(Smoking tw) Approaching the bonfire, Sovran let out a quiet sigh as he felt the fire's warmth. The glow of the flames illuminated his eyes into a fiery gold as he peered into the heat. From how close he was, it was almost a bit overwhelming, but he wouldn't stay close for long. Pulling his box of cigarettes from his pocket, he flicked one out and held it between his fingers. Sovran held it out to the flames, where the tip of it caught fire and began to burn. He quickly pulled it away and blew out the flame, letting the tip of it glow orange. With a deep inhale, he took in a puff from the cigarette before he exhaled the smoke. Immediately, he began to feel a bit calmer. The day had been hectic already. Brought into another planet, surrounded by kids who would have to fight and die, and unable to do anything to further help them was torturous. There was too much on his plate already. All he needed was a moment to himself to relax and enjoy a quick smoke. Then, he'd go back to being a shoulder for others to lean on. Another inhale, another exhale. Sovran stepped away from the flames. @Mister Jokestar (Whenever you're ready, take your time! You can have Scott approach whenever you'd like)

Scott couldn't sleep so he got up and decided to explore a bit on his own. However after stepping outside he decided it was too cold, and wandered toward the big heat source he could see. There seemed to be another individual smoking there. "You know smoking kills right?" Scott chuckled thinking about the situation they were in, smoking was the least of concerns. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

"Y'know, there's plenty of things in the world that people consume that can kill them," Sovran glanced over to the new individual who had approached. It was a young man- Someone older than Kian, but still quite younger than Sovran himself. Great, another young person here. This would add more to the stress nicely. Sovran took in a deep breath from his cig before he blew out the smoke in a short puff. "A cig's not gonna kill me," He hummed. "Haven't seen you yet, what's your name, bud?" @Mister Jokestar

"Scott. I really only talked to one other person who found me freaking out. What's your name?" He walked a bit closer to the individual but still kept a bit of distance. Who ever this is might not be as friendly as Ko. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

"Sovran Zelkovas, good to meet you," Sovran nodded his head. "Feelin' a bit better now about the whole teleportin' to another planet thing?" @Mister Jokestar

"Feeling better about it? Not really. But I'm a bit more calm." Scott needed to fidget with something and took out his box absent mindedly, he couldn't pull any of the cards out or shuffle them like he would with a typical deck so he just twirled the box around in his hands. "Are you feeling good about any of this?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Calm’s good. It’s good to keep a steady head in a situation like this,” Sovran took in a deep breath of his cigarette before letting it out as an exhale once more. “Me, I’m feelin’ alright. Not jumpin’ for joy or anythin’, but I’m alright. Hate that there’s a bunch of kiddos ‘round here, but there ain’t much I can do ‘cept look out for ‘em.” Sovran looked at Scott’s deck with intrigue. “What d’you got there?” @Mister Jokestar

"Oh nothing, just my ticket to living hell. It's a magic deck of cards, I think it's why I was chosen. Everyone here has something special about them, some power. These are mine, though I really don't think it's as useful as others may believe. It's a game with Lady fate, one in which I have no say other then when to play again." He showed him the box, but didn't hand it over, after all it was dangerous. It was mostly a simple box, white with a black accent, except for the icon on the front, a pentagram with a dot in the center, in red. Written above the symbol was 'Infernum et retro' @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Magic deck, huh?” Oh, Sovran was definitely intrigued. He took one more hit from his cigarette before he flicked it into the flames. In an instant, it was gone. “I consider myself a bit of a gamblin’ man, if I’m honest. What does your deck do?” He hummed. @Mister Jokestar

"It's uh... Complicated. Gambling man you say? I used to be quite partial to poker myself. I had to give up gambling though when I got engaged, haven't played anything in a while." Scott reminisced on the old days. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran’s expression softened. “Engaged, huh? Congrats on your engagement, marriage is a beautiful thing. I wish you and your partner nothin’ but the best.” Sovran looked back to the deck. “Well, I’d hate to drag you back into any bad habits, but I gotta admit, I’m curious.” @Mister Jokestar

