The heat was definitely rough to feel. However, the two girls made it to the palm trees without an issue. Zora wiped her forehead with her free hand as she squinted up toward the top of the trees. "O-okay, if you want- I could use my light to shoot at the coconuts, and then- They can fall, and we can get them. Water and food wrapped up in one!" @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora’s giant hat helped block out the sun, but she found herself pulling at her sleeves a bit. She wasn’t used to this humidity. “Mhm.. good.. good idea.” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Mmhm,” She paused for a moment. “Maybe we should stand back a bit, so that way if one falls, it won’t hit us.” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Mm, mhm..” Nora stepped back, wiping sweat off of her face. She was looking a little rough. “It- it’s hot… air ffeels… wet. Mghhh..” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Yeah, it’s humid- It’s a b-bit hard to breathe,” Zora admitted as she loosened the ribbon at her collar. “Wh-why don’t you have a seat by that big palm tree? It’ll give a b-bit of shade, and there’s n-no coconuts on it that could fall on you.” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora nodded and headed to the shade, stumbling a bit. The shade helped a little.. “…mmy head.. hurts… mm.. a-are.. you.. you hurt.. too?” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Yeah, I-I think it’s just a mixture of the heat and from crying so much,” Zora stated as she rubbed her forehead. God, she was starting to become lightheaded from the heat. She definitely did cry a lot as she spoke of her past, and then Juno- She had to be dehydrated. “D-do you want me to heal you up a bit? My light can- Help take the hurt away.” Zora offered. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Mhm.. c-crying… hurts.” She picked up her head a little. “Oh.. th-that would.. um, I’d like that.. um, th-thank you..!” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

"Mmhm, yeah, no problem." Zora smiled. "Any time you need healing, never be afraid to ask, okay? I'll always be happy to help!" And with that, Zora raised her hand to create some light..

And above Nora's head, there was a small orb of pure white light that appeared. For a split second, there was the sensation of additional warmth before it went away entirely. The light began to take a bluish-tint to it. An odd cooling sensation would wash over Nora, beginning at her head that would spread all throughout her body. The ache in her head began to disappear entirely. It was as if Zora had placed a cooling pouch upon the other girl's head to ease the pain and the heat. "How does that feel?" Zora asked as she kept her light focused on Nora. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora stared at the light dazed, before closing her eyes. She sighed in relief at the cooling feeling and the easing dizziness. “Ah… it’s- it’s very nice.. mm, thank youu..” She wiped a bit more sweat off her face, feeling significantly better. “Y-your light.. it was, um… kinda blue..! Th-that’s cool..” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu (edited)

“I haven’t seen it do that in a while-!” Zora smiled brightly. “I’ve only been able to do white light with some orange and red, but- The color is kinda new! Blue! I used to be able to do blue before- How exciting!” Zora bounced on her feet. The lightheaded feeling continued for her, so she stopped bouncing. Oh, double Nora? Two in her vision. Funsies. “Oh- Right! Coconuts! I can keep my light on you and then- Use my other hand to shoot down the coconuts,” Zora nodded. Yes, yes. Smart. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

She smiled a little. “Oh, that’s- that’s good..!” Zora’s bouncing made her feel happy, but she still looked tired. Nora frowned a little in worry. “Mm, I- I ffeel better.. I can.. can help..” Nora moved to stand. “I can.. um, get them with.. with my strings.” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Nope, it’s okay, promise!” Was the heat getting to her? Maybe. She turned around to one of the other palm trees. “I’ll sit once we’ve gotten the coconuts, you just stay sitting, okay?” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Oh… mm, okay..” She sat down with a little pout, watching her sister closely. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Okay, maybe, just maybe, the heat was messing with her more than she would've liked to admit. Squinting into the beaming sun, Zora raised her other hand and tried to fire a little shot of light to knock it down. However, the light, of course, backfired. She felt the heat travel down her fingers to her wrist. Wincing, Zora shook her hand as though she had touched a hot stove, because that's how it felt. Owch. "Oww.." She whined, before perking back up. Couldn't worry Nora. "I-is what I would say if I was hurt! But I'm not." Smooth. [Zora's at 22 HP]

It was as though Nora's concern snapped her out of her heat-induced daze. She gave her head a quick shake before offering Nora a smile. "I'm fine, just- Watch this!" Doing a little finger gun with her burn-free hand, Zora shot down not one, not two, but three whole coconuts! Three, for the amount of damage she took. The coconuts dropped to the floor. "Ta-da~!" Zora beamed. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Oh! Y-you.. you did it..! But you.. mm… you’re still hurt…” Nora took her burnt hand, frowning at it. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Zora bit back a wince at the contact. She still offered Nora a smile. "I-it's okay, I could heal myself right up and be good as new!" She reassured Nora. "But for right now- Let's definitely have a seat and get some of that coconut water in us. It's preeeeetty hot." @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

