This arena was about a soccer (American) field sized area of fake turf grass surrounded by some empty benches. There was a table set up on one side with a single seat, taken by Rakin. A forcefield was up around him, much like the kind around the totem at the end of each fight. Probably because the totem was sitting on the table next to him.
- Lykos and Riki were summoned in beside each other one of the short ends of the arena, both collared and chained up to the wall behind them.

Riki blinked staggered back, disoriented by the sudden change of the scene. He froze as soon as he processed it.
It was time. His turn. So who was... Riki's ears flattened when he saw the wolf next to him.
"Doctor Lykos!" The fox' voice rang with recognition and dismay.

Their entire body was bristling with tension and static. As they processed what was happening, it shifted to rage.
”I AM NOT A DOG, IDIOT!”
Their ear twitched to the voice next to them, a similar look of despair and realization. “Riki? Damn it, of all possible..”

"Let's start with 'I'm not a dog, idiot'!" Rakin said. As he said that, the chain fell away from Lykos, letting them walk in to the arena. "Please demonstrate to us something cute or beautiful! And any attacks against your judge will result in an instant faliure of the category."

Lykos was suddenly zapped back to the wall, leash reattached, but they now had a little blue ribbon on..
"Now it is Doctor Lykos' turn, if you can impress me more, the ribbon will go to you instead!"
(If Riki can impress Rakin by a difference larger than 4 points, Riki wins this round)

What... what? Riki pulled at the collar around his neck. He had known these "fights" were weird and tended to have a set theme, but to suddenly find himself in the middle of it was very confusing. It was absurd. The looming threat of death felt immediate, like the air was filled with it. Death, death death... waiting just beneath the surface; immense, empty, cold abyss.... And at the same time he and Dr. Lykos were made clowns in front of everyone. Alrai Pin was having fun on their expense.
Riki watched how Lykos walked forward and was brought back next to the wall. What could Riki do?
"I... Doctor, I'm so sorry, I... I couldn't find a way out for us. I failed us", he said hoarsely.
What could he do? What could he do?
Seki, Hoshi, Song, Ria, everyone...
He took a shaky step forward, towards Rakin, and stared at him with wide eyes that burned with cold hatred.. and let his tails fan out and wave softly behind him. His gesture wasn't genuine. He could have done it better if he put his hear to it, but y'know. He'd rather snap the frog man's neck than charm him.

"Hmmm... Not as big of a fan of blue! Yellow was much more beautiful! 'I'm not a dog you idiot' wins!" On Lykos' blue ribbon 'best in show' was now written.
Riki was sent back to the wall.
"Next will be the agility course!"
With a snap, eight obstacles appeared in the arena in front of them.
A series of sticks they have to weave, a tunnel to run through, a ramp to climb and wait to jump off, two different sets of hurdles to jump, a nearly vertical wall to summit, a jump across sand to measure their jump distance, and a hoop to jump through.
(Roll a 8d20 and then at the end add your strength modifier*8. Highest total point wins)

Lykos watched Riki’s display, scowling at Rakin for forcing them to act like pets.
The ribbon changed and again they bared their teeth with the same level of malice as before.
Now it’s agility time! “Ugh.” There they went…

That's.. Not great, but it could be worse I suppose.
He knocked over many of the sticks, rolled over in the tunnel, managed to climb the ramp and wait very well, bumped in to both hurdles, ran face first in to the high wall, jumped 9/20 feet of the sand pit, and managed to thread through the hoop at the end beautifully!

He watched as Lykos cleared the course, cursing Rakin in his mind for making them do this. Riki would have liked to spend his last moments in some more dignified way.
Once his chain dropped off, he shook his head, flipped Rakin off, and ran.

