Well, whether they wanted to or not..
Dante and Itsuki appeared face to face in the center of the arena. Around them was just a circle of sand, closed off by a glass wall showing off space around them.
Itsuki, pathetic and sunburned and still wearing the red outfit from the rodeo fight, slumped back down to his knees in front of Dante, not even caring to acknowledge the newt man.
Dante, red in the face and just about as pathetic looking, was laying in a fetal position on the ground. His small body was racked with his sobs, probably over the death of his potential mate.
Seems like neither man felt all to inspired to start fighting each other.
- "Ahem. Start fighting." The text to speech voice said. Still, neither roused.
- "Fine then. If you need more motivation. Itsuki, if you win, I will bring your husband here. And yes, once this event is over, you will both be able to go home. And Dante. If you win, I will bring to you a newt woman. I make no promises beyond that."

Itsuki was pushing himself back to his feet, frantically, as Dante got to his hands and knees.
"I need this! I need this- your husband can wait until you are home, mister! I will never get this opportunity again!" Dante pleaded as the temperature around him rapidly increased.
"And I need anything to live for, man!" Itsuki was still trying to get to his feet as Dante lunged at his midsection.

Narrowly, by the distance of a salamanders small toe, Itsuki lurched out of the way.
"If you're that desperate, any random woman isn't going to get with you man! I know!" Itsuki yelled, stumbling up to his feet.
"But I need to take the chance! Oh, it's my only chance, mister!"

Itsuki huffed as he formed vines out of the ground and threw them toward Dante, who dodged out of the way.
"You seem young and stupid! Just get out of wherever it is you damn newts live and go experience the damn outside world! There's so many people out there that would fuck you, man!"

Not taking comments about going out of his comfort zone very well, fire errupted from Dante's hands.
"You don't get it! You have a husband! You- you either gave up or you already won! You're not desperate like I am! I'll do anything to get to be done like you!"
Dante lunged at Itsuki and punched him in the chest. The fire left a bit of a nasty burn, as well as the force of the punch itself knocking him down to the ground.
"AUGH! Fuck you- a-ah- ah shit-" Itsuki winced, holding a shaking hand over the injury.
"Yes! I am winning!" Dante smiled, laughing as he stood back up.

From his position on the ground, vines shot up and wrapped around Dante's hands. They tightened and pulled the smaller man down to the ground.

Well, Dante was pinned to the ground by the vines, but his fire hands were rapidly burning away at them. The vines would grow back, then they'd burn, back, burn, back, burn-
Seems like Dante had enough of that as his whole body lit on fire and he lunged at Itsuki again, now freed of the vines.

Still on fire, Dante tackled Itsuki to the ground. He repeatedly punched him in the face and chest, only gaining more heat as he went.
"Burn! I must win!" Dante yelled.

Dante leaned in closer to Itsuki's face, laughing as he did so.
"Yes, yes! I can feel it now! You cannot stop me! I will finally win! Hah- me, winning against a male salamander who has already given up on women! I bet you didn't even mate, you are far too weak to even face me!"

Itsuki tried to raise a hand up to shove Dante off, again, but the heat was too great to move any more of his body in to its radius. He had been trying to hold back his screams, or maybe even think of a quip to say back, but this was all too much.
He could only scream in agony, fingers digging in to the sand as the pain racked his body.
"Yes, keep screaming! Tire yourself out even more! I will win even faster!"

Gradually, Itsuki's screams faded away and he went limp. Though, Dante wanted to be sure he had won. He stayed on him.

After waiting some time longer, Dante stood up. He dusted himself off, chuckling as he fixed his hair and bowed.
"I have achieved victory! Please present me with my prize!" Dante said with his head bowed. Itsuki laid on the ground, easy to mistake as being dead. The burns covering his torso were pretty severe. Most were second degree, if not third in some places. This wouldn't be getting healed without some magicness, for sure.
"Ha. Very good. That was fun. She will be waiting back on your side for you."
"Yes yes yes yes yes, and that pathetic male Julien owes me many bucks now! Hah!" Dante grinned excitedly.
"But one more thing.. Please pick a room to open on your side. North, north east, or south east."
"Oh, a new room? Um, south east! Sure!" Dante nodded.
"Incredible. You picked the only room with absolutely nothing of interest in it. Congratulations."
With that, everyone was zapped away from the arena, and Dante could start his search for his newt woman...
