Ko has unlocked: CAMERA ROOM! Directly south of #phone-room another room opened up! This one looked like some kind of security room.. Tens of monitors jutting off from the stone walls surrounded a comfy looking office chair, with a keyboard and mouse sitting at a desk right in front of it. All of the monitors were off, though there was a power button on the floor next to the chair. Besides the obvious features, this room was different from the others since it all appeared to be inside. It was slightly warmer in here, there were hard wood floors, stone walls, and a tile ceiling instead of the usual glass view in to space. Without the monitors on it was pretty dark, the only light coming from the measely sources flooding in from #phone-room Everyone say thank you Ko!

Well, that fight was interesting! Aldreda wasn't too sure where Ko or Calamity ended back up, so she was just wandering around looking for something to do.. Ah! A new room. She brushed past the phone room after seeing some weird sad looking guy in one of the booths and strode in to the next room. "Ohohooo, looks like Bridge's epic gamer setup.." Aldreda said and plopped down in the chair, spinning around in it. "His chair is nicer though." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Connie, having spent most of her time during the fight playing with Nora and Taylor until the former got zapped away, was unsurprisingly, roaming around again. All of the friends she had made so far were all now just. Gone. On the other side. And she was just here, cold and miserably sad and lonely. Hey- on the bright side, at least they were just on the other side of the arena. She was making her way back to the phonebooths- perhaps to try talking to Dama again- before a new room caught her eye. A very dark but toasty room. Connie stood at the entrance to it for a moment before heading inside as well. At least there was someone here this time. "Is it a video gaming room?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Maybe! My good friend and maybe brother in law has a setup like this and he games all the time! On the Twitch!" Aldreda said and slammed her feet on the ground to stop the ceaseless spinning. The sudden jolt knocked the chair right over, sending her to the ground with it. "I'm alright!" She jumped back up, a few flames dancing on her shoulders as she did so. Gasp! A child.. Oh she looked to be younger than Altair! Well, he was an adult now, so obviously, but the mental image she had of him as an awful teenager remained strongly in the front of her mind. "I haven't turned it on yet, do you wanna do it with me? You youngins usually have a better idea of how this works than me." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"What's a Twitch?" Connie asked, promptly before the chair lady fell and ate ground. Connie yelped a little, immediately shuffling over to help her to her feet- but not before she was back up again, firey and a-okay-y. Her eyes lit up a little bit at the sight of her powers, a little dazzled by it. "You got fire powers!" Connie brightly said, clapping her hands together. "That's super cool!" She coulda guessed that by her general red-ness of everything, but it was still pretty neat to see someone with fire powers! "Well, I know a little bit about computers, but I can help too!" she said, starting to pick up the fallen chair before noticing the little button on the ground. A blink. "I think that's the power button?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Yep! Fire powers, phoenix abilities, they go hand in hand! They're pretty epic and keeping me plenty warm on this side, i just ate up a tree on the way here and I feel GREAT!" Aldreda nodded. She looked over at where Connie pointed, nodding. "Oh, yeah! I've never seen the button on the ground before, but that's probably it! I can press it if you're scared it'll explode or shock you or something, I'm immortal." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Connie was absolutely mesmerized by her. "A phoenix!" she exclaimed. "That's so cool! I didn’t know people could have phoenix abilities! I mean- I know people can have animal abilities, but phoenixes! That's so frickin' cool!" "I'm not too scared about gettin- shocked- I got lightning powers! But, um, now that you mention exploding..." She shuffled a few steps away from the button. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"No problem! I push buttons all the time where I probably shouldn't, mostly my brother's." Aldreda stepped up to the button and cracked her knuckles. "Nothin' to it-" She stepped down on the button and instantly gasped, grasping at her chest and leaning back. "Oh Great Jacana- this is it! Bleggh-" She said dramatically and crumpled in to an underwhelming pile of smoking ashes. In other news, all the computer monitors came to life with the test color bars. Connie immediately gasped as well, which quickly transformed into a squeal of terror when the lady disintegrated in front of her eyes. "What the shit," she wailed, stamping her feet frantically as she covered her face from the bright, colorfully painful lights. "Wuh- wuh- wuh- whguh- huh-" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Aldreda sat there for a few moments, before beginning to swirl back up to her human form, bursting in to flame before extinguishing out to normal. "Aww kid- usually Altair thinks that's funny- sorry! I'm immortal, I'm okay!" Aldreda said and put a warm hand on Connie's shoulder. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"WAUUGH," Connie bleated- she had a habit of doing that a lot -and immediately exploding. Well- not really. Moreso that where the not-dead-lady was touching her shoulder exploded in crackling lightning. It wasn't as strong, moreso out of shock than anything. "I thought you were dead!" Connie exclaimed, shaking her hands furiously. "I thought- you- you just- you just crumpled, I thought you actually frickin' died! I thought I killed you!" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Aldreda released Connie when she sent out the spark, but she didn't make any motions of pain. Some wisps of flame came off her hand, which she shook out. "Even if I did actually die, that wouldn't have been your fault." Aldreda said, calming her voice down. "Are you okay? I realize that faking dying in a place where people are dying all the time maybe isn't the move.. My bad, genuinely." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Connie leaned against the chair, trying to regain her composure after that shock of a lifetime (haha, shock). Well- she did say she had phoenix powers and everything, but it was still very spooky just seeing someone crumble to ashes in front of her. "I'm fine," she wheezed, clutching at her chest. Phew. "I'm fine- just gimme a second." "It's! Alright," she said after a second, trying to brush her hair back with her hands. "Um! It just! It just really spooked me, that's all! I kinda thought that. Uh- since you pressed the button instead of me...that...yeah. You died. Or, well, uh, turned to ashes." "At least your phoenix powers would'a come in handy if it really was deadly, y-y'know?" "I can see how that would be scary, I'll only do it if I have to around you." Aldreda nodded. "But there's no problem with that button, it's just in a weird spot! So feel free to press it later if you have to." "But no one needs to worry about me ever, I can handle myself. I'm immortal." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"That...that's reassuring," she admitted, letting out a little exhale. "Thanks- and I don't mean it to sound fake or anything, just- thanks- the whole being immortal thing is kinda helpful." She shook her hands a little to literally shake off the stress, and made her way over to the monitors curiously. It seemed pretty interesting, and a little spooky too- just all of these monitors, so many frickin' monitors. She couldn't have had the faintest idea about why there were just so many. "Huh- wait, what d'you mean, if you have to?" Connie asked with a squint, leaning her hand down against the keyboard as she propped herself up. "Like, if you have to fake die? Aldreda watched as she touched the keyboard, which was luckily harmless. "I mean, if I get flung out in to space, someone's gonna have to press it!" She smiled. "I don't ever have to fake die, but it is fun. For myself." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

