Details:[d4 (1)]Well, that wasn't the most pleasant sensation. Jymaiyri typed in the name of the person she wanted to call, one letter at a time:
I-L-F-T-H-E-R H-A-N-I-S-H-A-D-R-I-A
She waited only a second before daring to speak. "Hanishadria?"
Hanishadria had been in his apartment, washing the dishes. Normal guy stuff. He startled, and dropped a plate when his own name was placed in his brain. "What the- Jymaiyri?"
"It's me, Han. It's me."
"Wh- this is Sadihak again, isn't it, I swear to the Mother, I'm gonna-"
"No, it isn't, it's- Han, you have to listen to me. Please. I have a very limited amount of time to tell you all of this. Please." She leaned closer into the booth, her voice gaining a hint of desparation.
Well. If it was Sadihak, they were doing a damn good impression of a woman they didn't know that well. "Alright. Alright. Go on."
"I'm in a- in this space maze. I was abducted by aliens. They took Yeonai, and the baby. It's- some sort of tournament, I don't know, but they have these phones where you can call people and-" She was rambling. "I- I don't know if we're going to make it. Hanishadria... Yeonaixho's dead."
There was silence for a moment, as Hanishadria attempted to make sense of what he had heard. "What? He's... dead?"
It took all of Jymaiyri's will to reaffirm it. "He was killed. By- by this fish thing. It tore out his heart, Han, I- I don't know what I'm going to do-"
"Hey, hey, Mari, don't freak out. Deep breaths. Deep breaths." Hanishadria's own anxiety shown through his cracking voice. "You'll make it out of this. You're strong. You're powerful. Hell, I don't know anyone more determined than you. If anyone could get out of a space alien maze, it's you."
The support was just that- empty support. There was nothing Hanishadria could do from where he was. But Jymaiyri needed to hear something from someone she knew.
Nothing Han could say would make her believe it, though. "Han..." She sighed, trying to calm herself through evened breath. "Han, if I don't make it out... you've gotta take care of Minerva. Please."
"Of course I will. But you're going to make it out. Please. You've got to make it out."
"I don't know if I can promise that."
"Can you say it anyways?"
She took in an uneasy breath. "I'll do everything I can to make it out." And it wasn't even a lie. "I promise."
"I'll- I'll do all I can from here. Maybe Petrai will know how to locate you, or something. If anyone could find you, it'd be her. But- but don't worry about that. I'll take care of it."
Jymaiyri doubted Petrai would be able to do anything, but even so: "Thank you, Hanishadria."
"And... I'm really sorry about Yeonaixho. I really am." His voice took on a weight it hadn't yet. The grief that was beginning to set in. "He didn't deserve it."
"I'm going to avenge him. I'm going to make this right." Jymaiyri reassured. She became aware of how much time had passed, and how little she had left. "I love you, Hanishadria. I love you."
"I love you too, Jymaiy-"
Abruptly, the call ended. Jymaiyri was left with nothing but the droning beeping of the payphone.

Details:[d20+2 (18)]“No. You’re telling me I need to understand. What I need is you. I need you to come home alive.”
Isabelle winced as Souma’s voice raised. It was on rare occasions that he ever raised his voice, but it seemed the stakes were starting to weigh on both of them.
“*Promise me you’ll come back. Please.*”
“I’ll try my best, I can’t-”
“Promise. Me.” Souma was shaking at this point, both his hands on the mirror he had stared into so many times before. And just like every other time, he waited desperately for an answer. An answer that never came.
“...”
“...”
“I love you, Souma. You know that. I can’t afford to make another promise I can’t keep. Not after Madison. I don’t have to ask you to wait for me. You always did. Just… please. Listen to my request. You can be angry with me, but Ulysses needs to know. In the meantime, I’ll try my best. It’s all I can promise. I know you understand. You’re the only one who does, even when it doesn’t make sense.” She laughed defeatedly, tears forming in her eyes.
As much as he wanted to disagree, she was right on the money. Souma would never question her, even when the entire world tried to convince him to do so. It spoke to the devotion this man held to a person who truly did not deserve it. This is starting to become a pattern, isn’t it?
“I love you. I’m telling you now, and I’ll be telling you when you come home.”
“I know.”
The last thing Isabelle heard was the unmistakable sound of a mirror shattering. She silently put the phone back on the receiver, wiping the tears from her face as if nothing had happened. Repressing emotions yay

"Same to you. I'll probably be sitting here for a while." She waved to Jymaiyri.
