Dante led Theora all the way over to the ice stream, but he stopped before he stepped on the ice. "If I walk on there, heavens, I'll just melt right through the ice and drag you with me! You must carry me across so we can reach Zahara.." Dante put the back of his hand up to his forehead dramatically and looked over to Theora expectantly. ... Zahara could be seen sitting on the ice over where the glowing rock was with her hands folded together. Theora could probably figure out that that was Zahara without any further hints. Or having to carry Dante. @soul | 🎻

Theora stared at the ice, then at Dante, then at Zahara. She said nothing as she left Dante behind. She walked over to Zahara and, as soon as both were in hearing range, said, "Where is Miles?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"W-wait! Malady! Waaaaaaaaaaaaait!" Dante's voice was slowly drowned out by the distance and wind between them. Zahara was sitting on her knees with her eyes closed and hands together. Her only reaction to Theora was slightly furrowing her eyebrows and clenching her hands together more. @soul | 🎻

Dante was ignored. "Dante told me you would know. Miles. Brown hair. Might be tall. Stupid looking. We've swapped sides." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Once again, Zahara was ignoring her. @soul | 🎻

Theora stepped closer to Zahara. "I need to bring Miles back." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Ignoring. Zahara faced her head down toward the ice more. @soul | 🎻

Well, Zahara could quite literally pray all night long! That was her favorite activity. @soul | 🎻

Theora stepped as close as she physically could to Zahara. "I want to kill Miles." That seemed to get a reaction out of people. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Still nothing. Zahara was nothing if not dedicated to praying. "Malady!!! Miss Zahara would listen to meeeeeeee!" Dante's screeching could faintly be heard over the sound of the howling wind back at shore. @soul | 🎻

As Theora registered Dante's screech, her entire face scrunched up. She nudged Zahara with her foot. She was desperate. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Once she was nudged, Zahara instantly moved her hands down and glared up at Theora. "Do ya have NO respect for someone prayin'?!" She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. @soul | 🎻

Oh thank fuck she didn't have to talk to Dante. "No. I don't know what that is. I'm talking to you." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Wh- you.. Don't pray to no one?" Zahara asked, now looking a mixture between shocked and still pisseed off. "And I know, I could hear ya yappin!" @soul | 🎻

"The only people I need to talk to are constantly listening." Theora paused. "Not right now. Not while I'm away." Girl can you not. "Why didn't you answer me?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"I ain't talk to ya cuz I'm talkin to Raina! Sit and pray with me! Least ya can do. And also apologize." (edited)

"Who's Raina?" Theora scrunched up her face again. "What's the point of praying?" Girl this is not how you get information. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Raina is my king, the king of all the froglings! I'da thunk you'd know that by now.." Zahara huffed. "I pray to talk to him. And to get comfort. And to praise him. He's been going through a lot. He needs support." @soul | 🎻

"Cuz y'all have been here for a few hours now! Ain't ya talk to anyone else bout anything besides Miles?" @soul | 🎻

"Miles is the only reason I was sent out. Once I find him, I bring him back and I'm allowed to sleep." Short answer, no. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Well ya ain't going nowhere from here, even if ya get Miles for whatever reason. Ya should pray about it. That's what I do." @soul | 🎻

"I'll find a way," Theora retorted. However, she did crouch down - very awkwardly, as if forcing her knees to crouch down. "What are you supposed to pray to?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Well I pray to King Raina. And you ain't sittin right-" Zahara shoved Theora over so she was properly down on her knees and real pathetic looking. Without any real winter clothes this ice was probably freezing her shins. "There. Now put your hands together. Ya can pray to anyone who has helped you. Or is powerful. Or you like a whole lot." @soul | 🎻

Theora yelped - an involuntarily high sound jumping out that briefly showed a terror at something. But it cut off as soon as it came, suddenly silenced by herself. "No one helped me. I don't like anybody." But she knew powerful people. Worthy of praying to. She tried her best to ignore the ice, the cold, but that wasn't going to last long. After some consideration, she put her hands together. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Well just pick someone you can tolerate then. Or you can pray to King Raina like me. He's worthy of everyone's praise." Zahara said and closed her eyes again. She was still listening for if Theora was going to move, though. "You can just thank them, or ask for something, or tell them about your day. You can do whatever you want. You can say it out loud or in your head." @soul | 🎻

"No." Rude. Theora closed her eyes. Not that it mattered - she saw through her Eyes instead. Some of them were dark. Some of them were places she didn't remember. A lot were the facility. And a lot of those were empty rooms. Cleaned. And some were newer. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

... Notably those Eyes she had placed around the A side have all been covered up by large boulders... "Well I ain't able to look in to your mind. So just hush if you ain't got nothin' nice to say." @soul | 🎻

Theora's eyes snapped open. She yelled in frustration and hit the ice. Ow. Cold. "He's there and I can't see him!" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

At the impact, Zahara jolted and opened her eyes again. "I said shush! Why are you even here?!" @soul | 🎻

"Because I need to find Miles so I can take him back and he gets what he fucking deserves!" Theora snapped, breathing heavy. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽 (edited)

"That weird flirty thing-" She gestured vaguely where Dante was in the distance. "-told me that you talked to Rakin, who moved him to the other side! You're supposed to help me!" Theora inhaled sharply at the last part. "He betrayed me! If I was allowed to, I'd kill him!" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"-Dante-" Zahara said as Theora gave the vague description of him. "Yes- Rakin is Raina. But I don't owe ya his company! Especially since ya just wanna use him tuh kill Miles!" @soul | 🎻

"What?" That actually confused Rakin. "You're praying to Rakin? Why would you?" Rakin did not deserve being prayed to. "I'm not allowed to kill Miles. I want to, but they need him alive." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Rakin is Raina, and Raina is my king, the frogling who saved everyone so heroically. You wouldn't understand. You weren't there. And I don't care. I ain't getting Rakin to help you to hurt nobody." @soul | 🎻

"I'm taking Miles back where he belongs!" Theora insisted. "He'll be safer there, he'll be asleep again!" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Asleep! Like he's supposed to be! And until he's asleep again, I can't sleep!" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Why do ya want both of ya to be sleeping?!" @soul | 🎻

"I can't sleep at all! I used to be able to- but Miles betrayed me and I was sent back and now I can't sleep at all. Once he's asleep again, they'll give it back." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Wh- how long have ya been awake for?" @soul | 🎻

"How are ya even alive? Ya can't go that long without sleepin.. Literally." @soul | 🎻

Theora stared at Zahara, like it was obvious. "My brain doesn't need sleep to stay alive now. They'll fix it once I'm done." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"That ain't-" Zahara paused as there was suddenly cracking from beneath her on the ice. "Oh shoot-" She tried to move, but couldn't get out of the way in time as the cracks spread, eventually shattering beneath her and sending her in to the frigid water below. Thankfully, she could somewhat tread the water, but the cold was getting to her. "H-help-" Zahara was cut off as she was violently shoved under the ice, and a familiar face peaked up from the water next to her. (Drowning) "Malady! I helped! Now Rakin will surely be on his way to save Zahara in no time, you're welcome!" He smiled wide as he continued to hold Zahara under the water as she thrashed around.

Theora didn't move as the ice cracked. There was no instinct there. However, she understood the panic, but she did not understand why Dante was doing that. She just stared, in confusion, in slight horror, in disgust. She wasn't even that sure she was getting anywhere with Zahara. She'd been too obsessed with the sleeping aspect. Didn't understand the bigger picture. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

(Choking) Well, just as Dante had predicted, static was building in the air around them, making Theora's hair stand on end. Rakin zapped in to existence a few meters away from everyone, careful to not strike the water, and dashed over to Dante with incredible haste. He reached both hands in to the water and with his left, lifted Zahara out of the water by her arm, and with his right, grabbed Dante by his neck. Dante released Zahara the instant Rakin grabbed her, and quickly moved his hands up to grab Rakin's. "Urgh- I- I was just helping M-" Dante tried to plead his case, but Rakin thankfully silenced him with a strong shock, which knocked him out. He threw the unconcious man across the ice, skidding away with a small trail of smoke behind him. It seemed that his powers were canceled as he was knocked out, so he didn't melt through. Zahara had her arms wrapped around Rakin's chest and her face buried in his shoulder as her body shook with fear and cold. Rakin took in a deep breath, and slowly turned his head to stare at Theora. "This better have been important, but knowing what I do about you, this is something about Miles. Which is useless to be pestering me for." Rakin scowled. @soul | 🎻

This time Theora moved back but made absolutely no move to help Zahara, or Dante. She definitely wouldn't help Dante. For a time she just stared at Zahara but her eyes slowly moved over to Rakin. She was quiet for some more time, restructuring her thoughts. "You moved him to the other side," Theora eventually said, slowly. "I need Miles." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

(Choking again) Rakin's eye twitched as he glowered down at her. With Zahara still attached to him, he leaned over and grabbed Theora by the neck. He held her up in the air, still glaring just as intently. "You nearly got Dante to nearly drown Zahara just to continue to whine at me for something that is impossible." He seethed, tightening his grip slightly. "You. are. unbelievable." @soul | 🎻

tw: choking cont. Theora squeaked pitifully as she was grabbed and raised into the air by her throat. She thumped Rakin's arm to try to get him to stop, not that it hurt. "Let- go," she rasped, her hands trying to grab at Rakin's wrist. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Yeah, it didn't hurt, but Rakin was irritated enough by her to simply toss her in to the open water Dante had created. "You'd be best to stay away from Zahara, Theora." Rakin grumbled and began to walk over to Dante, Zahara still holding on to him for dear life. @soul | 🎻

She shrieked and tried to scramble to the surface again like a drenched cat in a bathtub. Theora opened her mouth to say something - probably something about Miles - but her teeth shattered when she tried to speak. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Rakin simply grabbed Dante, zapped him away, and walked away with a shivering Zahara. He had nothing else to say. @soul | 🎻

Theora dragged herself out of the water and to some measure of safety. Now she was definitely cold. All because she wants to kill a boy. World mean to her.