A little pause- "I didn't mean it like the first bit," she quietly said, shifting to sit in the chair. Normal, harmless, spinny happy chair. "How's it fun? Like, the turning into ashes bit, or all of it?" What to do, what to do? She moved the mouse around a little bit, clicking it twice to get the computer to wake up or something. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Yeah! Have you ever just let yourself go blank? No thoughts or feeling or anything? It's great! I'm stressed? Ash. I'm sad. Ash! I'm mad? I turn someone else to ash! Hah!" Aldreda laughed and turned her attention to the screens, watching the mouse go around the color test screens. "Hmmm.. Maybe it needs the past word. "Huh! No, I haven't- I'm always thinking, always feeling, there's a buncha thoughts in my brain and they neverrr shut up," Connie hummed. "But I kinda get why its fun to just blank out!" "Password- uhm." She squinted a little at the screens, trying to find one of them. "I don't think there is one..." She decided to try typing password anyways, just for fun. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Password! Right, that's what Bridge said it was.." Aldreda hummed. But surprisingly, uhhh, yeah that was the password. Super high security going on here. The color test screens were replaced by black screens, though the largest monitor in front of Connie showed a prompt entry box: PLEASE TYPE ADDRESS: _____ "Oh! Good! It works, maybe! Hopefully this isn't like.. calling in a drone strike if you put an address in there.." Aldreda mumbled. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Connie was already typing away before the phoenix lady could finish speaking, mumbling quietly under her breath with each key. 02 Mirror Sea Cov., Stariel, 3258 “Aaand, boop!” Connie said, pressing the enter key. Pretty nifty she got it down pat the first time! It as always a pain trying to remember the zip code. “There we go! Wait, what’s a drone strike?” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽 (edited)

