After being zapped in, Mallon stood alone. The room they were in was pleasant and upper-class, with fine paintings and tapestries taking up the walls and expensive carpets covering the marble floors. A slight sway could be felt, and if they looked out the window, the could see water. Miles and miles of water that eventually blended in to the horizon..
Without giving proper time to take in the situation, Rakin zapped in, standing in front of them.
"Hello. Before you begin, we need to even the playing field a bit. You have two options, and regardless of what you choose, your ability will be returned to you after the fight, given you win." Rakin cleared his throat. "You can either lose your vision or your ability to swim. Alrai Pin has decided that should be enough, though regardless of what you choose, we are pretty sure you have the advantage here. So, please choose whichever you think is best."

Mallon barely spares the room a glance save for the water outside, burning gaze locking onto Rakin in front of them as soon as he appears. They hardly seem to be considering the stakes at hand. After all, all they likely heard was their name next to his. Their fists clench at their sides—shaking—however, they begrudgingly listen. “I don’t care,” they snarl, baring their teeth as shells ripple out across their skin. “Where is he.”
Evidently they do care, though—fighting back the urge to reach for their eyepatch—as a second of half-rational thought later, they bite out, “Swim.” It’s taking everything in them not to launch themself at Rakin first, but, well. Someone else is a higher priority.

"You will see him soon enough." Rakin held his hand out and on to Mallon's shoulder. With a small shock, Mallon could feel their connection to their gills weaken until it was practically nothing, and their fins reduced in size.
"Good luck." Rakin said and disappeared.

The crowd appeared in the stands, and in front of them was a half scale recreation of the Titanic. From the movie Titanic. Everything about it was crafted with an insane amount of detail- it honestly looked just like the boat from the movie.
Rakin stood on the bow of the boat, right in front of the railing. There was a seat next to him, which he took, holding his hands in his lap.
"Welcome everyone! Wow, this fight has a bit more viewers than the past ones. I figured it would, so I made sure that this would be quite entertaining." Rakin said. Camera views in the spectator stands showed Mallon and Yeonaixho standing in their rooms, doors closed in front of them. "And I also come baring an important announcement, straight from Alrai-Pin."
- "The winner of the tournament will be allowed to leave. I told some of you in the past that everyone would die, but Alrai Pin has finally agreed with me that the winner can go, after helping with the ceremony. So let that inspire you to fight even harder."*
- "Now that that is out of the way.. Let me set the mood." Rakin smiled and held his right hand out. In a flash, the Viol appeared there, in its dented case. Rakin set it on the floor and opened it up, taking out the instrument with a high amount of care.

Yeonaixho cautiously made his way out of the room, using his cane to guide him. His movements were slow with fear, though he kept his head held high, his free hand a fist at his side.
In the cool light, it was revealed his tight braid had come undon- his platinum hair spilling across his shoulders and face. From across the arena, he stood, almost like a ghost, and Mallon would become certain of one thing:
This was the face of the man that had killed Ekmeros.

If Yeonaixho was cautious, Mallon was a bull in a china shop.
They barrel out of the room the second the door begins to move, stumbling slightly as they adjust to their new imbalance. Rakin’s announcements are ringing in their ears but nothing can drown out the music floating through the air straight to piercing through their armored heart.
Ahead of them is a ship—a familiar one, surprisingly, both as it is now and as the wreckage it became. But like Rakin before, it hardly pulls at their one-track attention as soon as they see him.
Because it is him. He’d fooled everyone. He hadn’t changed. Just like Hannah said.
If they looked hard enough, they could almost see the faint outline of the zombie soldiers standing beside him.
Fuck the totem. Fuck Rakin. They just have to get to him.

The boat split in half with an awful crunch, separating Mallon from the staircase that Juno had just crossed. If only they had been faster- the gap was way too long to jump. Only cables connected the halves together, leaving a precarious platform to cross.

Mallon feels the boat shift a split second before it cracks, a scream tearing out of their throat as the staircase crumbles.
They stagger to the side briefly, chest heaving as they struggle to breathe—the deck beneath their feet is suddenly metal and the air smells of iron and the phantom blood pools down their face. It isn’t real, yet they fight back the sudden wave of nausea that rolls over them all the same.

The cable that Mallon chose to cross was not strong enough to hold their weight. It snapped, sending them careening down in to the water below.. Which usually wouldn't have been a problem, but in this moment, it was.
Up ahead of them there was a ladder on the side of the boat, on the unbroken side. They'd have to swim up and climb it, against all of the waves.

Unfortunately for Mallon, they don’t know shit about cables. They shriek again as the cable sends them plummeting down and they splash harshly into the water.
It should be a comfort. It should be their strength. On instinct they try to breathe. Instead, all they feel is cold against their neck.
They’d been a fish out of water before, but not like this.

Mallon drags themself up the ladder, claws digging in to the rope, as they heave themself onto the deck on all fours. They swipe their soaked hair out of their face as they stagger to their feet. Yeonaixho’s voice makes them pause for a split second.
How dare he.
Hair drenching their clothes, shells shifting across their skin, and lure glowing a harsh, neon blue, they look even less human than ever. Mallon bares their teeth, a mangled half-scream, half-growl tearing out of their lungs as they swipe a clawed gesture in front of their chest. Evidently, that doesn’t convey enough for them.
Rough, throaty, and taut with rage, they wrangle their voice back into their throat to snarl brokenly, “‘Refusal to fight will result in punishment.’ That is what you told me. I will not stop.”

