Celena found herself dropping in from a cold environment into a hot one. The difference in temperature immediately made her feel dizzy and ill, but she brushed that aside as she pushed herself up to her knees. Dear god, it was hot and humid here, much more than it had been. It was a good thing she was accustomed to the heat, but the temperature whiplash was nauseating. “Back here again.” Celena groaned. Surprisingly, Kian had gone to see the fight between Ko and Scott. He didn't know any of them, but his curiosity finally got the better of him. With or without one of the amphibs, it would be best to get more information. What made the fight more surprising to him wasn't the nonviolence, but the fact his uncle and the other amphibs participated. He would have to talk to uncle Agustin about it later, but unfortunately, later would be much later. The boy perked up in confusion when he heard his name be called to be switched over, and Kian was not prepared for the change at all. Dropping down onto the hammock, Kian let out a confused 'ACK!' and flailed around for a second. His cape got caught up in the hammock as he struggled to find his footing, which wasn't helped by the intense heat. It was such a stark difference, it made him slightly nauseas. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

At the arrival of someone new, someone who was actually close to her physical age, Celena shakily got up to her feet. She approached the boy slowly. The world was spinning a bit too quickly for her liking. “Hi, uhm- You might have to slow down your movements, you’re getting a bit tangled up there,” Celena bit her lip as she watched. Yup. Bit of a mess. “Would you like some help..?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Hearing a stranger's voice, Kian was momentarily stuppord out of his struggling. He went limp, almost comedically, and slowly managed to untangle himself from the hammock. Finally landing on his feet, Kian looked to the stranger and awkwardly smiled. "O-Oh, uh, hello there! S-Sorry about that. I'm okay now. That was unsightly of me, hehe.." Kian said as he rubbed some sweat out of his face. "Uh.. I-I'm Kian! I don't think we've met before, miss," he said with a small bow. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“No, don’t be sorry, we both kinda just- Dropped in here,” Celena looked to her own clothes. Embarrassed, she brushed the sand from her blouse. “I don’t think we’ve met either, I’m Celena. It’s nice to meet you, Kian.” Celena offered him a small smile, and awkwardly, a small bow of her own. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian smiled a bit more genuinely as Celena introduced herself. He noticed Celena looked about his age, which meant another person he could possibly be friends! And this time, Kian didn't have uncle Agustin in his ear telling him odd things about this person. "The honor is m-mine, miss Celena. Excuse me for one moment.. It is.. dreadfully hot here," Kian huffed as he pull his cape off his shoulder, revealing his missing arm. He instead tied it around his waist and unbuttoned his vest to allow more breathing room. “Not much is going to help with this kind of humidity,” Celena chuckled tiredly. “A dip in the stream might help a bit, but I don’t think that’d help for too long. I kind of wish my powers were able to make us cool, but all they’d do is make us hot.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"Y-You're not kidding.. I was dressed better for this sort of heat b-before getting kidnapped here," Kian sighed as he wiped more sweat from his face. "A-And there's a stream..? I heard your name being called on the announcements.. y-you've already been to this side, haven't you, miss Celena. At least you know what to sort of expect.." He smiled faintly. Though, at the mention of her powers, Kian's interest was piqued. "Oh.. D-Do you have fire powers too or something, miss Celena?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“There is a stream. It’s a bit further south from here, it’s nice,” Celena sighed. “This kind of humidity’s deadly, it wasn’t this humid when I got here. Each side gets more and more surprising.” With a smile, Celena shook her head. “Nope, my power is light, which can get pretty hot if I let it be. It’s better just not to use it.” Celena tilted her head slightly. “Do you have powers, too? Also, you don’t have to call me ‘Miss,’ we’re both about the same age, so it’s okay.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian glanced down southward, hearing the faint familiar sound of moving water. "Ah, yeah, t-that'll be nice to soak in for a bit," he nodded, fanning himself now. Though, his brows raised a bit as he turned back to Celena. "Light powers..? T-That's pretty neat. And s-sorry.. force of habit to be polite. How old are you, Celena?" he asked with an chuckled awkwardly. "Uhm.. And y-yeah. I have powers too. It's.. a bit complicated, though." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“If you’d like, we can head over there?” Celena suggested with a smile. “We can walk and talk.” “And don’t be sorry! It’s okay, being polite’s a really sweet thing.” Celena chuckled. Her smile faltered slightly. “I’m- Eighteen, technically. Physically and mentally, I’m eighteen. It’s a bit- Complicated, though..” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian nodded, about to take a step towards the river, but stopped abruptly as he heard the second half to Celena's statement. He froze, his eyes going wide as he looked back at Celena. "Uhm.. I-I apologize, but.. w-what?" He asked with a confused stuper. "What do.. you mean, exactly? You're.. s-stuck at eighteen too???" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena jumped slightly and looked at Kian with wide eyes as well. Her hands began to shake slightly. “I-I am- Don’t tell me- You’re the same way?” Celena stammered. “You’re 18 forever, too?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian pointed at Celena with shock. "I-I am! A-And you are too?! What.. H-How.." He was stunned stupid. Another person here like him?? Why? This had to be more than a coincidence, right? Celena pointed back at Kian. “How’s that possible?! Kian nodded frantically and finally put his finger down. He had instinctly went to clutch his cape, but with it being around his waist, he ended up just clutching his vest. "Y-Yeah. Yeah, this is crazy.." He agreed. "B-But yes, go ahead. I'm all ears. Seriously." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“It’s crazy, this is crazy, but-” Celena began to pace. “Mine is because of magic, which, magic is real. It’s really real. There was this book, and there was this spell, and I’m- It- I didn’t do this on purpose, but it happened, and-” It definitely seemed as though Celena was leaving out major pieces to her story, but she seemed to be fidgety and in awe of the coincidence still. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Magic? Okay, that makes sense. Yeah. There were a lot of things Kian had seen that were a lot weirder than spells and magic. He slowly nodded and gestured for Celena to calm down. "R-Right.. o-okay, why don't we sit down for a second, Celena?" He said and pointed over to the hammock that was still near by. "I think.. “Yeah, yeah, that’d be a good idea.” Celena nodded. Right. Calm down. Steady. “Sorry, I’m just- Surprised still. And this topic is always a bit- Hard to talk about.” She went to the nearest palm tree and took a seat under the partial shade that it provided. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"N-No, no. It's alright. I understand. Trust me, I do," Kian chuckled half-heartedly as he took a seat on the hammock across from Celena. He took in a couple of deep breaths, the sweat now dripping down his chin. Kian was sure he would never meet anyone like him again. Let alone someone eerily similar in the same age range. He was shocked, but at the same time.. a part of him was excited. Someone like him! How long had it been since he met someone who could possibly relate to his experiences? Kian clenched the end of his cape and looked towards Celena. "S-So.. A spell made you immortal? What sort of spell exactly?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Celena ran her hand across her forehead. God, she wished her hair was a bit longer so she could use the ribbon to tie her hair back. The heat was suffocating. “I don’t remember,” Celena sighed. “I used it, and I can’t- I vaguely remember it, but I don’t remember it word for word. I’ve tried looking through other spell books, but the one book I had gotten it from, the spell had disappeared from the book entirely. It was almost as though the ink disappeared the moment the spell was cast.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"A o-one time usage spell, perhaps?" Kian suggested with a small shrug. From the sounds of it, that's what it sounded like. "M-Magic can be tricky like that... It sounds like it was something you didn't exactly plan on, however.. I'm sorry to hear it happened that way. How.. H-How long exactly have you been stuck like this, Celena?" “Yeah, I didn’t realize that it was a one time use spell. I didn’t know spells could be like that, I was- Cheerfully ignorant back then,” Celena sighed, seeming a bit disgusted with her past self. “It’s okay, I did it to myself. Everything that happened, it’s my fault.” She sighed. “It’s been- Ah, I don’t know, a few hundred years? Maybe? I’ve- It’s easy to lose track. Too easy.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian frowned just the slightest and offered Celena a sympathetic look. "H-Hey. Don't beat yourself up like that. L-Lots of things happen out of our control.. I'm sure it wasn't all your fault," he replied with a kind voice. "A-And I get that. I try to track the time as best as I can.. but I've lost track before myself. “.. Thanks, I.. Appreciate that, Kian,” Celena offered him a small smile, though the gaze in her eyes told him that she wasn’t entirely believing that. “I’ve lost track somewhere around one hundred and fifty.. Maybe I’m two hundred? I’m not sure,” She sighed. “How about you? How old do you think you are?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Yeah, Kian could tell Celena wasn't completely honest with it, but it's okay. He's in the same boat as her, after all. "Of c-course," he smiled in earnest. He let out a small laugh and nodded. "W-Wow, really? I'd say I'm about the same, give or take a decade or something. M-Maybe I'm closer to 250 though.. It's hard to tell," Kian hummed. "I gave up at a hundred. C-Call it silly, but I always thought a hundred would be when I figured my whole situation out.. Guess I was wrong though." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“250, that’s a good number,” Celena hummed. She gave a small smile as she listened. “I’m- I thought the same exact thing. I thought at one hundred, something big would happen, like maybe the spell would end. Instead, everything continued as it did.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