"Nothing you have to worry about!" Aldreda said, after all if it was a drone strike... It was too late to worry about it. The black screens changed to a birds eye view of Stariel, slowly zooming in to the address she had put in. "Is that the place you put in?" Aldreda asked, getting a bit worried that this was a drone strike and it was rapidly approaching her cute little house. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Connie watched, breathless, at the sight of her little town, and then her home- her home, appearing on the screens. Little beach house in the side of the cliff, pale purple roofing- vines and plants and flowers in bloom, the waves crashing against the golden sand- "Yeah," she quietly said, smiling fondly. "That's where I live." She was only there a few days ago- or a month?- but she was just there, she was just there on the beach, doing warmups before running deliveries. "It's been a month since we were last...y'know, back at home, y'know?" she asked. Nothing seemed to be...too different. Maybe that was a good thing? @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Dang! That's a great lookin place! I'd kill to be on a beach right now.." Aldreda said, grabbing the back of the chair to lean against it. "A month.. Hard to believe it's been that long, buuuut who knows how long I was ash for! Only proves my point that it doesn't affect me." The camera stopped zooming once it reached the top of the house and then stayed in place. "Hmm.. maybe you can control the camera with the little clicky thingy and letter board like Mindcraft! I watch my friend play that game." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"It's a really nice place to live...it's always pretty warm here, too- we rarely get snow, so it's just sunny, warm days around." Connie hummed a little at her ash-talk, right before it pitched into a loud, excited squeal. "Minecraft!" she exclaimed, immediately placing her hands on the keyboard. "I love Minecraft! And I really love watching people play it too- there's this guy, Philza, Philza Minecraft, he builds really pretty things, and he's super good at fighting and exploring and surviving the game and stuff!" Experimenting, she started pressing the motion keys, shuffling around the mouse a little bit. "You- you said your friend streams stuff, right? "Phil Mind Craft? I've never heard of him.. But maybe Bridge knows him!" Aldreda smiled and tuned in to the screen. As Connie interacted with the keyboard, the camera did in fact begin to move around. It felt more like the Sims and less like Minecraft, but Aldreda's knowledge about games was already pretty sparse. "Oh its working! Nice! And yeah he's the same guy. Bridge and Si-Woon and sometimes Abel are all my friends! But they're also all sometimes the same guy- but not for the past few years. I think they knew my brother was sad he was sometimes separated from his favorite one." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Yeah, he does Minecraft...stuff..." Her voice trailed off somewhat as she leaned forward a bit, moving around a bit more recklessly. It didn't really feel like Minecraft- oh! Oh, she played this before, too! Sims 2, the peak version of Sims 4. "It's kinda like Minecraft, yeah! Just more...Sims-like, I guess." She decided to make her way to the beach to get a better look at her home- a month, man. What kinda stuff was this, that she could talk to her dama through their frickin' thoughts, and see her home, too? Really neat stuff. Kinda...confusing, stuff. "The same guy?" Connie echoed, leaning back in the chair to look up at the phoenix lady. "Are they the same person, or are they like, super similiar to each other?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Everything on the screen was exactly as it should have been a month after she disappeared.. Aldreda looked down at Connie and chuckled. "It's complicated, and if I'm honest I don't entirely understand it still, but there was one guy who had three guys inside or him- and he's also a computer program so he changed between versions. My brother really favored one of them, so a few years back they made themselves able to have three separate bodies. That seemed to make Arnette happy for a time." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"...Tamagotchi? Oh, wait, not like one of them, then," she considered, lost in thought. After a moment, her eyes brightened up a bit more- "Oh, wait, like they're all different computer...versions? And then your brother like, split them apart so they could live their own lives? That's cool!" "D'you think I could go inside?" she asked as she made her way to the front door again. It was disorienting as heck- she could see her bedroom through the big circular glass window. She could see her bike propped up against the side. "It's more like Sims than Minecraft, I think. Does your, uh, gamer friend also play Sims?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Pft, Arnette didn't do anything. Bridge and the lot did that all on their own." Aldreda said. "And I don't see why you couldn't go inside! Aaaaaand I don't know, he plays a lot of games! What is the Sims..?" @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Sims is like! A simulated world, and stuff," she explained. "It's not really like Minecraft, but you can make your own people, your own houses and stuff, and it's- it's more like, customizing stuff and, the world instead of just...trying to survive, you know? It's super fun! I stole it!" Trying to figure out the controls to open the frickin' door, Connie asked, "Is this...Arnette guy your brother? Does he also have phoenixy powers like you? Wait, how did Bridge and the others get robo-bodies- 'cause you said Arnette didn't do much stuff..."

Surprisingly, for a house, the first thing that would greet them was the interior of a shop; standing shelves and floating shelves alike were gathered against the walls, filled with plants, books, magical trinkets, and a *lot* of fishing bait. Like, a *lot* of it. The same old, busted up lucky cat they found in the Mirror Sea was seated on the counter, it's little patched-together paw waving back and forth.

It was homey- it always was, here at home. But through the screen it felt...quieter. Colder, maybe.

Manning the counter was a woman with short, curly brown hair, writing something down on a slip of paper. A rune? Notes? Magic? Her pale red eyes were focused deeply on the piece of paper, scarred fingers carefully, slowly, tracing the charcoal nub against the sheet. Very faintly, though, were two little nubs of a goat horn, just barely poking through the mess of hair.

Crack.

"OtTER," she bleated, dropping the broken piece of charcoal as if it burned her. "You need to get better pencils! Stars, above!"

Oh. Connie's voice trailed off as she sat there, transfixed, for a few moments. Her wide eyes watched the screen before her as Rei stood, stamping her foot against the ground as she shook her hand furiously. It felt so...real. As if she were in the house too, watching her Auntie mess up with runes or whatever else- as if she were back home again. 'Is this real?' That was a good question. "Simulated world.. Oh, Bridge had one of those! He called it his office. I haven't been there since he split up, I dunno if it would still have a purpose.." Aldreda hummed. She turned her attention to the screen, watching with interest as the camera entered the house. "Oh this is sooooo cute, Connie! My Coven home looks kinda like this- fulla' junk! Aaaaaaaaand yeah, unfortunately Arnette's my brother. Bridge was always a robot-program-thing. It's a loooooong story. Arnette actually gave me these powers when he so kindly burned me at the stake, but he spared himself the same fate, so he doesn't have any powers." Aldreda just watched on, not wanting to interrupt Connie's gazing much more. Who knew how long she'd get to look at this before it timed out or her fight happened. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"It's a kinda, magic-stuffs shop," she quietly said, leaning a little on the heel of her hand as she watched. "We sell all kindsa things for magic here. My- my dama runs the place. They're not here yet. That's Auntie Rei."

"You dug that out from my room," a figure in a pale purple sweater scowled, as they made their way down the staircase. Their hair- once this dusty yellow color was much darker now, made apparent by the streaks of white that had come about. A month wasn't that long, right? "And that's not a pencil, it's charcoal for runes. Spells. Magic. Not for grocery lists and journals."

"It is a rune!" Rei protested, gesturing wildly at the various sized papers scattered across the countertop. "But I couldn't get past the first circle because your 'charcoal's too *brittle* and cracky and Bad."

A pause. "Oh. Well, you're pressing too hard, MY charcoal doesn't break- here, I'll draw your runes for you."

"No! What! I'd rather get Marshy to help than you. You can't draw a circle."

"Neither can you! And I don't want you to keep breaking my charcoal sticks, they were expensive! I paid good money for them."

"IT'S CHARCOAL. IT'S JUST CHARCOAL."

Connie watched their little spat fondly, laughing a little bit as Rei lunged, attempting to wrangle the small nub of charcoal from Otter's hands. "That's my dama, ah- ah?" "He...killed you, and you got your powers because of it?" she asked, turning a little bit to look at her. Some puzzled-disgusted sort of expression was on her face. "That's...awful. And kinda lucky, too. But still, that's awful. Eeeugh. He sucks. Can I say that? He sucks." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽 (edited)

"Yeah, but he was an even dumber kid than he is now. Well, was probably, I'm guessing he's dead if we've been gone a month." Aldreda said. "But yeah. He sucks. Sucked. Your family looks much nicer. I'm sure you can't wait to get back to them." @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

... Zahara had decided to explore the new areas, starting with the phone room and the camera room.. She was pretty confused with the phones, so she just moved past that, and on to the camera room.. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

