Celena took a seat outside of the barracks. Alright, maybe some time alone would be nice. Yeah, use her light and give the plants a bit of sustenance, that sounded like a good, calming use of her time. It’d get her mind off of the negative emotions that were stirring up inside of her. Celena held her palm to the sky. A glimmering orb of light formed and floated above the land, gravitating towards the now ruined farmland. The orb grew a bit bigger. The light radiated down upon the land as if it was a sun blessing the crops with warmth. Even with its bright light, it was still easy on the eyes if one were to stare directly into it. This felt familiar. Giving the crops attention and shining down her light upon it. It was soothing, relaxing, and.. A bit painful. A bit of a grim reminder of old, calmer times in her life. The light flickered for a moment before Celena centered herself. All would be well. She’d be okay, the plants would be okay- Everything would be fine. Plants were often stubborn little things that could tolerate all kinds of weather. Celena herself was stubborn, but she was also tired. How much more did she have in herself to sprout through destruction and ruin? Not much more, if she had to be honest. With a sigh, Celena kept her gaze locked on the farmland. All would be fine. If she lied enough, maybe she’d start to believe it. All would be fine. @soul | 🎻

Unfortunately for Celena, someone else had wanted space too - either that or Theora had another reason to be outside. Considering she was circling the barracks, crouching down and prodding the ground in different spots, maybe she did. Theora straightened, closed her eyes and stood like that for a little while - yet Celena still felt watched. Less than a minute had passed but enough seconds had ticked by for the time to be notable. Then Theora walked over to Celena, standing over her. "Have you seen Miles?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena frowned as another girl came into view. She tilted her head back to look her in the eye. Crap, this had to be Theora. Who else would just randomly approach and ask about Miles? “.. I don’t know a Miles.” She responded with a raised eyebrow. @soul | 🎻

Theora tilted her head investigatorily, a slight movement, as Celena looked at her. "Hmph." She sounded impatient. Too many no's. She looked to the side, closed her eyes for a couple seconds too long to be a blink or frustrated sigh. Another huff, then Theora opened her eyes, looked to the side, then back at Celena. "When you see him, you'll tell me." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena stared at her. “Can I ask why you’re looking for Miles?” She asked. “And what does he look like?” Besides looking like an ‘idiot.’ @soul | 🎻

"I need to take him back to where he belongs," Theora said, staring back. "Brown hair. Might be tall. Looks stupid." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena continued to stare.

️ “Where might that be?” She asked. “And okay, thanks. Now I know how he looks.” @soul | 🎻

"The Facility." Theora continued to stare too. "Good. When you see him, you'll tell me." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“That sounds.. Suspicious.” Celena continued to stare. She was good at staring contests. “I’ll keep an eye out for him.” But she wouldn’t tell her if she saw him. Nope. @soul | 🎻

Theora just stared at Celena for a little while. No words. Definitely longer than a minute. Maybe five. How long could a 5'3" nineteen year old girl stare at you without saying anything? It seemed a while, but not forever, because eventually Theora spoke: "I'll know if he comes here. I'll see him." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena continued to stare. Oh yeah, she could stare back, bitch. "Right. You haven't seen him yet, though. Are you sure he's even here?" She asked. @soul | 🎻

"I know he's here. I saw him with my Eye, but they've covered it now. So I'm putting down more Eyes." Theora walked to the other side of Celena, though she didn't actually do anything on the other side. Just wanted to move apparently. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena warily watched as Theora moved. Though, she did glance back up to look at her orb of light. “You saw him with your eye? What do you mean by that?” Celena frowned. @soul | 🎻

"My Eye. I had one on his bag so I could see him but it's been covered now." Theora stepped back. This was similar to the conversation she'd had with that guy and look how that had ended. She wasn't going to throw the first hit this time. "I've put more around here so I can see him if he comes nearby." She looked at the barracks, then at Celena. "I can see almost all angles of you if I close my eyes." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Huh, that explained her feeling of being watched even when Theora wasn't directly looking at her. "That's an interesting ability, Theora," Celena nodded as she let her light flicker and fade away. That was enough use of it for now. "I've never heard of anyone having a power like that before. Does the eye- Form.. An actual eye..?" @soul | 🎻