He sighed, a little less embarrassed now that he knew Celena had thought the same. "R-Right? It was a shock to me. W-Well, I guess we got quite a few things in common then," Kian lightly chuckled. "S-So, what exactly do you do being immortal now, Celena? I haven't c-come across anyone else like me before.. so I'm curious to know." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“I thought it’d be like the flip of a switch with something new happening,” Celena chuckled quietly. “Mhm, looks like we do have that in common.” She gently tugged at the collar of her blouse as she tried to fan herself from the heat. “Well.. I did a lot of traveling, but after a lot of years, you kind of- Get tired of it. Everything sort of-.. All looked the same to me. So, I kind of tried settling down in different places to try and live a normal-ish,” The girl sighed. “But people catch on that you don’t age and find it weird, so I try to leave before people really notice.” Celena gave a quiet laugh. “Not too interesting, isn’t it? Despite Celena thinking her life wasn't interesting, Kian found it rather fascinating. To him, it sounded like Celena got to start anew quite frequently. He understood vaguely that was probably tiring, but it was much different to how his life of immortality had been. "N-No, no. I mean, I find it quite interesting, actually. “I’ve always wondered, too,” Celena smiled. She continued to fan herself as she looked over Kian. “You look like you’re dressed quite fancily.. Are you a prince? What kind of things have you done during your time of being immortal?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian nodded as he wiped more sweat off of his chin. He felt like he was going to sweat through his vest. Gross.. "O-Oh, yes. I mean.. I was. My formal title is quite a mouthful," Kian chuckled awkwardly, before clearing his throat. "My full name is Kian Ravina von Valois. Sole son and prince to the queens of Laputa.. w-well, when it was their era, at least. I do believe Laputa is ruled by a king these days." The boy sat up a little straighter as the court was handed over to him. "As for myself.. I-It's a bit of a long story. To put it simply, I-I am on a mission of sorts, and it takes me all over the world to meet a lot of different people. “Wow, I’ve- It’s been a long time since I’ve met royalty before,” Celena smiled and gave a bow, fighting back a giggle. “Lovely to make your friendship, Kian Ravina von Valois!” Celena straightened up and hummed, “That’s got to be tiring, working on a quest like that. Kian grew a bit flustered and waved his hand as he saw Celena bow. "O-Oh, you don't have to do all of that, Celena. R-Really. It's been a very long time since I was prince.." He replied with a lopsided smile. The boy cleared his throat again and looked over Celena for a moment. "Thank you. A-As for the people I look for... They're.. special, in a way. “Mmm’kay, Kian,” Celena couldn’t contain her giggles. “I just wanted to use your full name to test it out- It’s pretty lengthy. For me, I’m just- Celena.” She paused for a moment. “Have you.. Always been Kian? Or have you switched names?” For a moment, Celena simply nodded her head as she mulled over his words. “I see.. Well, I hope that you can find those people so you can find that someone, whoever they might be.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian chuckled softly along with Celena. "I-I see. Yes, it's a bit of a mouthful... But just Celena? Do you not have a family name?" He curiously asked. Though, her question did make Kian pause for a second. "..N-No, I've always been Kian. It's the name my mother gave me, after all. Why would I want to change it?" "A-And thank you, again.. “I did, but-” Celena shifted slightly. Her fingers gently fiddled with the sand as her smile disappeared. “I don’t think I’m worthy of the name anymore, so.. I’m just Celena. I wasn’t- Always Celena, either..” She took in a deep breath. “I hope that’s not the case- Two hundred years is too long of a time.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian looked over Celena with a sympathetic gaze and bent over to gently pat Celena's shoulder. "..It's your choice whether or not you u-use a certain name.. But I believe names are special, especially the ones your loved one gives you. I-I hope you can find the courage to be your true self again in the future, Celena," Kian said with an earnest, gentle smile. "From one old 18 year old to the other, I-I know it's hard. “Yeah, I think they’re special, too,” Celena admitted quietly. “It’s why I think- It’s important that I take it back one day. I think I’m becoming worthy again, I’ve met some good people here, and.. Kian's smile widened a bit and he nodded. "I'm glad to hear it, Celena. H-Having friends and people you care about makes this life we live a lot more bearable, after all," he hummed as he retracted his hand. "I-I like to think we have. “Yeah, it makes this life nice,” Celena hummed. She continued to fiddle with the sand. “But it also makes it even harder, when we lose it.. Being immortal, we’ve lost a lot..” “Mhm, if we can help out, then that makes it worth it,” Celena nodded. “I still work with the medical field because I can heal with my light..” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian looked down at the tan sand underneath them, slowly nodding his head. "Y-Yeah.. yeah. We know a lot of loss, don't we?" He said with a quieter voice this time. It hurt to think about the people he lost, but Kian wouldn't forget about them. It may hurt, but it's what moved him forward. "Y-You work as a doctor of sorts, Celena? "Yeah, we do," Celena whispered. The girl's hand reached up to touch the ribbon at the collar of her blouse. Her gaze softened. "Too much, too-too much.." She took in a deep breath. "Mmhm, my light can be used to heal myself and heal others. I've never met other light users before, so I don't know how theirs are, but- Mine goes for both, thankfully." @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Again, Kian offered Celena a sympathetic gaze. He clutched his cape, understanding completely how she felt. "Y-Your power sounds very useful, Celena. A-And I'm glad to see you use it for good, too. The ones I've met.. well, they w-weren't bad people, but they've had their fair share of problems," he smiled faintly. "Really? What were those people like?" Celena asked with a small smile. "Or, what happened to them?" "I'll admit, I'm preeeeetty curious," Celena chuckled. @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian chuckled awkwardly as he thought back on the light users he knew. "W-Well, they were specifically users of sunlight and moonlight. I didn't interact much with the moon user, but the sun one.. H-He was interesting. Confident, bright, a b-bit on the cocky side, though. I didn't pry too much when I had met him, but h-he was useful in getting information," he replied. His fingers dug deeper into his cape and he sighed. "Unlike your magic immortality.. m-mine is actually because of my power.. O-Or, I-I guess.. powers.." Kian started. “Sunlight and moonlight? That’s interesting, especially since my powers are kind of like sunlight now.. They used to be more like general light,” She sighed. “But what kind of information were you after, if you don’t mind me asking?” She was a bit sus of the boy, the use of ‘pry’ and ‘useful in getting information’ felt a bit. Kian awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck. "I.. Uh, how can I describe this?" He mumbled and sighed. "H-He had information about the person I was looking for. His mother was close to some people closer to my target," Kian vaguely explained. "A-And yeah.. my powers.. the time powers w-weren't mine originally. “Your target?” Celena squinted slightly as she poked her finger into the sand. She steadily drew out a small smiley face in it. “Huh.. So your target has also been alive as long as you?” “Oh- What was your teacher like?” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

Kian nodded. "Y-Yes, my target. It's easier to say than 'the person I want to get to'," Kian elaborated. "And.. yes, again. My target is ancient.. m-much older than you or me. They're someone who.. I think I need to meet," he sighed. Though, Kian perked up a bit at the slight shift in conversation. "M-My teacher was a great knight. Sir Jules Rodriguez. He had lived for a few hundred years himself, a-actually.. but on purpose," the boy smiled faintly. "He was strong, determined, a-and very strict.. but he was also empathetic. He cared about a lot of people, despite his outside attitude. H-He was good friends with my mother and uncle." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Someone older than both of us?” Celena looked surprised. “Do they also have powers like yours? How in the world did they live for so long?” “Seems like you were a bit fond of him,” Celena hummed quietly. “I’m glad he was friends with your mother and uncle. He chuckled awkwardly. "S-Something like that.. It's.. much m-more complicated, but it does relate to their powers, yes," Kian nodded. "I prefer t-to not divulge too many details to people for their safety." "I-I was very fond of him, yes. I saw him in similar manner to a lot of my uncles... H-He was there for me when I really needed it, and trained me to be a knight too." As he spoke, Kian subtly gripped his cape a bit more, his hand shaking. "H-He was someone who deserved to live for as long as he did... And I-I wish he got to live more." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Okay, I can respect that,” Celena nodded. “He sounds like an amazing man,” Celena spoke softly. “I’m sorry you lost him..” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

"I-I appreciate you understanding," Kian smiled faintly at Celena before looking down at the sand again. "Sir Rodriquez was more t-than amazing... E-Even my mother, the Head Knight respected him a-and his wisdom. When I was younger, I-I remember wishing to become a knight who was like him. I guess in a way, I have." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“I might not- Know you know you, but I believe you’ve become a great knight, Kian,” Celena smiled. “I think you would’ve made plenty of people proud.” @Aj | Kian+Moses+Bridge

His grip tightened around his cape. "I-I'm not actually an offical Laputa knight," Kian said with a sad smile. "My inauguration into the knighthood was n-never completed." He didn't deny or accept Celena's comment, but it was obvious in his tone that Kian didn't believe her words. "S-So.. technically, I'm the only member of my family that's not a knight." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Kian waved his hand dismissively, as if to tell Celena to not worry about it. "I-It's okay. You wouldn't have known, Celena," he said with a small sad smile. "I-I think if I ever finish my goal, I'll consider officiating my knighthood status back home. I wonder i-if they'll let me after two hundred years," he quietly chuckled. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

He gave Celena a small smile once again and nodded. "I-I hope so. And I guess if we're going by experience, yeah," Kian chuckled. The prince paused for a moment, sweat dripping down his chin again as he looked over Celena. "H-How about we head to that river now..?