In the darkness of the camera room it’s hard to tell at first, but there’s a streaked reddish stain across the wooden floor. It leads to the darkest possible corner—and in that corner, one glowing, narrowed, and slightly unfocused eye slowly cracks open. Mallon doesn’t say anything just yet, but they’re clearly watching Zahara intently. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Zahara entirely failed to notice whatever creature that was, and instead walked over toward the office chair in the middle of the room. "A chair.. And big glass windows..? What is this..?" She asked, seemingly just to herself. She approached the chair and spun it around to sit in it, still looking at the now dark monitors. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon inches forward a little bit as they’re not noticed outright, but still stays tucked into the corner. They squint at Zahara, head tilting slightly, then their gaze shifts a fraction to the screens behind her. They look..familiar enough, ish. Mallon can at least guess at what they are. Slowly, they peel themself up off of the floor and manage to drag themself over to where the chair is. In the dim lighting, they’re still a mess. The bleeding has stopped by now, mostly, though it still stains their hair and torn clothes. Though they can handle the cold, they don’t exactly seem to be handling it well at the moment. And unfortunately for Zahara, as they approach, their reflection is definitely visible on the screens in front of her. They don’t notice. “What are you doing.” They rasp out, squinting again. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Zahara was mindlessly looking at her own reflection when the bloody, white, de-scaled creature suddenly appeared beside her. "AH!" She yelled out, snapping her head to the side to look at Mallon for just long enough to shove them away before scrambling out of the chair and closer to the back wall. "Wh-what- what are you- don't hurt me!" Zahara's voice trembled as she tried to form fists to look somewhat intimidating. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon yelps as Zahara shoves them, still-raw skin aching as they stumble back a step. Almost immediately they crouch lower and a growl builds in their throat—but a simple once-over of Zahara and they don’t seem to clock her as much of a threat. Rude. “Not going to,” they huff, spinal final rustling flat against their back. Mallon bestie do you not see how you might possibly be scary right now. “I just asked a question.” Apparently not. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"G-good-" Zahara kept her defensive posture, but lowered her hands. "I'm just- lookin' around.. D-do ya know what these are..?" @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon frowns at the screens, stepping closer with their head tilted and glowing eye still narrowed. “…Computers. Maybe.” Hannah had something like that. Much smaller. “Dunno.” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Com.. Puter..? I ain't ever hear a that.." Zahara frowned, glancing away from Mallon to look at the screens again. "What does it do..?" @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

They pause for a moment, then shrug (though not without a faint wince). “….Computer things. In.ternet.” They put emphasis on the wrong syllable. Oh well. Mallon reaches out and pokes the keyboard haphazardly. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"In-ternet..? Computer..?" Zahara was only getting more confused. As the keyboard was poked, the computers woke from their sleep and lit up. It was where Connie had left it, but a text box appeared over it: PLEASE TYPE ADDRESS: ___ @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon really has no idea how to start explaining something that they don’t even fully understand, so they..don’t. Instead they lean even closer to the now glowing screens to examine the text box. “Address?” They mutter, half to themself. That was… That was a place, right? They’re trying not to get ahead of themself, but if this is anything like the phone call… @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"An address? Oh- I have one of those! In the swamp!" Zahara smiled. "If I put it in, what.. does it do?" @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon shrugs again. “No idea. Computers are confusing.” They take a step back to let Zahara access the keyboard. Seems like they’re trying really hard to remember something. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Zahara stepped to the keyboard, looking at it curiously. She at least knew English in writing, so she could.. Guess how this was supposed to work. One letter at a time she typed: "Swamplands 32 Rain Burrow" The camera zoomed back out of Connie's house and went dark for a moment, before fading back in now over a large and lush swamp. "Oh! Yes! Home!" Zahara smiled, holding her hands on her cheeks as she watched the camera zoom in. Giant looming trees, ferns, mud, and waterways seemed to be all that was here.. Until the camera got pretty close. From there, small gravel pathways, glowing green lights, stairs, frog sized doors, and even some little frogs hopping around! For the size of the area it was sparsely populated, but there were many froglets hopping about. The camera kept going deeper, eventually settling outside of a hatch on the ground with '32' written over it. The surrounding area was covered in tiny, frog sized flowers and decorative statues. From there, the camera stopped moving. "Oh- how do I get it to go inside..?" Zahara asked. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon watches, eye widening slightly, as the camera zoomed out and then in on the change in scenery. They’re…definitely a little confused when Zahara calls it home. “This is where you live,” they state, head tilting. “How. It is small.” Seems to not entirely be their concern, though, and they frown at the camera once it stops moving. “Can it?” Poking a random key on the keyboard seemed to have worked last time, so they try again. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Well, I turn inta a little frog, so it's a good size for me." Zahara said. As they poked the keyboard the camera shifted a bit. "Oh! Do that again! But make it open the door, please." @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Zahara pressed on a few random keys, and the camera stuttered all over the place. As it was moving by, they caught a quick glance of a certain blue poison dart frog being followed by a mix of other blue dart frogs and dumpy frogs. There seemed to be ten of them. "Oh! That's Raina's family!" She smiled, pressing more keys to try to follow them. It failed miserably, sending the camera off in another direction. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon blinks, the abrupt camera movement disorienting them for a second before it focuses briefly on the group of frogs. “Who’s Raina? The blue frog?” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Oh- Raina is Rakin." Zahara smiled. "The blue frog is Mirana. His wife. I worked with her sometimes.." @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

“I am glad my death will be justified then,” Mallon bites out sarcastically, grip on the back of the empty chair tightening. “Well, I don’t. And I will not.” Incredible input, thank you Mallon. Leaning in slightly, they mess with the keyboard again to try and get it into the door—hopefully they can figure it out this time. Whatever Mallon keysmashed, it.. Seemed to work. It flung the camera back over to the door. "Oh! Okay now it just needs to-" Zahara entirely stopped in her tracks as she saw a certain dumpy frog jump by on the camera, catching up with the group of dart frogs and other dumpys. She just stared. ".. That's Raina. That's Raina! I know his spots anywhere!" She exclaimed, stumbling up toward the monitors to press her face up against his image. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon actually makes a note of the keys this time before looking back up to the screens. Their eye narrows again as Zahara exclaims, but they don’t push it. “This is old then,” they state, crossing their arms. “A fight just happened. Rakin is here. "If it's old then- I should be home." Zahara said. "Go inside- oh-" She backed up from the screens slightly since it was hurting her eyes. The family of frogs had gathered outside of her door, and now that the camera was focused, it could be seen that a few of them, including this supposed Raina, were holding flowers in their mouths. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

"No I-.. I eat ants, mostly!" Zahara felt equally as confused at this moment. 'Raina' opened the door to reveal the inside of Zahara's burrow, which was dimly lit by little green rock lights and full of flowers. Any furnishings she had were buried.. ".. Wh.." Zahara frowned even deeper. "I'm- In gone, and Raina is there.. B-but.. Rakin is Raina! I know he is- Same memories and everything and he apologized so much for bringin' me here.." @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Their nose wrinkles slightly at the idea of eating bugs, but they move past it fairly quick as they watch the door open. Definitely a lot of flowers in there, unless frog homes were just..like that. Zahara seems surprised, though, so they’re guessing not. “Well if he can steal people and send them back. Then maybe he can send himself back,” Mallon shrugs. “And why would he apologize for bringing you here if he could just send you back anyways.” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"I-i don't know-.." Zahara shifted back and forth uncomfortably. The family of frogs added in their new flowers to the dwelling before closing the door and leaving. "If we c-can see him turn human.. We'd know for sure. He has way more hair than Rakin does as Raina. I would be able to tell." Zahara said. "I'm.. sure there's a good explanation here.." @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

That seems like a good enough test for Mallon. They squint at the keyboard once more, then carefully try to copy how they’d moved the camera around earlier to follow the frogs. “Fine. Let’s see.” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

The camera.. vaguely followed in the direction of the frog family, enough to keep an eye on them. "But.. Sometimes he doesn't turn human for days. H-he don't have much reason to in the swamp.. Only if he needs to fight something or- go out. W-we might not see it." @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon huffs, though they still keep the camera following the frogs as best as they can. “Well we do not have days. This could be pointless.” @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

“Okay.” Mallon agrees basically right away. They frown at the keyboard for a brief second, though, almost..nervously. The text box from earlier doesn’t seem to be there. Hopefully just typing in Hannah’s address (as well as they remember) will work? @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Thankfully, it took 200 Rige Rad Oseeowla IOWA as a readable address. The camera zoomed out from the frogs and faded to black, before fading back in to some familiar fields to what Mallon would know. In the center of the frame, on the corner of a large empty field, was an unsuspecting two story tan house, sporting a large separate garage and swimming pool in the back. A certain 2016 Subaru Outback was parked in the driveway in front of the garage.. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon seems like they’re trying not to look too much both excited and apprehensive, but their wide eye and tense posture say enough. They press the keys to send the camera forward, subconsciously leaning forward slightly along with it. Doesn’t look like anyone’s outside? But they’re positive it’s the right place. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Thankfully they've figured out the camera decently, and it goes up to the front door, jarringly clipping right through it. The front entry way, a small offshoot of the living room, was cluttered and full of shoes and coats. Notably, a pair of blue sandals were haphazardly strewn across a rug, and a Jaws themed jean jacket crumpled up on the floor. A few things of Mallon's were there- just some clothes Hannah and her mom had gotten them. Some big sweaters and boots and hats and some fabric masks with fish patterns on them- anything to try to hide Mallon's.. Fishness. "Um.. This is a very big house.." Zahara mumbled, looking just as confused as Mallon had looked earlier. No audio could be heard, but the nearest light was from the kitchen across the room. The entryway showed a bit of a mess- broken plates and shattered wood was kind of spilling out on to the hardwood floor of the living room. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

