back home. Kian smiled as he heard Sovran's words, a similar glimmer to his own eyes as he listened. "I-I'm happy to hear that at least that is similar in your world, Mr. Sovran," he said before looking up to Sovran. The glimmer in the boy's eyes became a sparkle of curiosity. That was a nice thought—That in every world, Persis and Enzo were close. It made Kian smile even more. Given the go ahead, Kian turned back to the remnant of his mom. She looked exactly the way he remembered her... The slight wrinkle to her eyes when she smiled, her calm and elegant posture, the way she tucked one side of her hair behind her ear... It was just like the day he last saw her. Kian moved slowly at first, his step feeling heavy as he walked towards Aeva. However, despite the short distance between them, Kian nearly toppled into the remnant with how fast he went to her in the end. 200 years or not, he was still her son. Kian’s hand would go through Aeva’s, but there was the sensation of warmth that was exactly that of his mother’s all those years ago. Her warmth was always like the sun on a soothing summer’s day, the type of warmth where it felt as though the sun’s beams were trying to embrace an individual. It was the type of warmth that truly made a person feel alive. Everything that made Aeva Aeva was presented to Kian in this remnant. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"M-Mom.." Kian's voice was small and fragile. Even if this wasn't his mom, the warmth Kian associated with Aeva was the same. Tears sprung to the boy's eyes and this time, he didn't fight them. Hot tears fell from Kian's eyes and suddenly, the prince seemed to recoil as something intensely burned on his back. Kian let out a surprised gasp of pain and he hunched inward, his hand going to his back where he felt the burn. It had been years since he felt this power appear, but in the moment, it made sense to Kian. Kian winced as the burning continued. He didn't look up at Sovran or Aeva. He just kept his head down close to his chest. "I-I.. s-sometimes, my powers a-appear when I get r-really, really emotional. It's--It's a-a lot to explain, Mr. Sovran," the boy replied. Kian continued to rest his hand on his back, feeling the faint burn trace out a symbol. Two. God, when would the burning stop? A sudden cold feeling washed over Kian as the burning stopped. The pain had stopped, but replacing it was a feeling of emptiness. Kian had never felt like this before. A bead of tears dripped from the corner of Kian's eyes as he finally looked up at Sovran, an unreadable expression in the boy's gaze. "W.. W-What did you d-do?" Sovran managed a tired smile. “Let’s call that the ‘confidential’ reason of why I’d visit your kingdom. He managed a small nod at Sovran's suggestion, but instead of going towards a bed or a chair, Kian just fell to the floor. “Just take all the time you need,” Sovran frowned slightly. Maybe he should’ve gone with a different element to try and soothe Kian. Nullify was a powerful ability, one that Sovran had difficulty in telling if it was appropriate to use or not. A flash of guilt went through him. Kian listened to Sovran intently. Talking about his struggles began to fill the boy up with a calmness, replacing the empty feeling from before. The boy hummed quietly and looked down at the roses clipped to his cape. His loved ones.. his family, and home. The two brilliant roses represented all of those things to Kian. Kian would feel surprisingly light against Sovran. For a boy who was six feet tall, he didn't weigh much. He closed his eyes as he rested against Sovran, and his breathing relaxed. Maybe it was because of how similar he thought they were. Finally catching his breath, and feeling his tears dry, Kian felt like himself again. For a second there, Kian thought he may of said something uncomfortable or awkward, as Sovran went quiet. However, that worry quickly faded when he heard Sovran talk again. "Of course. S-See? I'm a good talker," he joked with a small laugh and turned his head towards Aeva and Enzo once more. "S-Sorry for that thing back there. You didn't hurt me, mom. You never would. “You’re a mighty good talker, bud.” Sovran chuckled. Aeva gave Kian a kind and understanding smile. She looked relieved to know that she hadn’t caused the boy any pain. Once more, she extended her hand to him as she took a step forward. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Seeing Aeva offer her hand again, Kian was more emotionally prepared. The boy stumbled back up onto his feet and walked over once more. He did the same as before, taking her hand as gently as he would when he was a boy. The only thing that was different to Kian was the fact he had to look down at his mom when standing by her side now. "...I-In my world, my mom passed away when I was fourteen. Oh, how Kian wished that to be true. Unbeknownst to Sovran or Aeva in any universe, Kian did everything he did to try and make his family proud of him. Everything was for them. Kian's hand slightly shook before he glanced to the floor, and he faintly smiled. "I-I hope so.." He nodded and slowly retracted his hand. Aeva brought her hands together in front of herself before she gave two thumbs up. She smiled at Kian in an encouraging manner. It seemed that she was trying to reassure the boy that he was doing the right thing, that she was proud of him for the work he had done so far. “Yeah, I felt that, bud,” Sovran let out a quiet sigh. “I wonder the same thing, but you seem like a great person. Kian let out a small laugh when he saw his mom give him her thumbs up. Very typical mom. Kian returned the thumbs up, wanting to believe in himself like this small part of his mom did. "T-Thank you.. Both of you," he replied and turned back around to face Sovran. Like with Agustin, Kian didn't have the heart to reveal the details to why he was acting the way he was, but it was nice to hear someone have faith in him--even if in his opinion, it was misplaced. Aeva beamed with a smile. “I bet, bud,” Sovran nodded his head in understanding. That was a long time to have your mind fill with doubts. “That’s a lot of time to wonder, ain’t it? His smile fell a little at that, and the boy turned back to look at Aeva. His mom wasn't around long, a meager fourteen years, but she had such a big impact on Kian. He wondered just how much time he'd get with Sovran--His Uncle Agustin here too. Life was so fleeting when you were mortal. "Y-Yeah.." Kian nodded, his voice small. "I, uhm.. Just right when Kian felt like he was okay, he felt emotions start to prick at his eyes again. Sovran had a comforting touch, but Kian knew he shouldn't grow use to it. The boy's shoulders visibly sagged and he shook his head. "I-It's okay. I'm sorry. I-I just.. get really emotional easily," Kian replied solemnly. Yet another thing he had not grown out of. A flash of another boy flashed into mind, one who struggled with the same difficulties. Sovran had a feeling both Kian and Evan would both be friends. Maybe he'd go and introduce the two of them. "It's alright, I understand, bud," Sovran gave Kian's hair another ruffled before he pulled his hand away. "It's alright to be sad 'bout things, your feelin's are valid, you just can't let that sadness overwhelm you." Like with Connie, his pointer finger lowered and gave Kian's nose a boop. Oh, how Kian wished Sovran knew just how much his sadness overwhelmed him daily. That wasn't important to mention, though. Instead, he managed to lift the corners of his lips into a faint smile and gave Sovran a nod. "Y-Yeah.. thank you, Mr. Sovran. I.. really can't thank you enough, though. Kian's eyes seemed to sparkle at the prospect of another person his age being here. He quickly looked at the person pointed out and he smiled. "R-Really? Uncle Agustin told me about some other boys about my age too.. I-I really would like to talk to them all.." He commented with an excited buzz. Kian nodded. "Mhm! I-I think I will if she's free.. if not, I think I'll just wander around some more. Learn about our environment," he replied, though he did also laugh. "I've been outside a few times already, s-so I think I'll be okay," Kian smiled. "And yeah, I think those are the names.. I didn't t-think there would be more people my age around.. but I'm kinda relieved to hear it," he admitted with a shy smile. "Well- Yeah, as much of a good time that we can have with all that considered," Sovran scratched at his stubble once more. "I'm glad that I got to meet you, an' Con, an' Jymaiyri, so that's a positive in all of this. Kian nodded in agreement. "Y-Yeah.. that'd be nice. I'm glad I came here too, r-regardless why we were brought here," he said with a fond smile. "I-I think I'm going to go walk around now, Mr. Sovran. Clear up my head a little and see if I can m-meet some more people. Are you going to be okay b-by yourself?" Kian asked. Once more, Sovran reached out and ruffled Kian's hair. "I'll be just fine, Kian, I'm never truly by myself," He motioned with his head over towards the remnants. "But I'll be good. Kian giggled softly as Sovran ruffled his hair and he nodded. "Okay. I'm just making sure," Kian replied with a small smile. "Stay safe, Mr. Sovran," he told the older man before taking a step away and waving goodbye. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu
