Jymairyi sat at the dining table, trying to feed Minerva spoonfuls of pear-flavored mush. Minerva, evidentially not the biggest pear fan, had gotten most of it on the floor, her bib, and the tray-table of her highchair. Instead of her perfectly fine baby food, she was far more interested in putting her mouth on the new vengestone bracelet adorning her wrist. Jymaiyri tried her best to the constant weight of her own new bracelet on her wrist. It was to keep her safe, she knew. To keep them all safe. She would simply have to get used to it. The changes would all be easier if they gave themselves time to adjust to them. She wiped away some pear-mush that'd ended up on Minerva's cheek, and turned to her husband, working hard at the skillet. "How're the pancakes coming?" "They're coming along." Yeonaixho replied. He was facing away from her, but Jymairyi could hear the smile in his voice. His hair was short now- she hadn't seen him with hair that short since college. It suited him. The feathery olm gills would take longer to get used to, but... she was getting used to it. "I used my special recipe. The kids will love it." "The one with all the cinnamon?" Jymaiyri laughed. A week ago, they'd all returned. Or, for some, come home for the first time. They were still figuring out exactly how to deal with the fact their family had trippled in size so suddenly but... they'd get through it. They'd always get through it. As Yeonaixho dished up plates of pancakes, Jymaiyri called up the stairwell, hoping everyone was awake by now. "Kids, come down! Pancakes are ready!" @cult family

The water was quietly running in the bathroom as Jymaiyri called up the stairs, and the faucet squeaked to silence it. Nathan fumbled blindly for their towel, eyes scrunched shut as to not get the water into their eyes. Part Toadlin or not, it was still a frickin' pain. The Sehwolh's had graciously let them crash on their couch since they've returned, and while it ow, ouch, made their back absolutely sore, it was much better than sleeping on the floor. Actually, it was much better just being able to sleep somewhere. He hadn't really gotten the chance to return home yet. Nathan wiped the water from their face, taking a moment to squint at their pores in the mirror. The only downside to the markings was that it made it a biiit harder to see the problem areas of their skin, though with their blinded eye, seeing most things was a bit of an issue. (It was cool, though. One scuffed up eye and a cool makeover. That meant the starry acne patches looked even more starry. Like- like a moon, in the night sky, with stars and stuff.) They pressed a few acne stickers to their face before heading out of the bathroom to wave to Jymaiyri down the stairs. "Thanks, Miss Jymaiyri," he called down. "I'll grab 'm." As they shoved their hair back with a headband, Nathan knocked a little on the door to their sisters' room. "Hey, Jymaiyri says pancakes are ready," Nathan relayed, fixing their bangs. "They smell pretty banger, toooo." @cult family

Zora was resting comfortably in the top bunk when morning came around. The girl had been awake for quite some time, simply staring at the glow in the dark stars that decorated their ceiling. Night didn’t seem so scary anymore, not with these glowy little stars, not with her sister close by, not with a warm and welcoming home. There was a sense of safety that she felt that Zora couldn’t quite put into words. It was different than anything she had ever felt before. This was what it felt like to have a family again, but even then, it was different. It felt real. Being on her own for so long, she had forgotten what it was like with her father, and what it was like with the ninja. This family felt different than her previous two, and honestly? Zora felt complete this time around. When she heard Yeonaixho- Dad call for her and Nora, Zora pulled her floral covers off. A little knock-knock at the door let her know that someone had fetched them, and that someone was Nathan. “Nora?” Zora leaned over from the top bunk and let her hair hang down as she tried to look at her sister. “Are you awake? Nathan’s here, and breakfast’s ready!” @cult family

Nora stirred at the knock and blinked sleep out of her eyes. A sleepy smile spread on her face as her sister’s hair hung down from above her. “mm.. ‘m awake..” She moved her blankets away and her many new stuffed animals- some handmade and others store bought, all sown with some of her special string. Her favorites were close by, her kitty, a handmade bat, and a funny axolotl and goat she found at the store. She scooped her kitty into her arms and got out of bed. “Mm, g-good morning.. a-are you ready ffor- for breakfast?”

(I’m gonna assume that it’s my response fhdkdbdbd I wasn’t too sure) “Mmhmm! I’m ready!” Zora smiled. She smiled as she slid from the top bunk and landed on her feet. “I’m excited- It smells so good!” Zora practically skipped to the door and opened it. Having sisters was...a wonderful experience. They couldn't quite pinpoint it, but it was just somethin' about this that was just. Wonderful. It filled that bit of achiness they'd always had since they were a kid. "Mornin', adelphes," Nathan greeted, grinning as well. He lightly ruffled Zora's hair as she neared, tongue sticking out in feigned concentration. "Your hair's all scruffy, lemme fix that for you." Really, they were making it worse, and then started to ruffle the top of Kitty's head too. "Smells great, huh? And suuuper sinnamonny." @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺 @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“I don’t know how much you fixed, but thanks for the help,” Zora couldn’t help but giggle as her hands flew up to try and regain some control over her hair. It was still relatively short, so that made the mess more noticeable. She desperately needed a brush. “My hair’s a bird’s nest now.” As she fixed up her hair, she gave a nod of her head. “Mmhm, it does smell really great!!