There was an intense look in Nora’s eyes as she held Zora’s hand. “…y-you… you promise… you will?” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

OOP. Zora did not like that intense look. “I-I promise,” Zora nodded her head. “Right after we h-have some water, okay?” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

It was similar to the look she had in the stands. A look of ache, fear. “…always heal..” She loosened her hold on Zora’s hand and rubbed at her face. “Mhm.. w-water.” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“I-I’ll heal, promise,” Zora reassured quietly. She gathered the coconuts and led Nora back over to the shaded spot. Her light was still over the spot, and instantly, Zora looked relieved to be under a cool spot. Once she was seated, she made a fist before sticking out her pointer and middle fingers. Zora formed her light from those two fingers, and created a concentrated little blade of light. Like a lightsaber, but tiny. With that, she sliced one of the coconuts about a third of the way to save as much water as possible. “Here you go!” Zora held up the sliced coconut to Nora. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora followed, tension still clear in her face. It calmed a little as she returned to the cool light. She watched Zora’s light, amazed. “Oooh.. um, th-thank you..! Mm, this… coconut was, um.. the first.. ffruit I had here..” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Really? Ooo, coconut’s a good fruit,” Zora nodded her head. She sliced another coconut. “I think mine were strawberries? I like strawberries..” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Mm, sstrawberries… um, I- I like those, but.. um, I like m-mango more. But, um.. coconut is.. I l-like the… the water.” She took a sip of it, smiling with relief. Her throat still felt super dry, so she drank it quickly. …probably too quickly! @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Slow down,” Zora spoke gently. “It’s too hot to sip the water that quickly, even if we really, really wanna. We gotta do it like this-” She took a sip of her coconut water. Mmm, delicious! “Or else we might get sick. We don’t want that to happen, s-so please, be careful.” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

The water was.. very warm. In an almost sickening way, actually. Nora stopped, grimacing a bit. “Blehh.. o-okay..” The sweetness was nice, and god was she dehydrated. But she listened to her big sister. “…..Zora..? Um.. d-do you.. have a- a home..?” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Ah, a painful question. Zora took another sip of her coconut before she shook her head. “N-no, I don’t,” She spoke softly. “I have somewhere I l-live, but- It’s not home..” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

…there was a heavy feeling in the pit of her stomach- not just from the water, it was.. “W-when we- we leave… c-can I.. I live with- with you? P-please..?” Her voice was wobbly, she sounded almost scared. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Y-you wanna live with me?” Zora sat up, surprised. Zora found herself rambling. “Y-yes! You can- M-my place is big enough, and- There’s a spare room! It’s kinda dusty because no one’s ever used it, but- It’s a nice place, and I have a lot of plants, and there’s a little library in the town I’m in, and- Y-you’ll really like the place!” God, she wouldn’t be alone! Nora wanted to live with her! She’d have a roommate who was her sister! Neither of them would have to be alone. As she spoke, her vision grew blurry from what she assumed was heatstroke, but it turned out to be tears. Yet again, she was crying, but these were happy tears. “Y-yeah, you can live with me,” Zora finished her rambling with a teary laugh. “I’d l-like that a bunch, Nora.” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora smiled as Zora spoke excitedly. “Th-that sounds.. so nice.. I- I always.. w-wanted to go to- to the library!” Despite her smile, there was still fear creeping up. Nora wanted to be with Jymaiyri too, but.. she wasn’t sure if Jymaiyri even wanted her anymore- But Zora did!! As long as they were together, everything could be okay again, she wouldn’t have to be alone!! “I- I’d like that t-too..!!” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Everything would be okay as long as they were together! Hopefully, nothing would ever tear them both apart! joy2

“We can go to the library, a-and buy you stuff for your room, and it’ll just be- A ton of fun!” Zora smiled. “We can watch movies at night, and eat snacks, it’ll be a lot of fun!” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Absolutely nothing! “Oh! A movie is like- There’s a box, and on the box is a screen- It’s kinda reflective like a mirror! But you turn the box on, which is a tv, and the screen lights up! And you can see movies and shows and cartoons that people make, and- It’s a lot of fun, I promise, you’ll really like it!” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora stared at her, not getting it. “Ummm… mm okay! Umm, wh-where do…. you live? Is- is it w- warm there?” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Mmhm, it’s warm! It’s just a little town, it’s pretty quiet and warm. The winters aren’t bad there, we get maaaaaybe a little bit of snow, but not much!” Zora beamed. She took another sip of her coconut. Zora then took the spare coconut and split it in half. She poured herself a bit more water before she passed the mostly full coconut to Nora to keep. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Oooh!! I- I I’ve only… sseen snow one time.. I- I like it..! It- it sounds… nice there! Hee..” She smiled a bit bigger now. She took the coconut from Zora, imitating her by pouring the water into her first coconut. “Mm…. You… you heal now?” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“The other side has a lot of snow, but it’s too cold. Over there, back where we’ll live, it’ll be cool enough to be comfortable.” Zora smiled. “Oh- Right! Healing!” Zora chuckled. She set down her coconut and hovered her good hand above the burns. Her light radiated down upon her hand, and in nearly an instant, the burns were gone!! “Ta-daaaaa.” Zora let her light fade away and she showed Nora the nearly healed hand. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Ooo… c-comfortable.. ehee, yay!” She smiled at Zora, happy that she was better. “Mm.. good! Umm.. Z-Zora if.. if you can make… c-cold light, um.. can it.. make our- our coconuts.. colder?” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Huh- I haven’t tried that before, but I’m willing to,” Zora smiled. She formed a second orb of blue light beside the coconuts. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora sipped hers and made a little face too. “Aww.. hmm.. w-well… it’s- it’s still.. nice! I- I feel, um.. a little better.” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