It looks like Hannah is definitely home. A smile actually cracks out at the familiar sight, fish-patterned masks and all. They shrug one shoulder at Zahara’s comment. “I am not a frog.” Thank you captain obvious. Mallon’s smile slowly begins to fall, though, as they finally process the actual state of the entryway. Sure, they and Hannah both could be prone to..breaking things, occasionally, but they definitely hadn’t left the house like that. Worry creeping onto their face, they hurry to move the camera into the living room. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

The living room seemed mostly intact.. But whoever had barged through the kitchen left a mess. From this new angle, the path of carnage could be seen.. Approaching the stairs. Things were pulled off of shelves, the lining of the stairs was pulled up, deep scratches were left in the wooden railing.. Yeah, there was only really one person that could have done this. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Oh boy. It’s with a gut sinking feeling that Mallon pushes the camera up the stairs, wincing faintly at the sight of the destruction continuing. Maybe this is a bad idea to do with Zahara still here. The destruction continued up the stairs, all the way to Hannah's room. Even the doorknob to her door was crushed in, and her door hung on slightly ajar. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

The inside of her room was truly the eye of the storm. Nearly everything was broken in the room. Whatever hadn't been packed up and moved to the garage in anticipation for her move to college was decimated. There were gouges taken out of the walls, broken windows, and.. A heaving, sobbing, screaming mess of a woman right in the center. The video being muted hardly mattered. Hannah's visceral screams could be felt through the screen as they racked her entire body. She hardly even looked like herself. She was just a creature blinded by rage and misery and confusion. However, there were two places in the room that were spared from her rampage. One was her bed. The sheets and blankets were a mess (as usual), but looked exactly as they had before their little trip to Maine. The side of the bed with the heavy weighted blanket and a few white scales left behind had not been touched. The same scales that Hannah would always complain about having to sweep off every morning would now be some of the last things she had to remember them by. The other.. Was about a three foot radius around it. It sat in its case, the case with the small dent, unbothered in the corner of the room. Kept away from the destruction and carnage.. For now. The only thing new or different or strange about it was a picture that had been taped on to it. It was Mallon- right after their powers had been taken. When they were bleeding out on the clear glass floor all alone. From this perspective, it seemed like they were laying dead in a puddle of blood in space. So, needless to say, Hannah's current rampage was not without cause. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Mallon looks around the room, at the utter destruction surrounding Hannah in the center. Broken walls and shattered windows contrasting the untouched bed that they, torn shoulders aching, choke back a strangled noise at upon seeing the scattered scales left behind. In the corner, sitting innocently, is the viol. A part of them is glad that Rakin had kept his word. Another, larger part of them regrets the decision. They don’t need the audio to understand, once they see the grisly, nauseating photograph attached to the case. They don’t need the audio to hear Hannah’s screams. The silence of the camera footage only serves to highlight the groaning and squeaking of the leather office chair as Mallon’s claws sink into it. They grip the top of the back so tightly their knuckles have turned even whiter than they already were, with the claws on their other hand balanced on the desk scraping harshly against the wood. They’re practically shaking with— Rage? Fear? Despair? Maybe all three. They can’t break their gaze away from the carnage on the screen. In the end, the only thing that is able to escape them is a low, keening vocalization painfully clawing it’s way out of their throat. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Zahara could only watch on with abject horror and utter confusion over what was happening right now. "Wh- why.. Why is she so mad..? What's happening?" Zahara mumbled. She closed her eyes and turned her head away from it all, and away from Mallon's clawed hand tearing away at the back of the seat. Hannah had no clue that she was being watched. Hell, even if someone had been standing in the room with her right now, she probably wouldn't notice. The look in her eyes was distant, and her entire body was shaking with her gasps and sobs. She collapsed forward, digging her nails in to the hardwood floor and dragging them back. Curls of wood sprouted out behind her hands as she continued fruitlessly scratching away at the floor. Beside her was her now shattered phone. If you really squinted, you could see it jittering, and see that it was her dad calling. Whatever his ring tone was must have been enough to at least snap Hannah out of it, momentarily, because she snapped her head in its direction and scrambled to answer it. Her shaking hands managed to accept the call and she laid limply on the floor next to the device, listening, and only being able to respond in sobs and mumbles. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