"Well it's not like you would be able to play poker with this deck anyway, card comes out and it's effect is triggered, just the initial deal could do a lot of damage." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Lots of damage, huh? Well, Sovran was still intrigued. "What kind of damage?" He raised an eyebrow. "Environmental, personal..? I think I'm curious to try, if you let me." @Mister Jokestar

Scott thought about it, "I'd feel bad but there is a chance nothing bad happens..." Scott was feeling that old familiar itch... Chance. Laci luck knocking at his door. "Okay, but if you get hurt, it is not my fault. Do we know of a medical facility if it's needed?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“I’ll be honest, I dunno of any medical facilities ‘round here,” Sovran admitted. “But I know how to treat injuries. I’ll be careful. Whatever happens, happens.” @Mister Jokestar

Scott held the box up, unwilling to part from it but where Sovran could draw a card. "Alright then ... " He had a small smile like he was about to see an old friend again. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Alright. So, I just- Grab one?” Sovran asked. He slowly raised his hand to pluck a card out. @Mister Jokestar (What would he roll?)

(I rolled for the cards, cause it's complicated, @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽 is there a tree nearby to the bonfire?)

At the pull of the card he was able to see the 10 of diamonds before the card disappeared. Not far off a tree between to grow, and continued to grow till it was three times it's initial size standing out from the rest. Scott turned his attention to the sound of creaking wood. "Lucky, that one is pretty tame." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran watched as the tree grew. He raised an eyebrow as it grew and grew right before his eyes. "So, that card made the tree grow?" He asked. "What was the effect listed on the card?" @Mister Jokestar

"Well... Was it the 10 of diamonds? If so yeah that tree grew because of it. I did a lot of trial and error at one point to see what all the cards do but sometimes little things change so. It's not always listed. Like I said, it's all up to chance." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Yeah, it was the ten of diamonds.” Sovran nodded. “Huh, well that’s pretty- Interestin’.” He tried his best to hide his disappointment. Though, he wasn’t sure what he ultimately had expected. Maybe something a bit more? .. Part of him was tempted to pull another card. @Mister Jokestar

Scott recognized the look, "not satisfied? I'll pull the next one. We can switch it off depending on if and or when you get satisfied." Scott held the box up and got ready to pull another card. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“I’ll admit, I expected somethin’ a bit more flashy. But it was still pretty cool.” He grinned. “But I wouldn’t mind us pullin’ another one. Let’s see what else is up your sleeve, magic man.” @Mister Jokestar

Scott pulled out a card, then above the card almost like a slot machine the numbers 1-12 cycled in the air above the card before landing on 9, Scott didn't notice it but Sovran would see a bit of dirt get displaced as if something heavy was placed on it. And the smell of gasoline filled both their noses. However neither could see it, as it was invisible. As the card left scotts hand it was replaced with an invisible box of matches. He shook it once to hear the rattle. "Hmm... Matches." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

(well this could be interesting, I'll roll a d20 and if it's 1 or 2, a stray spark will make it into the gasoline, it's in a container, but it is also opened.)

Sovran was all too familiar with the scent. He looked to the floor, still raising an eyebrow, before he looked to Scott's hand. "Invisible arson?" He asked. "That's pretty interestin'." What was also interesting was how close they were to the bonfire. Very, very interesting, indeed. @Mister Jokestar

"Well it's not always invisible. The first card I drew made the next item invisible, if I drew the initial card that would summon the item it would be visible. I've got the matches in my hand, but... If we can find that gasoline..." Scott looked around but hadn't first clue where to start, and with the bonfire, felt that blindly thrusting his arms around would be not so great. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu (edited)

Sovran moved closer to the spot where the snow seemed to be smushed. He knelt down to one knee, momentarily frowning when his old man spine crackled in a few places, before he reached for the spot where he assumed the gasoline was at. "Think it's right here." @Mister Jokestar

He indeed would feel the can of gasoline and it would resemble a typical such can, extreme with a handle on top and a short spout. No lid was on the spout.

