“Hey, Crouton thief?” Sovran spoke up as he approached Nathan with a grin. “I know you got your hands full, but d’you got a second?” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"I have no idea what you mean by 'Crouton Thief'," Nathan sniffled, tucking away a final crouton in his pocket. "But go on, what's up?" Despite the snark, they seemed pretty at ease, lounging against the side of the table. Seemed that their little chat in the kitchen helped. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

Sovran snickered slightly. Sure, not a crouton thief at all. “Alright, you’re innocent,” He chuckled. “I got two requests to ask of you, if you don’t mind, of course.” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"So long as you don't take me in for crouton questioning," they snickered. "I don't mind, what's up? Grab a seat." They shuffled a little out of ways so that Sovran could sit on the bench, their gaze shifting slightly to where the two sisters were. Nathan waved, but wasn't really sure if they could see him this far off. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Don’t worry, I ain’t gonna tattle,” Sovran chuckled. He graciously took a seat, letting out a sigh as he took the pressure off his leg. Ah, nice. “Just a bit curious, more so. The girls mentioned that you might be able to make me a prosthetic with your powers? Or gimme somethin’ to help me keep my balance. Somethin’ like that might be useful for the final fight, if that’s somethin’ you might be able to do. If not, it’s alright, I can still kick butt on crutches.” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Hm," Nathan considered, brows knitted in thought. "I'll be honest, I've never made a prosthetic before. I guess it's just kinda like sculpting, but without the turny bits. Well. I mean, they're not too far off, I guess." "I have clay powers; so that means I can not only like, just mold clay like normal, but I can kinda manipulate and control it a lot better," Nathan hummed, digging in their pocket for a crouton. "I guess I could make the joint part be able to move. Do some magic powers to it." "I'm also, uh. I can transform myself like clay- it's a whole thing, but I uh, kinda need clay or dirt in order to I guess, be able to make something?" they winced. "But I don't have clay here on this side. Or dirt." 'Unless you want your leg to be kind of made out of me,' but judging by the way Llinos of all people-toadlins-guys reacted, it probably wouldn't go over well. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Yeah, there’s not really much on this side, and I don’t think anyone should be wanderin’ off right ‘bout now. Got a bad feelin’ ‘bout things.” Sovran sighed. “That’s alright though, I appreciate you even hearin’ me out, Nathan.” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Yeahhh," Nathan winced, even moreso than before. "Definitely not after the whole, 'amphibians are being zapped away' part. But yeah, sorry I couldn't, uh. Really do much else for ya." Well. They were made of clay, right? Pretty much so. They could make a clay prosthetic. Would that be freaky? They held their tongue instead. "Well, that was question number one," Nathan lightly said, popping a crouton in their mouth. "What was th'second one about?" @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Don’t worry ‘bout it, it’s all good,” Sovran gave Nathan another pat pat on the back. He grinned. “It’s all good.” “Now, the second question’s a bit- Of a bigger request,” Sovran reached into his pocket and gingerly took out Jymaiyri’s orb. He held it carefully in his hands before he presented it to Nathan. “Call it a bad feelin’ still, maybe paranoia if you wanna, but- I really don’t think I should be the one to hold onto this right now. Can’t shake that bad feelin’. Between you and the kids and Yeonaixho, I think you might be the best suited to hold onto this in my place.” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

Nathan's own orb felt slightly heavier as Sovran presented Jymaiyri's orb, all...molded over. "You- you want me to hold onto it?" Nathan echoed, their throat suddnely very dry. "M-me? Wait, wait, why me?" Between all of them, why not Yeonaixho? Why not Jymaiyri's husband? Wait. Oh, yeah. Right, the kitchen. "I. I mean, I guess it makes sense," they admitted after a moment, carefully, tenderly taking the orb into their hands. It felt fuzzy. They didn't even look at her screen during her and Nora's fight. Not once. "I- I get the whole bad vibes, thing. Between all of this, really. And emotions, I guess?" Unfortunately, they wouldn't have any strong emotions while having Jymaiyri's totem on them. Fuck, that still felt absolutely awful. "I can't believe you trust me this much with Jymaiyri's powers," Nathan quietly said, their gaze shifting up to meet Sovran's. “You’re trustworthy,” Sovran spoke easily. “I know we met not long ago, but- Zora trusts you. I’ve known her for who knows how long at this point, but if she trusts you, loves you, calls you family, then- I can trust you, too. You’re a good person, I’ve seen the Mazardy crap that happened, and-.. You’re a good person. There’s plenty of reason to trust you.” He paused for a moment. “If you’re not comfortable, though, I completely understand. I know it has a lot of weight to it. I can keep holdin’ onto it, if you’d prefer that.” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡ (edited)

