As that pain shot through their skull, Nathan froze dead in his tracks, their ears ringing as Rakin spoke in their mind. They began to shift. Their body began to transform; their limbs became strangely angular and jagged- reminiscent of a goat? Some creature- and a dark purple haze began to eat it's way up his limbs, ending shortly at his bicep as similar to a toadlin's formed along his skin. "...bad." Yup. Feeling bad alright. Something was controlling him- Rakin, probably. Knowing him. Shiiit, he knew Rakin was gunna do something when he brought 'm back. Mind control? Maybe it wasn't quite like that. They weren't really in control of themself, but they knew what was happening. They...kinda knew what they were doing. (Only kind of, though. It was still a haze.) This time, Nathan didn't flinch away when Zora neared, but pulled their claws back slightly as she held their hand. They didn't want to hurt her- they didn't want to hurt anyone else, especially not like this. Their eyes were wide with some animalistic sort of fear as she spoke, her words just barely managing to get through to them. Strong. They were here with them. They believed in them. Well, the explosion of blue gunk had extinguished Aldreda's wings, and left her free falling back in to the muck. With a crash and explosion of mud she landed, and moments later pushed herself up with an exasperated huff. "Yeesh! Damn, gross!" She cursed and began to rub off whatever random blue liquid and mud she could with her bare hands.

Whoops. Almost slipped again. Connie held on carefully to Poppy to ensure she wouldn't get the worst of it if she slipped. "Aw, thank you, Aldie!- I still gotta come up with a good nickname- You did super great, too!" she laughed. "I saw all those fire feathers you kept launching! I didn't know you could do that, that was really awesome!" Right, after she kept getting targeted o'er 'n frickin' o'er. Her clothes were still bloody in certain spots, but Raina's healing and Taylor's stitching seemed to mend up most of the jabby areas. But overall, she seemed pretty fine! "You didn't get hit once! If it were any possible, Connie's smile was growing wider and wider with each word. Avis sounded absolutely wonderful. "I'd love to meet your family!" Connie laughed, beaming. Aldreda had never had her own kids. That was one of the abilities she had lost the day Avis decided to burn her and her friends.. And Altair had never been one to express his feelings in words very often... Aaaaaand her and her girls uh. Lifestyles didn't lend itself very well to adopting a kid to have around the house either. But having a part-time, low commitment kid come over every once in a while? She could do that. Especially if that kid was Connie. "Psh, aw, Concon, you're melting my heart right nowwwww." Arnette had died of Arnette causes while she was gone, really no big surprise.. But Bridge.. He didn't need to die- no, he shouldn't have died. Connie's smile faltered as the flames wavered, a look of sympathy washing over her face. "Aw, that's alright!" Connie softly said. Well, Connie did get her for a moment there.
