As they neared the portal area, Yeonaixho briefly stepped away from the rest of the family. "Agustin! I wanted to speak with you. I have... a few questions I think you might be able to help with?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

As Yeonaixho neared, Agustín pointed the compass in his direction. The arm spun around to face the 'home' icon, and Agustín hummed a bit. Same universe as him. Agustín opened his mouth to respond, but paused. It was strange to talk to the man who's heart and hair he cut out. And those things were still sitting somewhere in the maze, until this place falls apart.. hm. Best to not bring it up. "Oh-.. Well, what are your questions?" Agustín asked and looked up at Yeonaixho's gills. Those hadn't always been there, had they..? @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Yeonaixho's hand subconsciously went to his cropped hair and gills. "Well, Rakin turned me into an amphib, but I'm not exactly sure which, uh, kind I am. I figured you might be able to help? You'd at least know more than I do." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Rakin.. turned you into an amphib?" Agustín asked. "How did he- oh.. oh. Well, he was working with the Pilarians.. I guess he created you again as an amphib since it's the closest he could make you. And then he could control you, like the rest of us when the time came.." "But what kind you are.. I.. hm. You don't look like an axolotl like me. I'd say you can touch my gills but you could get yourself sick with the fungus.. Mine are about three times as long as yours. If you turn in to your amphib form I might be able to tell, you're some other kind of neotic salamander." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Huh.... I guess so." Yeonaixho frowned, clearly more than a bit uneasy about being 'created' again. "That makes sense. Or, as much sense as any of this makes." "Neotic salamander. Right." He repeated uncertainly. "Uh, how do I- do that? Turn into my amphib form?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Sorry that's jargon- neoteny is when an animal keeps juvenile traits in to adulthood. For us, it's the gills." Agustín tried to briefly explain. "First you should find some water since you'll suffocate without it, then you.. Huh, well, for me it's like flexing a muscle at all times to become human. I can pinpoint that imaginary muscle to turn at will, but you.. Maybe try relaxing your entire body until you can figure it out." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Okay. That- makes sense. Mostly." This was all... a lot to get through, in general. "Is there any water around? I don't want to... suffocate." Dying again would be Bad. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Yeah, it's kind of a swamp here." Agustín said and held out his hand in front of Yeonaixho. "My hand's in front of you, I'll lead you to a big puddle." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Agustín held his hand pretty lightly and stepped away. It didn't take long until Yeonaixho would feel his bare feet step in to about half a foot of gross, muddy water. "There you are, that should be good enough for a temporary spot." Agustín said. "Now just try to relax, I guess. You might have to sit down.. It's hard to explain, I was born an axolotl and had to find that muscle to turn in the first place. You're kind of working backwards." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Yeonaixho didn't even try to hide his grimace as he stepped into the gross water, but he did as Agustin said and sat down in the water. It was kinda awkward, with him being as tall as he was. "Mhm. Relaxing." He managed an awkward laugh, and tried to relax every muscle in his body- as best he could, given the stressful and awkward and incredibly weird scenario. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

.. Nothing happened. ".. Uh." Agustín rubbed the back of his neck. "Maybe.. lay down in it with your face up?" @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"... alright." Yeonaixho said, and shifted to lay down in the water, on his back. Still very awkward. "... like this?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Yeah, maybe something like that." Agustín said. Now Yeonaixho's gills were touching the water a bit. And he was muddy everywhere. "Now just.. Try to go numb?" @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

He wasn't too happy about being all muddy. But hopefully he'd be home soon and could take a shower or something. "Right. Okay." Yeonaixho said, and leaned back. He was still... really uncertain about all this, but with his ears being underwater it was easier to tune out any sounds. He closed his eyes and tried to, as Agustin had suggested, go numb. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

With his gills in the water, and sense of hearing muddled, he could finally fully relax... And as he did so, his body began to glow and morph in to a smaller, longer form.. Eventually ending up as a long, pink fleshy colored noodle like amphibian with no eyes. "What the hell-" Agustín said as he saw it at first. "Oh wow- you're an olm. I've never seen one of those before." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Well! This was new! He had pretty much the same amount of sight in olm form as he did normally, so at least that was still the same. Unlike pretty much anything else. Unable to voice his overwhelming confusion, Yeonaixho wiggled around a bit, trying to get used to his noodley olm body. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

It was a bit silly to watch Yeonaixho squirm and wiggle in the puddle. "Okay, now you can turn back. I'm 99% sure you're an olm." Agustin said somewhat loudly enough to get through the water. He really didn't want to have to get in to the water himself, he'd probably get Yeonaixho sick as well. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

Well, the opposite of relaxing your entire body is flexing your entire body. The noodle went rigid like uncooked spaghetti. ".... hm. It can take up to twenty four hours before young amphibs figure out how to turn in to their human forms." Agustín said loudly again. "Don't try to rush it." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

He didn't want to be stuck in noodle salamander form for a whole day! He had a baby! And a wife that was now really moldy! Regardless, he tried to chill out a bit, under Agustin's advice. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Mold and amphibians don't go well together! The noodle was near al dente. "Try picturing yourself as a human. It takes young amphibs so long since we don't really know what we'll look like- ah. However you envision yourself. So maybe try that?" @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

He could do that! While Yeonaixho didn't have the most concrete idea of what he looked like, he did know the sensations of being in a human body pretty well- at least how it compared in layout to his current noodle body. He tried to focus on that as much as he could. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

That seemed to do the trick, and after a few moments, he began to glow again.. He was soon laying in that mud puddle, now entirely muddy, but human again! "Wow, that was quick." Agustín commented. @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"That was- weird." Yeonaixho said, taking in deep breaths and patting his body down just to make sure everything was normal again. "You said I'm an... olm?" He asked, in the tone of someone who didn't know what an olm was. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

Thankfully, Yeonaixho had no remaining olm parts besides the gills. "Yes.. olms are long pink salamanders with no eyes. I think they live in a cave in Slovenia. I don't think us axolotls know much about them.. They may or may not still be allied with the salamanders, but if they tried to come back the salamanders probably wouldn't accept them." Agustín said. "You'll probably never see one, they're very elusive." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Huh....." Yeonaixho replied. All the talk of amphib politics got him lost pretty quickly. "Cave in Slovenia, huh..." He sat up fully. "Is there anything else I should know about being an amphib? Before I go back home?" @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Things you should know.." Agustín said. "You'll need a piece of well to live and stay sane now. It's a little rock, back home I had a small pink one.. You might need to ask Raina to get you a piece before you go back, or you'll lose your mind eventually." "And you can get salamander diseases like the one I have right now. Aaaaaand it'll be hard for you to stay human all the time, you'll eventually need to relax and turn olm again to regain strength. But you can talk to other sane amphibs and breathe underwater and do olm stuff, that's pretty cool." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Huh. Alright. I'll have to go find Raina and talk to him about that." Yeonaixho hummed. "Mhm. Olm stuff... wow, this is just.... a lot." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Yeah, being an amphib is a lot sometimes." Agustín mumbled. "Oh, also, if your gills get damaged in your human or olm form beyond repair, you'll also go crazy. So I usually wear hats.. Also to avoid people looking at me. Mine can kind of blend in to my hair if I try as well, put yours are pink and your hair is blond.." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Mhm, good to know. I'll get myself some good hats." Yeonaixho nodded. "Could I get your email or something? Just so I have someone to contact if anything gets... weird." @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽

"Oh- yeah, that's convenient. We're actually from the same universe so we can stay in contact. I live in Mexico though, and I'd.. guess that you don't." Agustín said. "I don't have anything on me right now to write with, but my email is-" (Insert normal sounding email here) @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Mhm. Thanks, my email is [insert another normal email], so if you get something from that adress, it's me." Yeonaixho hummed. "Yeah, I live in the South Loucari, but I think it's better to have someone to contact who lives halfway across the globe than no one at all." He stood up from the mud puddle and tried cleaning himself off a bit, to no avail. "I think I'll go talk to Raina, now, and then get back to my family. "Yeah, no problem.. Hopefully you can adjust alright." Agustín said and waved to the blind man. "And uh... Sorry, about everything that happened to you here." @innsjo | juno🌻/jymaiyri🌿/minnie🌺

"Ah.... it wasn't your fault." Yeonaixho sighed. He really didn't have the energy to be mad at Agustin, or anyone really. He just wanted to get home as soon as possible. "Sorry you got roped into this, too." He waved goodbye to Agustin, and went on his way. @Mads|Madison📱+Aldreda🔥+NPCS👽