"No, no, I'll- I'll hold onto it." The mention of that Mazardy bullshit made their chest sting, but it was greatly alleviated by one word; trustworthy. Sovran trusted them. Zora trusted them. Family, his family, his kid sister. "I'm comfortable, yeah, I'll hold onto it." Nathan was silent again, the moldy fuzz tickling the inside of their palm as they held the totem. "I didn't...see your fight or anything. I'unno if I was dead durin' that or whatever, but...the way that Juno talks about you, he trusts you too. You're a good guy, and you make him pret-ty happy. And...what you did back in the kitchen really helped. Really saved my ass from a...conversation I probably wasn't going to help much in. Two of them, really. I'm, uh. Not really good with words." They picked a bit at their face, brows furrowed slightly. "So, uh. Thanks, big guy. Being old has it's perks, huh? Old 'n wise." They snickered lightly> @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Thank you, Nathan. I appreciate you holdin’ onto this for me,” Sovran smiled a little. He raised a hand to scratch at the back of his head. “I actually haven’t had my fight, so hopefully, that’s off the table. Maybe we can get that final fight in before they decide to snatch any more of us for their amusement.” Sovran’s smile grew fonder. He gave Nathan another pat on the back before he lowered his hand. “It’s all good, words are hard. Sometimes, I still find myself strugglin’ to figure out what’s the right thing to say,” Sovran admitted with a chuckle. “The Yeonaixho conversation was- Gettin’ heated, I don’t think much would’ve calmed him down. I really had to get into his head an’ heart a bit to get him to simmer on down. As for the girls- Words might be difficult, but just your presence is more than enough for those kids. I can tell that, you just bein’ around ‘em makes ‘em comfortable. You’re a good siblin’. Don’t ever forget that, alright?” The man let out another laugh. He decided to give Nathan another pat on the back, one that was a bit rougher. “Haha, back at it with the old jokes, huh? "We'll kick their ass before it gets to that point," Nathan said, grinning with a mouth full of teeth. "Maybe that'll be your fight, putting Rakin in his place before he pulls another stunt." (To tell the truth- the pats were helping. Reassuring and just overall pretty helpful.) "Yeah, well, you're pretty good at words, all things considered. Not...to make another old guy jab, but you're older, you got a lot more experience with. I guess, just talking to people and helping them," they hummed. "You really know how to help people in like, a kind, reassurin' way...The only thing I know how to do to calm others down is just. Say, 'take deep breaths', and that's about it- hell, I even took that from Juno back when we first met." Nathan sighed lightly. "I guess me just being there for people does help, though," he hummed. "Thanks. It...it really helps." Good sibling, good sibling. Siblings. As Sovran roughly patted Nathan on the back, they laughed, shoving playfully at his hand. "Wait, I'll give you pocket croutons! “Honestly, I’d like that a lot if that was my fight,” Sovran laughed. “Show him a thing or two ‘bout messin’ with all of us.” “The older you get, the better the words come to be. You’ll get the hang of it,” Sovran reassured. “Hey, even just bein’ there for someone or helpin’ ‘em take some deep breaths is a big help. Comfort comes in all different types of forms, words is just one of ‘em. I’d say you’re doing real great in all the other categories. You’ll get the hang of words, just as you got the hang of snatchin’ those croutons without anyone really noticin’.” Sovran chuckled. “I think I’ll pass on them pocket croutons, I ain’t a fan of lint being stuck to my croutons.” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"With age comes wisdom," they sighed. "And with age comes, uh. Practice. Getting the hang of stuff. Thanks, man. It- it really means a lot. Words and comfort, and, and stuff. Words seems to be your specialty, and mine...just sitting there, smelling like petrichor and helping my friends." Yeah. Yeah, he could do that. Nathan snickered at the mention of lint-croutons, and popped one in his mouth in awful defiance of that. All the stolen lint-croutons were theirs, then. "I could...actually help you with a prosthetic for the fight," Nathan offered after mulling on Sovran's words. Man. Man. Man. "Um, just that it's not really clay of the...traditional. Variety." "I can...kinda transform myself like clay, yeah? So...I'm. Technically. Made outta clay. I could make you a prosthetic using...my. My body's clay? If it's not too strange- but if it is a bit, eh, y'know, weird, then just forget I. Worded it. Age and wisdom and practice." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Sometimes, smellin’ like petrichor and sittin’ there with your buddies is a big help as it is,” Sovran hummed. “You’ll get better with other things with age, but don’t think so little of what you can do now. You’re doin’ lots of good.” Sovran made a silly face at the sight of Nathan enjoying their lint-croutons. Bleh, no thank you. As Sovran listened to Nathan speak, he frowned slightly. He didn’t look disturbed or anything, just worried. “Would that- Hurt you?” He asked. “I don’t think it’s a mighty strange thing, and it would be a big help, but if it comes at the cost of hurtin’ you, then I’d pass.” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"I mean. Ehhh," Nathan winced, tilting his head this way and that. "I mean, it's just clay. And I'm made outta clay, so I wouldn't really...be hurt?" Yes. Yes, he verrry much would be. But he could ask Zora to...maybe heal him. Probably. "I mean, it'd sting, but not like, hurt hurt," they admitted. "I wouldn't feel any like-" don't say leg removing, ".limb pain, it's just kinda like a stitch in your side when you're walking. Or, uh, using your powers, I guess. “I’d appreciate it, I really would, just don’t go hurtin’ or pushin’ yourself for me, alright?” Sovran asked with another pat to Nathan’s back. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Eh, I know when not to push my limits," Nathan laughed, lightly patting Sovran's hand in turn. "I might not get it all done now, but I'll be working on it here in the meanwhile. Nowhere else to go, really." Part of Nathan's arm began to drip, just like how it was back at the farmland. They pulled at their arm like putty, or a very wet, sticky clay. "Don't worry, this won't hurt- for either of us, promise," they reassured, tilting their head vaguely Juno's direction. "I'll just take a few measurements, and you can be on your way. I got a feeling Juno wants to talk t'you, big guy. Keh." @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu

“Alright, just wanna make sure that you don’t overdo it. Just wanna look out for you, too.” Sovran chuckled. He watched Nathan’s use of his powers with intrigue. “Alright, measurements, let’s get those goin’,” Sovran grinned. “Want me to stand for ‘em, make things a bit easier?” “And Juno wants to talk, huh? Best not to keep him waitin’, then.” Sovran hummed. He left it at that. @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"Yeah, yeah, we gotta keep 'n eye out for each other," Nathan snickered, fully aware that he only had one eye to keep out for Sovran and the others. Did he know? (He didn't know.) "Standing might be a bit easier," Nathan considered, gauging Sovran's...actually very normal reaction. Did he know? (He didn't know.) Heh. “Exactly, we gotta look out for one another.” Sovran hummed. “An’ alright, up on one foot I go.” Sovran hummed as he grabbed his crutches and stood up. He kept himself perfectly still for Nathan. “This alright?” @Kipology | Nathan 🏺 + Connie ⚡

"More than a'right," Nathan laughed, shifting to a knee to take Sovran's measurements. "You'll get a nice, fancy clay prosthetic in no time." It was gonna be just like sculpting. Just like sculpting a leg, plus a joint bit. They'd done it...several times before, not quite a hundred. Piece of cake. Trust. He was glad Sovran trusted him enough to let him do this. @Vanessa| Sovran+Zora+Cansu