(still all clear) Scott was amazed he found it so quick, but once it was pointed out he too was able to see the imprint left on the snow. "Nice! You got some good eyes." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

"Thanks, man. I think I saw it spawn in." Sovran picked it up by the handle. "What d'you wanna do with this?" @Mister Jokestar

"Well it won't last long. Anything summoned eventually disappears so it won't be much use to us unless you have some use for it right now." Scott looked around. "Maybe put it over by the big tree? So it's further from the fire." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran hummed as he gave a nod of his head. He went over to the tree and set the invisible can of gasoline by it before he went back toward Scott. "If you summoned somethin' else with another card, would this item disappear?" Sovran asked once he was closer. "Like, would it cancel out the previous card?" @Mister Jokestar

"No the results stay until they disappear by themselves. I guess it's your card now?" Scott offered the box towards Sovran. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu (edited)

"Huh. Pretty cool, you can stock up on stuff, then." Sovran hummed. He went and plucked another card. @Mister Jokestar

Scott watched as he pulled a card and waited he looked around nothing seemed to happen, Sovran stops there as the card disappeared in his hand. "Hmm... " @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

For some reason, Sovran's blink felt longer than just a blink. His muscles felt heavier as he slowly lowered his hand. Why was everything slow? ".. Hhhhhhhuuuuhhhhhh.. Weeeeeeeeiiiiiiiirrrrddddd..." @Mister Jokestar

"Oh man... Not this one! At least there's no bass singing though... Sorry but you're stuck in slow motion... Thumbs up if you're alright?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

It took longer than either of them would've liked, but Sovran eventually gave Scott a thumbs up. @Mister Jokestar

"Well for the sake of fairness I'll pull one more for my end and then we will be even. " In truth Scott couldn't let the man beat him by taking more cards, he had to make sure it was equal. So no one had anything over the other. "Wiggle your thumb if you are ready, put your thumb down if you want me to wait." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Once more, it was slow for Sovran to move. He gave his thumb a little wiggle. Despite his condition, he was ready for this. @Mister Jokestar

Scott pulled another card, and as it disappeared everything within a 3 ft sphere from the card was covered in a thick layer of frost. Including both contestants, luckily being next to the fire the frost began to melt. Scott used his hands to get the frost off of his face then turned back towards Sovran , "oh uh... Let me just..." He reached towards Sovran face and brushed off the frost. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran blinked slowly as the frost suddenly appeared. While the cold didn't bug him, being stuck in slow motion still was annoying. He slowly held up another thumbs up. "Thhhhhhhaaaaaaanksss." He drawled out. @Mister Jokestar

"Well, in this condition I think it's best if we perhaps call it on the cards. At least until you return to normal. I have had all these cards affect me so I know what it feels like... Though one time it was worse cause I was trying to free Macy from a cage and just everything I was doing was going wrong and of course I get slow mode turned on and... Yeah it was rough. In the end she was the one who broke out, with only a little help from myself..." Scott found a tangent that seemed to get him talking.

With the tangent going on, it’s not like Sovran was able to really communicate or add to the conversation. All he did was give a thumbs up with another hand to signal that he was find stopping with the cards. @Mister Jokestar

"Uhh... So do you want to just wait here or maybe go somewhere else, I can help you along." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran shifted slightly. "I'llllllllllll stayyyyy heree." @Mister Jokestar

Scott nodded, "We'll have to do this again sometime I guess. It wear off soon." Scott started off to do something new. (Sorry this took so long) @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

(Don't worry, you're all good!) Sovran gave him a slow thumbs up. He was simply standing there for several more minutes before his body was finally released. With a groan, the man rubbed his back. "That sucked," He mumbled. With that, he headed away from the bonfire. @Mister Jokestar