Mallon’s off-balance and half blind, both physically and with rage, so their first two lunges go wide. Their claws scrape against the dock as they scramble to right themself on all fours—but when they stand up, they’re behind him. This time, they don’t miss.

Mallon snarls at the blow, shoulder dropping as they stagger ever so slightly, and sending their replying swing wide too. Of course—he had to know about the old injury after all. Of course he would play like that. They shriek inhumanely again, dodging the next blow as Yeonaixho wipes out.

The boat's tilt was reaching a pretty steep degree, and since Mallon was on top of Yeonaixho, the two of them began to slip away. With Mallon on top of Yeonaixho like a sled, they rapidly picked up speed. At some point in the crash, a few bottles of wine had fallen over and smashed on the deck, sending glass shards everywhere. Their old strategy, tried and true, doesn’t fail them this last time. Mallon’s claws slide through like a hot knife through butter, blood spurting from Yeonaixho’s chest as they forcefully drag their claws down and down and down. They snarl in his face, rage and grief and triumph all crashing together in a final chorus of screeching notes as they pin him against the floor of the ship.
This is what they have been waiting for.

"Very good! Victory to Mallon!" Rakin put the Viol down in to the case, and in a flash, he teleported to stand over Yeonaixho and face Mallon. He extended out the totem toward them, as if trying to distract a child from whatever they were fixated on. "You did very well. He is finished. You have achieved victory. The totem in front of them goes completely ignored. As does Rakin’s voice—save for one single sentence.
Mallon’s entire body goes rigid. The shells coating them scrape and groan as they shift against each other in a screeching cacophony as the words ring in their ears. Victory to Mallon.
Victory to Mallon.
Rakin’s voice blurs into Yeonaixho’s, and Yeonaixho’s body crumpled on the ground spins and twists violently into Ekmeros’s. Sand and metal warp beneath their feet and then before they know it they’ve all but slammed Rakin to the side.

Their claws plunge into his chest, deeper and deeper than before. Bone cracks and splinters audibly as ribs split and innards splatter. In another universe, perhaps it would have been swift, or precise. But Mallon has no such mercy in them anymore. They are every bit the monster they appear.

Rakin stumbled off to the side as Mallon pushed him.
"I said we're done-" Rakin urged, harsher this time. But he didn't act fast enough to stop Mallon from entirely maiming Yeonaixho. Mid way through ripping out all of Yeonaixho's innards Rakin had enough waiting and lunged back at Mallon. He tackled them, dropping the totem in the process, and electrocuted them.
Juno's side of the orb began to flicker and fade away.
"You idiot!" Rakin yelled, right in to their face. "You- you- urgh!"
Without warning, he zapped them away, and in his place, Agustin was placed in. He was dazed and confused from the sudden shift from the stands to the arena itself. He was probably put there to heal Juno- or at least attempt to- but his powers would be useless to do anything.

Yeonaixho had died prone on his back, his pale eyes staring vacantly to the void above. Any exposed skin not torn open by Mallon's claws was saturated a sanguine red. Even his hair was stained, his entire body sticky and wet and ruined. He'd died gurgling blood and sputtering, in thanks to the neck wounds that had been imparted on him, leaving him with no real final words but whatever he had last shouted at his opponent.
In death, his firm grip over his cane's shaft loosened. He let go. His heart ceased to beat far before Mallon had torn it out of him, and he drifted, disraughtly, into the unquiet dream of death.

"Shit shit shit shit shit-!" Agustin cursed as he tried in vain to do anything. He had only ever used these new powers to heal from minor hypothermia, or Zahara's little flu, or a bruise that Dante got from fishing. This was entirely out of his league. He took in a deep breath, grabbing the various organs that were currently outside of his body, and tried to carefully place them back inside. He clearly looked sick, and even light-headed, at the squelching. He eventually placed everything where it should be, and tried to... Fold the skin back in to place. It was clearly beyond repair. Regardless, he held his hands over Yeonaixho's torso, and his gills began to wiggle and move more than usual as he focused all of his strength in to this.
Minutes went by, and there was obviously no response or change in Yeonaixho. He was gone. Agustin just sat there, on his knees, staring down at the corpse.

Well, seeing that Yeonaixho was certainly dead for real with no chance of coming back, Agustin sighed and looked down at his bloody hands. Disgusting. How did his father put up with this? If he had those powers, maybe he could actually do something here..
There was only about one more thing he figured he could do. He reached in to his pocket and took out a small pocket knife. With a careful hand, he began cutting away. First, a bit of the leg of his pants, which he placed down on the floor. Then he carefully reopened his previous work, and took out Yeonaixho's heart. He placed that on the fabric and wrapped it up. Then, he cut away most of Yeonaixho's hair, which was stuck together by blood. Even though it was all staying together, he took out a hair tie and secured it in the middle. He stacked that on top of the heart pouch, and grabbed his bloody cane, placing it all in his lap and waiting for Rakin to teleport him out.