"You understand it. Good." Already better than that boy. Not difficult. "No. They're invisible. They're called Eyes because I see through them. When I close my eyes, I see through the eyes instead." All of them, but Celena hadn't asked that so Theora didn't say it. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Huh, that’s pretty useful,” Celena paused. Then, quietly, she spoke. “You should try putting one on Rakin. When he goes back to his boss, you’d be able to see what he looks like.” @soul | 🎻

Theora tilted her head, considering the idea. "No. I'd have to touch his skin. If the Eye was on his clothes could remove it." She shifted her feet. "I've already met his boss. Eyes in a cape. They used my memory to talk." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“You’ve- Met the boss?” Celena’s eyes widened. “Eyes in a cape? So he’s just- A bundle of eyes?” @soul | 🎻

"Yes." She assumed it was the boss. Who else could it be? People in charge were always drawn to her. People in charge did that sort of thing. "They might be. I could only see the eyes." The important part. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Huh..” Celena paused. “What was he like? Other than being just a bundle of eyes?” @soul | 🎻

(tw suicide, gun) "They made Miles shoot himself," Theora said incredibly casually. "It wasn't real. It proves he's here somewhere." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena slowly nodded her head. “Okay, thanks for that- Information. Much appreciated.” @soul | 🎻

Theora stared at Celena. "You will tell me when you see Miles. He can't be far." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“.. Sure, I’ll tell you.” @soul | 🎻

“Cool,” Celena shifted slightly. “.. Anyways. Uhm- I’m glad you made it through the storm okay. It was pretty crazy, wasn’t it?” @soul | 🎻

Theora's eyes shifted, then she muttered under her breath, "It was loud. They have no soundproofing here." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Well, the barracks are kinda beat up. We should be thankful that it held up against the storm, even if it didn’t really block out any sound.” @soul | 🎻

Theora's eyes flickered to the barracks. "What's the point of a building if it doesn't stop noise That's what's important." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

".. A building is meant to provide shelter, it's not made to stop noise. Like, that's part of what a building's for, but it's ultimately meant to protect us from the rain and heat and everything." @soul | 🎻

Now Theora looked at Celena. Distrusting. Unsure. Confused. "Then I suppose we'll have to keep quiet. If we start making plans, our silence won't seem out of the ordinary that way." Girl what. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena frowned, slightly confused. ".. Keep quiet about what?" @soul | 🎻

Theora narrowed her eyes in disbelief. "Keep quiet when we talk. We'll want to be quiet if we need to make plans. It'll be suspicious if we suddenly go quiet. If we start quiet it's not suspicious." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Right. Right. That made sense. “Well-” Celena paused for a moment. “We can always go down to the beach and speak quietly. The sound of the water could drown out our noise if we’re close enough.” @soul | 🎻

Loud to drown out the important things. Interesting concept. "That would work." She hated to admit it. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena nodded. "That'd be the best spot, I can't think of anywhere else that might be noisy." She paused for a moment. "Would you like to check out the beach?" @soul | 🎻

"No. I'm not making plans that I have to hide. I'm looking for Miles. They already know that." She stepped to the side. "The water will cover any Eyes I place there as well." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“I just figured that we could check out the beach together, but okay, that’s fine, too,” Celena gave a slight shrug. “You could place the Eyes elsewhere, it doesn’t have to be directly by the water.” @soul | 🎻

"I've been to the beach. I don't need to check it out again." She stiffened her shoulders. "The tide would come in and cover the Eyes. That's what beaches do. If the sand or the Eye is connected to gets washed out to sea, so does the Eye." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“There should be some trees or something around the outside of the beach. Maybe that’s something that’s sturdy enough to attach one too?” Celena suggested. @soul | 🎻

Theora just stared and did not answer. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena stared back. This again? She could play this game again. @soul | 🎻