Riki knocked over the sticks, tripped in the tunnel, climbed and waited wonderfully, jumped over both hurdles with a stunning backflip, jumped 12/20 feet on the sand, and jumped through the final hoop without even touching it!
"Very good! Pass!"
A gold ribbon appeared on Riki's chest, this one also said 'best in show'.
"Hmm, seems like we're all tied up here, folks! So we'll have to take it in to the third round! And no, this one isn't going to be fighting each other!"
Rakin stepped out from the forcefield and stood in the center of the arena, arms held out to his side.
"Whichever one of our contestants can follow my commands best wins! And keep in mind, any attack on a judge is an INSTANT failure. Your lives are on the line here, guys!" @Twig | Kiran + Riki @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Seeing Lykos beginning to approach him, Rakin smiled, calmly approaching them as well.
"Well now doggy, sit!" Rakin laughed, suddenly lunging at them. He gripped his hands around Lykos giant wolf head, and sent lightning through their system. The electricity caused muscle spasms across their body, which ramped up in volume around their legs. With much protest and determination, Lykos tried their best to resist it, but found themselves overpowered by the lightning.
They sat.
Rakin smiled, patting them on the head.

They weren’t quick enough to move away as Rakin lunged at them.
As much as their tried to resist, once the lightning struck their weak leg they buckled. Forcing down a yelp, they sat.
They snapped their teeth at Rakin’s hand patting them, but their heart wasn’t in it.
That fucking hurt. Lykos growled at him, but did nothing more.

Riki's eyes widened and his fur stood on end as Rakin pounced at Lykos. He froze for a moment, watching in horror how the wolf got electrocuted, before he could get his legs moving and rushed to the doctor. His attention was on Lykos, and he looked at his friend worriedly, but was relieved to see they didn't seem too injured from the lightning.
Then, anger washed over the shock. As Rakin gave his command to the captain, rage roared hot in his veins.
"You..." He slowly turned his head and moved his blazing gaze towards Rakin. The fox' fur bristled once more, his muzzle wrinkling and his teeth flashing as he spoke.
"How dare you. How dare you humiliate us like this, you heartless scum, you false king. Don't you have an ounce of empathy in your rotten heart? You think this is funny? You think it's a silly funny game to play with our lives? To control us? Zahara made you out to be a hero, but all I can see is a HEARTLESS, SADISTIC MONSTER!"
Riki's eyes shimmered bright, pale pink, his pupils narrowing into slits as he whipped himself into a rage. His fur became an even brighter shade of white, and a pulse of energy wafted from him, as his Fairy aura flared to life.

Rakin's hands were bristling with electricity, clearly anticipating this to come to blows, but not the fervency in which Riki came at him. He was hardly even listening in to his rant, just getting ready to strike before Riki could.
He thrust his hand forward to try to intercept Riki, but his hands harmlessly slipped off of his well groomed fur, and Riki sent him to the fake turf floor. Riki's face remained in a wicked grimace, and his eyes shone so bright it was almost impossible to distinguish his pupils from the white-pink glow, and his fists kept hitting the flesh, breaking bones. He didn't seem to notice anything around himself.
He heard Lykos, but it was hard to understand him. Why couldn't they kill him? He was right there! The bane of their exsistance! Once he would be gone, it would all be better...
Riki, you need to learn to control your anger. You are a soldier, not a wild animal. You can't let your emotions get the best of you.
His hands came to halt like rusty machinery, jerking and shaking, like they still yearned to dig into that beat-up figure under him. The fox turned his head towards Lykos robotically, and his expression didn't change. Strings of saliva dripped down from his bared teeth, as he breathed heavily and stared at the wolf with wide, furious eyes.

The moment Riki looked away, lightning burst from Rakin. It hit both of them, and once the flash had died down, Rakin was gone. Along with Rakin, the totem disappeared as well.
Aaaaaaaand now the arena was fully cracking apart.

They were lying on the ground, a decent ways away from Riki now.
They tried to get to stand and go to him. “Damn it.. we were.. so close. Riki..” They grimaced in pain as they moved.
As the colors appeared around them, guilt crossed their face.

It was like the electric shock snapped him back to his senses. He was knocked back from the energy and he slumped onto his side on the turf. He gasped for breath, shaking and disoriented. He coughed, shook his head, and looked around. No Rakin in sight... Lykos was there... And the arena... oh.
His heart beat faster, desperately, and he scrambled to stand. He wanted to run. Run to safety. But where?
He looked over to Lykos, and his ears flattened, his tails lowering. It was time. His turn. The void was calling.
"Farewell, doctor. May you find freedom", he whispered.

When the groud disappeared from under his feet, his heart skipped a beat. He lifted his head to howl into the void. He had nothing to pray for anymore but his beloved.