There’s no reply from Mallon. In fact, there isn’t even any indication that they’ve heard Zahara. They rip their claws from the seat and sort of..shoulder the chair out of the way as they lean forward, claws now digging harshly into the desk. That low keening noise, just on the edge of being a whine or a wail, practically surrounds them as they slam the key to move the camera closer almost desperately. Mallon does notice the phone call, and they do notice who it is, but their distress is too wildly overwhelming to process it in the state that they’re in. The wood beneath their claws is starting to shed splinters. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Seeing that she now wasn't practically pinned to the desk, Zahara made the smart choice to scamper out of the room while she could. Good idea. The call went on for a few minutes, and Hannah didn't seem to be calming down whatsoever. Her breathing was just as erratic as it had been when Mallon first looked inside, and her trembling never went away.. It didn't seem like Hannah was going to be getting over this any time soon. But that didn't stop her from grabbing her phone and forcing herself up to her feet, slowly inching her way over toward the door. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

They don’t seem to be calming down whatsoever, either. In fact, the longer that the phone call goes on, the longer that Mallon’s distress only grows. The noises escaping them are starting to turn into full-blown panic, chest heaving as they chitter and plead at the screen as if Hannah could possibly hear them despite the silent audio. Their shoulders hunch as they draw in on themself. Then Hannah moves—and they scramble frantically to grab for the keyboard again to follow with a high-pitched, panicked noise. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Unfortunately for everyone, there was nothing that Mallon could do to help Hannah. All they could do was watch. Or look away. With her phone gripped tightly in her left hand, she awkwardly picked up the viol case and staggered out of the door. Down the destroyed hallway and stepping as carefully as she could down the stairs, she entered the kitchen.. She managed to grab her car keys in the same hand as her phone and ran outside. As she approached her car, she was slightly more focused. Probably not enough to safely drive to wherever she was thinking about, but enough to think she could. @em | mallon 🎣 + kenji 🌒

Entirely ignoring the fight announcement, Mallon grabs the desk chair with a much tighter than necessary grip and yanks it back over in front of the cameras. They climb into it and pull their legs up close to them—nearly losing sight of Hannah for a moment, before frantically redirecting the camera as quick as possible. They almost flinch when she grabs the viol, a faint whine escaping them. Distantly, the tiny part of them still capable of functional thought wonders if they made the right choice. By now they’ve worked out the camera system pretty well, and they’re able to follow Hannah back outside towards her car. One thing does give them pause. The side switching announcement would’ve gone in one ear and out the other, had it not been for a vaguely familiar name. It feels like it sparks a memory, for the briefest second. But then Hannah reaches her car, and all thoughts except her evaporate from their mind. No matter what she does, unless something particularly drastic happens, Mallon will be watching. Hannah threw the viol in to the back seats and got in the driver's seat. She didn't even bother with the seat belt before speeding off down the road. But from behind Mallon, there was a disturbance. A crunch of snow and a few steps... 'I can do it I can do it- I just need to get the jump on it-' Agustín thought to himself as he shuffled forward. However, the only thing he got the jump on was himself as he slipped on his wet boots and crashed to the floor with a thud. "Ow!" He yelped as his shoulder hit the ground. Mallon, preoccupied with keeping Hannah in sight, doesn’t initially notice the approaching footsteps. However. They do in fact notice the loud crash behind them. It’s enough to momentarily tear themself away from the screen—whipping around in the chair with their eye wide. They look…spent. Exhausted. Definitely not as numb or as violent as Agustin had seen them both times before. A hissed growl escapes them, distracted and more of a warning than anything as their attention shifts back and forth from Agustin to Hannah. Once he finished healing himself and looked back up at Mallon, he was clearly terrified of them. It didn't matter if they looked tired or sad, all he could see was that blood, and all he could feel was his hands placing all of Yeonaixho's organs back inside his body. Regardless, he knew that this thing needed to die. It was too dangerous to stay on this side with Jymaiyri and her baby. Okay, so he’s attacking them. That thought takes a second to process, but they barely have enough time to uncurl themself from their cramped sitting position before Agustin is on the ground again. They crouch, slightly, narrowed gaze flicking from him to the door and then back to the camera screens with a low rumble in their chest. Oh God, they're scary.. Regardless of that, Agustín was filled with a newfound confidence after being able to do something. He lunged at them again, this time grabbing them in to a chokehold.