"I appreciate you trying to make it seem a bit better," Zora chuckled. She took a sip. "Mmm- If we want to later, maybe we can get some more coconuts, get a netting or something, and hook it to the side of the stream. The coconuts can get cold naturally that way. “Ooh.. I- I can make.. a net!! I- I made a.. a fishy one.. ffor Mister Riki! That’s a- a good idea!” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Oh, mm, okay.” She drank more coconut, relaxing under the light. She felt.. happy again. No where near before and still nervous, but happy. It was nice. “Mm.. um.. h-how.. are you, Zora?” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Zora thought that question over. "I feel.. Okay. I'm definitely calmer than I- Was earlier, but- I'm okay.. I'm feeling content right now, I think." She paused, before chuckling. "Bit hungry." With that, she cracked open her coconut a little bit so that way she could get at the meat of the fruit. As she did that, she asked, "How are you, Nora?" @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora nodded, watching her with concern. “Mm.. I- I feel.. um, like- like that too.. I..” The girl shuffled a little, looking down. “…I’m sscared. I- I don’t… ffeel safe.” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Zora paused for a moment. “I think.. I feel numb, maybe not content, but- I do feel calmer with you..” Zora looked over to the other girl and gently took her hand with her newly healed one. “I-I know, and I’m sorry.. I wish I could make you feel safer, this place is- Scary..” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

[Numb yourself to that pain. It is nothing, you feel nothing.] “Mm..mhm. F-feel.. empty.. um, before. Cold. …scary.” Nora squeezed her hand back. “I- I feel… less.. um.. that. C-calmer..? But, um… it’s- it’s still…” Her lip quivered, with her voice whining. “I- I wanna go home..” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Is there- Anything I can do right now to try and make the cold and scary go away?” Zora asked softly. “I’m sorry, I-I wish I could take us home right now..” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora shuffled, bringing her head to her knees and hiding her face. She squeezed Zora’s hand, harder this time. Her voice was weak and wobbly again. “d-don’t leave.. y-you.. I fffeel.. ssafer with- with you.” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Zora squeezed her hand tightly. “I won’t leave,” She spoke softly. “I’ll never leave, I promise you.” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Zora sniffled. Suddenly, she gave Nora a one armed hug. “I love you, Nora,” She spoke softly. “Thank you..” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

I love you. Juno told her that. She never got to hear that word before coming here. Now, she’s heard it from her dad- her papá and her sister. Her family. Her real, loving family. Hot tears fell onto Zora as Nora hugged her back. “I- I love you too…” @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Love you more,” Zora tried to keep her tears at bay. The two girls were terrified of the situation they were in, but they at least had each other. They’d be able to love and trust in each other. No matter what, nothing would deter that love. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

Nora hugged her for a while, finally pulling away when her tears slowed. She rubbed her eyes, her breathing calming. “Y-you’re… the- the best b-big sister..” The poor girl looked exhausted. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“And you’re the best little sister,” Zora smiled. “Why don’t you get some rest? You look really sleepy..” @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

“Mm.. okay.. um, you.. you won’t.. leave, w-will you..?” She blinked slowly, clearly getting sleepy. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu (edited)

“Mm.. th-thank you..” She shuffled, trying to get comfortable. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

"Of course. You can rest your head on my shoulder, if you'd like." Zora smiled. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

She did just that, smiling and sighing softly. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Zora smiled and let Nora get comfortable. It was pretty cozy under the shade of the tree. @Sauce | Nora🧶+Lykos🐺

After a bit she settled into sleep, having pulled out her little cat to cuddle. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Because of time- Zora used this time to use her light to cut out little blocks of wood from the tree they were leaning against. SHe began to use the light knife to widdle out little shapes. Then, she undid the ribbon around her neck, split it into two, and tied it around what she made. Woo!

Nora fell as Zora disappeared, looking around dazed. The last parts of the announcement rang out and her heart stopped. The girl rose a shaking hand, trying everything to not break down.
